  1. Nice pics, I really like that silver 33
  2. I have used Whiteline and am happy with the results (cant comment on the other brands)
  3. Happy Birthday
  4. I thought the price you asked was more than fare. I admit not a lot of people take the auto route (prefering a manual) but for a carton of beer you cant go wrong. It would be a cheep fix for a 32 with an auto problem
  5. Have a word with MV Automatics in Belair (Adelaide - South Australia) They did a group buy (search for it) on valve bodies for Autos. Those that have taken this path including myself (my auto isnt tiptronic however) have found it well worthwhile.
  6. Whilst I agree in principal with your comments about the bf's family, the death of a son/daughter would be the WORST thing any parent could endure. I honestly believe that they would give their own lives today if it would reverse the past. It wasnt until I had kids that I truly understood this. We have the priverlage of looking at this from outside, they have the grief and loss of a child and may/will not be able to see past that for some time. Unfortunatly i work with people in this situation all to frequently and someone/something to blame may/will help them cope in the short term.
  7. I took my wifes 33 down to Manta Automotive and he was able to diagnose my problem (with the car, not me) Turns out I have a fault in the loom between the ECU snd the Hicas system which means it works some of the time (usually when cold) but once it warms up and I restart the car the hicus light comes on and stays on. Worst part is that the power steering becomes heavy without hicas. One a side note, has anyone got a Hicas lock kit that I can borrow to see if it will fix the power steering problem?.
  8. Are you talking about 4x4's or Skylines?
  9. I am guessing that the car has been modified a bit, or the skyline wasnt trying because there is no way a stock Jaguar Mark II could keep up. Fot those who are interested: Built: October 1959 and continued in production until 1967 1/4 Mile 16.3 seconds 161.9 KW at the flywheel Twin SU HD6 carburetors - and u think turbo lag is bad (LOL) weight - 1450kg - a little less than a house. So again my guess is your friends Jag must be modified if it could leave a skyline behind. (or he was lucky not to be caught by the new drug stops) It may have the 3.8L motor but it also weighs 2 times as much and puts out less power. This is really a luxuary can not a sports/performance car, though in its day it was no slouch.
  10. Yes the show is, just the SAU display isnt.
  11. Event canceled due to lack of interest. Perhaps we could organise 6 people to come along and look at the cars on show?
  12. Event canceled due to lack of interest OK Guys, nearly the end of the month. I need those who said they would enter their cars to confirm it. (6 is the magical number) and i will need payments early next month. After last years effort it would be good to see the SA SAU put a display together.
  13. Who did they play? I thought the crows played on Saturday night -(not last night). Anyway a win is a win Go the Crows - much more fun than that funny ethnic football game
  14. My first guess is the router. Net Gear is budget equipment (good for the price - but this is the sort of thing you have to put up with) Since others have offered better quality options, give them a go and see if it fixes things. ADSL is always dependant uon the quality of the connection (a common weak link) so this is a possible concern but I would have thought you would get problems at other times aswell (do u loose the signal when your system is idol?) Cabel is a safer and faster option but isny always convinient. If you can borrow a 30-40m cabel and try it out it may help. i hope this helps.
  15. Glad to heer you are back home and looking to the future. A BBQ sounds like a great idea (my place is available if needed) Take it easy, these trhings do take time. The physical bits will heal long defore you are truly over it all. Hope we can catch up again soon.
  16. I just came across a plug for AUTOTEKNICA on the SVD website. I havnt seen any advertising for this, but thought "Hey, its another car show - better go and check it out" Has anyone else heard anything or planning on going? Its only a week away. The original post on SAU was: Adelaides biggest car show, AUTOTEKNICA will be held this year at Morphettville Racecourse on 17th & 18th June. There will be everything at the show to do with cars and more, including massive prizes in the dyno shootout, drift comp, motokhana, best show car plus heaps more. Also there will be heaps of New Cars, Mag wheel displays, Audio displays right through to Performance Tuning and pretty much EVERTHING Automotive. For more info goto: www.ameshow.com.au Cheers
  17. My 33 is available if required
  18. Johnn, are you any good with or know someone who is profficient in MS Access? I have a little relational database thats got me stumped. I thought my skills were OK, but this one got a bit difficult. PS I teach at the Womens and Childrens Hospital, and look after the network for the school. If anyone needs some IT advice I am happy to help where I can. I also have some wholesale access to parts and systems through Protech. (can save you a few dollars on an upgrade or system)
  19. This is looking good so far this year. I dont have a problem with other skylines fron Melbourne joining with us and it may even help if the Vic chapter of SAU (are u guys a propper club?) have an SAU banner we could borrow for the weekend. The other aspect of a display is what sort of display will we set up? The entry form says a minimum is some sort of ground cover. Any Ideas for a theme?
  20. Yes, 3 times in 2 months is a lot, perhaps if you had a nice 4 door?
  21. As the topic states, Auto Salon is back in Adelaide on the 12-13th August. There are several cars in the group that are worthy of entering (not that I expect we will win King of Autosallon) and I wanted to know if its worth setting up an SAU site. Entry is $100, (less than a tank of petrol), and we need a minimum of 6 cars for a club display. If your car is up to the job and you can spare the time to clean and polish then set up on Friday afternoon (3pm -10pm), add your name and details here. We tried this once before with mixed results, so this time I am suggesting people will nedd to be sure by the end of June and cars will be entered on the 1st of July (payment required)
  22. Thats a great idea Andrew, not many people have seen an R34 with the 4x4 Offroad suspension pack I think I'll start a new thread and see who else is interested. Even if the 3 of us are the only definites its probably worth it.
  23. Have you already entered autosallon? Just wondering if its worth getting a club display togeather, there are a few cars around that are worthy of showing even if they wouldnt be in contention for "best in show". I would be interested if it isnt already too late, I know than many of last years enterants wernt all that good, and many of our cars are a lot better.
  24. Sure it would be inconvinient, but at the end of the day he had a look, didnt give you a hard time and you were on your way. I am guessing there was a reported breakin and someone gave a description that made them think of an import (ie big exhauts, noisy, sporty etc) If he wanted to be a jerk he would have had u pop the bonnet, and gone looking for things to defect you, which it sounds like this guy didnt do. As I said it was a bit inconvinient but at the end of the day noone was hurt so I wouldnt complain too loudly.
