  1. I'd be keen I would prefer a day at Malalar with plenty of practice time (not all theory). I believe Manta Racing can arrange this with a pro driver (can't remember who) if we can get sufficient numbers. For those contemplating this it would be worth budgeting for new brake pads (unless changed recently) new fluids (brake, and engine/trans oils) as well as a wheel allignment prior to the track day.
  2. Take the advice of the manufacturer on pressure, but as a rule yes they do. (32psi is a standard that works with most tyres, but some manufacturers recommend slightly different pressures for optimum performance)
  3. Isota and Momo make legal wheels when installed with an aproved boss kit (but their bosskits had yet to be approved for skylines last year) This only applies to the non airbag models. Those with airbags have no options other than standard (or so I was told)
  4. Hi Guys I dont post in this thread often but wanted some advice I recently purchased a new budget (under $800) PC - (AMD 3500+ Athon with 1Gig Ram and a GE Force 7300 GS Video card, duel layer DVD etc.) I want to use it to surf the net, play a FEW games (hence the lower spec graphics card) but also to download and burn DVD's (I have unlimited broadband of course) My questions are: 1: I am using Bitlord 1.1 (free version) - is it worth the price to upgrade to the full version in terms of inproved speed? 2: Some of the movies I have downloaded are in various formats AVI, VCD etc, what programs do you use to convert them so they can be copied onto DVD (when I looked all the free ones are limited - first 5 minutes only, work only once etc) Any other advice on downloads from the net would be apreciated, I am keen to get many of the older Sci Fi TV series and a few series that havn't hit Australia yet.
  5. Ditto If you dont have insurance this is going to cost you. The other insurance company can afford to take this to court and make you the guilty party, if they dont they have to admit their client was in the wrong and pay for your repairs as well. The legal fees could get expensive but your insurance company will make this whole exercise a lot more streemline.
  6. your phone is your best friend :-) Give him a call.
  7. hmmmm. Quick change is to shove it in gear with your foot off the accelerator (no clutch), quick but well = short life of the box. Get your car dyno'd and work out the max torque point and the difference in revs between gear changes. You dont want to rev the car out to redline (with most engines), you want to change so that you hit the maximum torque after the change. ie if your RB produces max torque at 5000rpm, and the revs drop 1000rpm from 1st to second, change gears a little over 6000rmp (to allow for slowing down during the change) so that you hit the 5000rpm maximum torque point after the change. Do this for all gears to get the maximum torque.
  8. It may depend upon what you are swapping. My experience was with older cars where many of the current rules didnt apply, but the basics were that the engine couldnt be any larger than the largest engine released in that model. (In my case it meant no chryslers with motors bigger than 360 ci) They were also very concerned with brakes and wanted upgrades beyond those that the manufacturer released on the models. Are you looking at a modern vehicle or a classic? I doubt it would be feasable to put a V8 into a skyline but they think its OK to put 440 ci into a mini or worse a vintage car with wooden spoked wheels. (but ADR's dont apply to early cars)
  9. when your wife gets neon earings and spends the afternoon going Psssshhhh just so that you will notice her.
  10. Even if you get the report I believe regency have the option not to accept it (and police wont even look at them )
  11. I prefer the dash in the S1 (anyone else?) and they give you the option of aftermarket steering wheels (ie no airbags)
  12. Most 600 x 300 front mounts should be fine, I dont think there is that much difference unless you are after big power. Your next delema will be the path the pipe work will take and if its worth getting an aftermarket manafold to reduce pipe length.
  13. That’s why I said Although a Uni degree in IT alone wont get you too far, but add a business management or similar degree and you have opened a whole lot of doors.
  14. Its basically a headache (pain like a migrain - without light sensitivity) that hasnt gone away for over 10 yrs. She can put up with it for a long time (it endone and panadine forte) but eventually she just needs a break from the pain. It was diagnosed after many CAT, MRI (stoke, ruptures, etc) and other teast as a Chronic Paroxismal Hemi-chrania (sp?) which sonds like it means something but translates to a pain in the head. ie no diagnosable cause and hence no real way to treat it.
  15. Then Im glad to see they have finally updated the courses. Cubes, you are/were studying at Flinders? (my experience is with Adelaide Uni - perhaps I should have qualified myself) At the time (and to a lesser exent even today) Flinders hasnt got the same reputation as Adelaide (its the old school tie bit not the courses) and most industry contacts I have (other than Dpt. Defence and CSIRO)dont consider a degree in IT worth much without time in the field or even some TAFE units behind you. For many people its more relevent and offers better employment and renumeration prospects to do the MSCE and CISCO units than a degree in ICT. (IMHO and many others)
  16. Uni are still teching Ada and Sun systems. Uni for IT is really a waste of time unless you want to work in defense. A 4 or 5 year course garanties everything you learnt in the first year is out of date by the time you have finished. It has applications later on for pure research but not a lot of use in day to day IT
  17. You ask the bank for a loan and the manager wants to know what mods you are doing this time, and what youe ET's are.
  18. When the pain gets bad she mixes up a mix of morphine and codine. (we have bottles of each) then sits back and mellows out.
  19. You can wear sandels with walk socks, and tuck your T-Shirt into your shorts but all the local kids think your still cool cos you drive a skyline.
  20. Endone is for wimps, my wife goes through them like tick tacs. Problem is your body becomes resistant to most pain killers.
  21. I geard Greenline have too many fractures, or was that their competition "Greenstick"?
