  1. A genuine trust bar for $500 LOL The genuine bottom lip is $800 alone The bar itself is $450 for a glass copy (i need to add on freight costs as well), and if the quality is OK, this seems to be a good price (many fiberglass bars from other manufacturers are more expensive and the quality can be questionable) They are also one of the few shops that make this particular bar in Australia (and they have it in stock)
  2. Hi Guys I am about to purchase a new fiberglass Trust Style front bar from J Racing Australia (in Fishwick ACT) and wondered if any of you had had dealings with this company? I was hoping someone could tell me if sending them $500 electronically was a wise move (given that there is never a 100% garantee with anything) Thanks Guy
  3. LOL Now try that shot with Kimberly there, I promise she looks a lot better in fish-nets and a short skirt than I do.
  4. I may know someone who could help
  5. Just a thought, but the price may be a lot cheaper if we send 6 cars over on 1 truck/trailer. Companies like TMG may be able to help as car haulage is their thing. 6 cars both ways is a lot more ecconomical.
  6. Congratulations everyone - well done Bigger and better in 2008 - (cos ill be there then. LOL)
  7. I feel your pain I hope good kama comes your way soon (perhaps in the form of a GTR)
  8. I turned up but didnt see anyone i recognised. (I walked past a few different times) I was the confused looking carcasion
  9. Nice looking car - I saw it in the shop Wednesday. I'd love to know how it dirves, are they gutless and do they handel.
  10. Age: 35-44 1. Do you personally know anyone (this incudes yourself) that performs driving manoeuvres that would be considered hoon driving? YES 2. Which age group and sex do you believe commit the most hoon driving offences? [Circle one] Male: 15-24 25-34 Female: 15-24 3. How do you think drift practice and track days affect the amount of hoon driving and street racing that occurs in South Australia? (10 being considerably reduces and 1 being encourages) [Circle one]: 8 4. What area of Adelaide do you believe is the most affected by hoon driving/street racing? All areas (North and South, but more evident in the lower and middle income suburbs - but not bu a lot) 5. How many hoon driving offences were recorded by Police in South Australia during the period of January 1 2007 and June 30 2007? [Circle one]: 534 6. Do you believe if Adelaide International Raceway were to hold legal off-street drag racing this would prove to be a safe outlet for hoons to ‘vent’ and therefore reduce the occurrences of hoon behaviour on the street? Yes it is a much safer environment and would have some effect, but will never stop hoon driving. 7. Consider the following statement: On June 19 a man was observed by a member of the public excessively spinning the rear wheels of his vehicle doing a ‘huge burnout’, which left about 10 metres of tyre marks on the road. On a scale of 1-10, mark which you believe best describes your attitude towards this behaviour (1 = believe its stupid/dangerous etc, 10 = love it, condone it etc) 3.5 - depends on the location, time and a variety of other factors 8. Place a tick in the box if you agree that the respective will reduce hoon driving in South Australia. Then identify by circling which you believe would be the most effective. [ ] Larger fines for speeding and hoon driving [x] Police powers to confiscate and destroy/sell hoon drivers’ cars [ ] Introduce night curfews and passenger limits for P-plate drivers [ ] Ban turbo, V8 and ‘high performance’ cars for drivers’ under the age of 20 [x] Mandatory ‘safe driving’ course for repeat offenders [x] Further ‘safe driving’ education at high school level ------------- Probably the best solution but it will not solve the problem [ ] Other_______________________________________________________ 9. What effect do track days and drift practice have on your attitude towards driving on the street? (If you do not attend these events leave blank) It allows drivers to test themselves and their cars in a safe environment. You can enjoy the thrill of performing "hoon activities" in a socially aceptable way.
  11. Thanks for the help guys, some good ideas here. I have also been looking at the V35 (but want to test drive one first). Some of the older ones are reasonably priced, others are just too expensive.
  12. Got the call today, the car is a write off (economically - parts were over 15k) Next steps will be to determine if its worth buying the wreck (depends what dits people need to salvage) and to look at what else is out there. I think my payout figure is $19,000 and i know there are a few 34 sedans going for around 16k (depends on the condition - im a fussy bastard) Alternativly i may import something.
  13. Yes they are still available. This is one of the advantages of dealing with a reputable long existing business. As shown in the comments above the support and service you recieve is excellent.
  14. My understanding is that both the floor shifter and stearing wheel buttons will be a lot crisper. To be 100% sure you should speak to Mike. (details on the first post)
  15. Whats all the grief about neons, dont u guys know they are fully sik. LOL Dont worry, I dont drive around with them on, they are more for car shows etc. I am asking the insurance company to provide a Greddy intercooler and plumbing (price is great value at around $700) Instead of neons I was going to get the LED strips I am waiting on conformation on a Trust front bar (they are not listed in the latest Greddy catalogue - but they may have 1 or 2 in old stock) Rims are my next issue to sort out - still trying to price 2 rims for the car, but I may put the money towards a different set.
  16. Hi. I am in a similar situation and am looking for a new front bar. can I ask where did u get the bar from, and is flass or plastic?
  17. Fortunatly it was just me. Looks like repairs will take a while, the repeier is booked up for over a month In the mean time I need to track down replacement parts for the non genuine bits (intercooler, neons, mags, front bar) so that we can see if its economically viable to repair.
  18. The trust bar is OK, but i am not a big fan of the 400r. As you could see from my old bar, I am happy to go with something a little bit different. Andrew what size are the Enkei Circlar rims, and have u got a picture?
  19. No it wasnt V-spec, though i have seen him driving at 5km/hr up our road, but i have never had the skyline with me (always Di's 4x4)
  20. As a result I am in the market for a nice set of rims (insurance will only replace 2) and a new front bar. Not sure if I will get the same again (I liked having something a little different as everyone has a 400R, Veilside etc. - not that they are bad, just that they are too common) Looking for ideas for the front bar, and for a set of 2nd hand rims that r the same price as 2 new Avanti rims (cash is tight so I can’t afford to splurge on a brand new set of 4, but insurance should pay for 2 new ones)
  21. Wasnt you, but they had personalised plates that made it rather obvious.
  22. Thanks for the kind words. Its taking me time to come to terms with whats happened, and seems more personal than material (but it is only a car - and can be repaired) The other driver didnt stop, so I dont have his details (it will cost me my excess, rather than a free repair) but Shannons were helpful.
  23. Had an accident in the 4 door today, so I doubt Ill be at Autosalon. Driving up towards Inglewood, came around a corner to see a car on the wrong side of the road heading for me. I jumped on the brakes and swerved but lost control and hit a large rock. (still it could have easily been much worse, and I got out without a scratch) Biggest gripe was that lots of cars drove past and looked, (including members on this forum) but didnt stop to help or check everyone was OK. Thankfull a family in a Holden stopped and lent me a phone to call the police and my wife. Photos below
  24. I thought Any BIG screen (over 42") is better as a plasma, LCD for 42" and below
