  1. Too wet for me - Sorry.
  2. It was probably Di's car beeing checked out by a car yard, it's going to make room for an import 4x4 with a lot less power. If I had have seen you I would have waved - its been ages. Are you guys comming to the Schutzenfest?
  3. Sorry Pauly, the guy asked me what the THREE items in the glove box were, so I think he will miss them if I take 1 out. It was worth a try, but when he aske me that question I thought there goes any chance of removing them.
  4. That sounds like a great idea, and for the price you can't go wrong. Instaed of a chest freezer, why not pick up a cheep fridge (lots around for free or under $50) because the freezer will be too cold and will get cold very fast.
  5. Most of the links already given for realestae will also have a rental arm to the company. Rent at the moment is anywhere from $250pw upwards (to avoid the slums) depending upon the condition and location. Its hard to guess prices by the time you will arrive as there is a rental shortage at the moment, so prices are beeing pushed upwards. A 6 to 12 month rental would give you time to try us out and find an area you like.
  6. I wonder if we should put something out on Skylines Down Under, since this was the main site people started with before SAU started up. I used to lurk on SAU for quite a while before becomming a member, because most people were still on Skylines Down Under, and SAU was a bit like the SVD site is now.
  7. Would one solution to some of the problems you outlined be to do this to numerous sets simultaniously and put matched sets together. Given that they might not work as well as aftermarket sets (yet plenty of Holly carbs spray 1 big jet and have poor atomisation), most people wouldnt need all 550cc from the injector, and inconsistencies would be compensated for on the dyno (assuming anyone considering this has at least got programable fuel if not a full ecu). If someone were to linish and test several sets at once a jig could be set up to make this easier, and all injectors tested on a home made fuel rail/pump/regulator with callibrated containers under each injector. I'm sure most people on here would pay a small premium for this to be done, and its not beyond the abilities of someone with a good shed/workshop.
  8. To get the Corona style you will need to bottle it in clear glass. Sunlight effects the beer (cant recall the name for this) and is a part of what gives Corona its flavour. There are a few other beers made in this style.
  9. Love the Monster Truck, I guess you could say "Surfs Up" Not sure I would say the rear handel is in a strange place, you have to swing the rear tyre around then lower the window and the handel is inside the rear cabin. It has a sterio, air, and all the usual luxuries, even a rear wing to help it go faster
  10. The Surf and the Hilux are almost identical, but the Surf came with the 3L Turbo Diesel motor (and some other less reliable motors) so longevity shouldnt be a problem. (Diesels = 500,000km with a bit of care) I need a 4x4 for towing and access to a property I recently brought at Inglewood. Its going to be useful when I build a house on the land, and the skylines hasn't got the ground clearance or 4 wheel drive to cope with slippery grass and mud (and I'm not giving her a GTR even if it had a lift kit)
  11. Yes - wanted me to remount the rear wing, and couldnt offer me any more because it could cost them big $ if anything went wrong on a skyline. LOL one of the most over engineered cars on the street, almost bullet proof.
  12. Why would this be any different than fitting aftermarket injectors? I agree with the ecu (or other piggyback/cut devices) to tune for best power/efficiency, but O2 sensors for each cylinder is a bit over the top.
  13. Price changed (explained above)
  14. I didnt tend to use the kit beers too much (started that way then went into making my own of varying styles) Experimented with a variety of yeasts, temperatures, and differing amounts/types of Hops, even Vanilla pods in the wort. I wouldt'n make the same brew twice as I would end up with too much. If you brew one after another after another (so that I could store them - never drink them under 3 months old) you end up with large quantities. 3 friends and I chipped in together and bought a pallet of bottles from down on Port Rd (green bottles but they were press tops rather than screw tops and quite thick glass).
  15. We strain it through a stocking (cheap and easy) Looks like you will have to buy a carton of coopers just to get some yeast - Lifes tough. You may want to wait for some cooler weather (April perhaps) as I believe Coopers ferment at quite low temps for Sparkling and Pale. Whilst the yeast may work at 25 degrees the taste will be different to a beer brewed at 16 degrees. One of my mates set up a fridge and fiddled with the thermostat settings so that he could brew beers in much cloder temps. Did you know Coopers are offering tours through their factory. You can see the whole process and taste the end products.
  16. Thing have changed then (and I was wrong) When I worked for CBH Joe White used to supply Coopers. Your biggest problem making the Wort will be getting that volume hot. A BBQ or some Wok burners usually work, all you need is a container.
  17. The malt is only a small part of the process, and the easiest to get. The yeasts, water, temperatures and other bits added to the wort etc are all critical to the final flavour. (but 50kg of malted barley will be a good start for lots of nice beer) PS Heineken is from the Nederlands, so I doubt they source malt from SA, but Coopers certainly did.
  18. 2L PET bottles work well, but you need to keep beer out of the light (hence why most bottles are dark brown/green). The 2L bottles catch the sediment and produce a nice beer but you need to drink 2L at a time (not that I see a problem with that)
  19. The cost is in getting a quality refulx still (I didnt want to trust a home made job, but in principal they are simple enough) You can sometimes find them on ebay and the traiding post, but I bought my whole set new for around $300 I think, but the bigger sets that can distill 25L are about an extra $200. If you are a spirit drinker they can pay for themselves in a very short time. (1.125L Vodka $6 - this is one of the cheapest, but eern the Liquers are about $15)
  20. Well maybe not in your case Steve, but the others do. LOL
  21. They have strayed from the true light.
  22. Was it fancy dress (the hat) or were you just trying to "save a horse and ride a cowboy" instead? LOL
  23. I home brew. I used to do a lot of beer, but now brew spirits. I make a mean Vodka, scotch and Burbourn, but have made many others.
  24. markyboy.1967, I'm not sure what its like in your part of the UK, but in Australia the lines are not as clear between the haves and have-nots. In my experience the English like to know their place in the social structure (I'm above him, but I'll tip me hat to you Gov) but here in Australia we all consider ourselves much more equal. (I'll chat to the local MP or a bum at the Pub and not judge them) I think some of the banter on here is just people who consider they live in the best part of Adelaide (and they are probably correct for themselves) You will find Adelaide is very spread out for such a small population, but there are many arterial roads that make transport quick and efficient. We also have quite diverse options from the beach to hills, modern and historic, high density and acreages.
  25. The BEACH ??? Home of the Great White Shark LOL I'd rather have a spider bite than a shark byte Stick close to town (Norwood, Burnside, Beaumont, Springfield) or go out to the Hills or Beach.
