  1. sskylinee - sounds OK. Where abouts are you in SA, I might have to pay you a visit and have a look.
  2. Just got the word my TEIN HA coliovers will be shipped in from Sydney next week, just in time to install them on the car for EXTREME HORESPOWER. :cooldance Has anyone got some spanner(s) that I could borrow to drop the car a few inches whilst in at the show? If possible I would like to use them on Friday whilst I am setting up the display, and again on Sunday to return it to a more normal height (otherwise I can't make it up my driveway) On another note does anyone know how much a set would cost to purchase/make because I will need a set eventually. Thanks.
  3. The guys at MV automatics claim that they have seen many automatics with their shift kit and trans cooler cope with 300KW (for the long haul not just a month or two). For the guys with manuals, lets see you do this without going through a few heavy duty clutches, and/or rebuilding the box. IMHO the auto is every bit as strong as a manual, and a dam site cheeper to rebuild/repair in the long run.
  4. I have a PFC in my series 1 and it works fine. (Yes i have heard that it wont work but the reallity is that is is working fine) I had a trans cooler and the shift kit installed by MV Automatics in Blackwood (Adelaide) for $600. I thini the costs were about $300 for the cooler to be installed and another $300 for the shift kit. The shift kit made a big difference to the shift speed on my 33, with my foot to the floor gear changes are a bit like beeing hit in the head with a baseball bat. (I now chirp the tyres when it changes gear) yet when I drive around at a light throttle (in the city) the changes are a lot softer. Hope this helps
  5. sounds like the standard computer is your problem. Get an aftermarket computer or daughter board.
  6. Get a shift kit installed. When I have my foot down hard and the auto change gears its like beeing hit in the back of the head with a baseball bat. (but if I drive gentley the changes are much smoother. Getting a PFC or SAFC will also help you get a smoother power curve without the drop in power at mid to 3/4 throttle. Those who suggest getting a manual have obviously not driven a car with a good auto in it.
  7. I dont think you could really call a GTR a sleeper. I would have called my 4 door a sleeper. It was often considered to be just another 4 door sedan (lots of people don't even realise nissan made a 4 door skyline) but had all the right bits where it counted. It wasnt untill I applied the brakes (after beating them off the line) that they realised it was a skyline.
  8. Anyone know where or when? I cant be stuffed registering at Nissan Silvia just to get this info.
  9. Strutto - My auto was in good nick, so I just had a shift kit installed, and they mounted a tranny cooler behind the vent in my front bar. All up it cost me about $600. (but dont tell my miss's ;-P )
  10. I have had my auto done by MV automatics, it chirps nicely between gear changes when you add a bit of power. I would recommend them.
  11. Great to catch up with everyone. It was a top night. Anyone interested in a repeat performance in a month or so?
  12. Snake - The respray was done by Des Higgins, and so far I cant really fault it. (other than one small inclusionon my drivers mirror - but I am sure they can de-burr it) Maxx - thanks mate. I agree and am on the lookout for one at the moment.
  13. Thanks Kym Yes we will both be there on Sunday. Catch you then.
  14. Just got my car back on the road with the new body kit. Here is a pic
  15. My car is finally back on the road after being resprayed (some b*stard keyed it) and having a body kit fitted. I had told a few people (who had asked) that I would post a pic up when it was done, so here it is.
  16. If the guys from the holden/ford forums do read this, I just want to remind them that they are also the guys who are scared of the "pshhhht" sound and of the 4 round tail-lights.
  17. Thanks Kym, I'll be there Sunday.
  18. For those who haven’t been following the "How cool is Adelaide?" thread we have organised meeting at The Lion (old lion) on Melbourne Street on Sunday for a few bytes/drinks at 6:30pm. :jump: Whilst a cruise itself hasn’t been organised I guess if people wanted to go for a run afterwards it would be easy to arrange.
  19. I'll ask Wally Silins (Silins Special Vehicles) for you when I see him on Friday (to collect my car) Are you comming to the SAU get together on Sunday? I can tell you about it then.
  20. this is a great thread. PS dan_the_man should change to dan_the_wus (sp?)
  21. Just to show my age, and that nothing is new.... Chrysler released similar pictures to advertise their new engine in 1974? for the RT Charger
  22. Roy - Sorry I meant Parking, but my mind must have wondered. You know how it is, sitting checking email and porn, you sometimes mix up similar words like spanking and parking. Bl4cK32 - I have checked and there is no need to book if we are just meeting at the bar. There are tables and booths in the area for those who want to order wedges etc off of the bar snack menu.
  23. Is this still going ahead? How about Sunday at 6:30 at the old lion (melboune st) - that way those who want some food can grab a byte and those that just want a drink and talk are also covered. Parking shouldnt be too hard, its central, and everyone can find it easily. What do people think?
  24. Count me in if this goes ahead
  25. Let the fun begin My oil is better than yours because ......... Asking what oil is best is a bit like asking what colour looks best. I use a fucs full synthetic and change it every 10000 km (yes I am slack). I pay a bit more but hope the protection is worth it.
