Hi Guys Just got the word that my car is unlikely to be out of the spray shop in time for the show. :-( This means that there is room for another 4 door :-) I am still happy to help organise/coordinate this if it’s needed (as I am the one who started this whole thing anyway) If there is a need for those entering to get together and plan it (or just meet and go for a cruise and talk) my place is still available. Remember to get your entries filled in soon as there is a late fee for those who register in the last week. http://www.autosalon.org/orderform.asp PM me if you have any further questions.

This is a much simpler system and is used to chill the intake temps. (think water injection infront of the intercooler mod) It wont really give you lots of extra power (like N2O) but will chill your intercooler big time and stop detination (so you could run a little more timing or a little nore boost without detination). You may have seen this at the start of 2fast 2furious when the skyline pulls up ready for the big race.

This thread has some of the most ill informed comments I have seen for a long time. N2O has been used for a long time and is well tested. As with any engine, if you increase the power (via a bigger turbo or N2O) it will eventuallt break something. Dont try and get an extra 300hp with N2O (or anything else) and expect your engine to survive for the long haul. $ for $ N2O is probably the best performance mod you can get. You wouldn't add a new turbo without dynoing it to set the ignition and fuel up correctly, and the same applies for N2O. Done correctly by someone with experience it is a safe and effective mod.

I am fairly sure you have to set up on Friday, and can not remove your car until Sunday.

For those intending to enter the terms and conditions, as well as payment details are available at http://www.autosalon.org/orderform.asp If I have read it correctly the cost to enter as a club display is $50 each, but it will cost you more if you want to enter the DYNO CHALLENGE or SPL/ dB DRAG RACING CHALLENGE. To enter as a club we must have at least 6 cars. (It may pay to have a few in backup as well) As the club name is critical to how we are grouped it’s important we all use the same name, hence I suggest we use "Skylines Australia" and not abbreviate it to SAU. We will also need power, so if we will need to pay an extra $60. PS Whats the chance of all enterants getting together to plan this. We can use my place if its OK with all of you. As time is running short, I would sugest we meet either this weekend or next weekend. What are your thoughts?

How many of you guys have DVD's or videos of skylines etc drifting and at the drags? I have the HPI 4 and 5 DVD's. In keeping with the theme we could set up a TV or 2 and show the vids. (always a crowd puller)
-
Matt, did you get a chance to talk to Shaun at Boost Worx? Anyone have any ideas on how we could/should display the cars? I will send out PM's later to those who have expressed interest in attending with details on how to pay and dates etc.

I think this translates to the boy racer style of driving, where you only change gears when you hear the valves bouncing :Bang: PS Zagan, when you get a car, and you are allowed to drive it, ask your mum to help you change the gears. :jk:

I have heard that depending upon the type of insurance you take out when shipping you car out, that you can also be held financially responsible for the cost to collect the sunken (sp?) car. I guess this only applies if it sinks in a shallow boat lane.

I am very interested, but would like to see a picture of it on a car to be sure. Dont take this the wrong way, but what is the quality of the bar like? My car is beeing painted by one of the top (most fussy) painters in SA, and if it dose not sit in correctly, or isnt straight he wont touch it. (dont want to waste your time and money shipping it back to you) I am going to pair it up with an impule bodykit, but I am unable to get a front bar at the moment (nor for the forseeable future), hence the need to look at alternatives. PS what would it cost to ship it to Adelaide? (in the next week (2 weeks at the most))

This is a great start. Anyone have any ideas on the type of display / props we should use? (if any at all) it could be a mock up of the drags, a garage/workshop scene etc. etc. If we need to print up cardboard number plates with a logo on them let me know and I can do it at work on the colour laser printer (to meet the concerns about cops collecting rego numbers) Do we have any workshops/companies out there that would like the added attention that this many hot cars will attract? They could possibly set up a display alongside or in amongst our cars. (perhaps D1, AutoPro Tilbrook, MorePower or others)

Min Rotor thickness
4door_Sleeper replied to LastTemptation's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
The original DBA catalogue is incorrect. I was nearly stung and purchased new rotors, but they were not needed as there was enough meat left in my old callipers. Check with your local nissan dealer for the correct measurements, but I think the fronts are 28mm, but the books say 30mm. -
A good driver with good foot control is better than ADS anyway. Whilst its useful for Joe Blow with poor driving skills, a good driver would be quicker around a track without ABS than with it.

Its on the weekend of the 3rd and 4th of July, and would cost $60 per car. But I figure free entry for 2 days is probably worth $50, and you get to see/meet the others contestants setting up their displays.
-
Hey John, what about getting one of your GTR's there - (even if its not ready for the track) I am sure there would be plenty of interest in Australias fastest street GTR (its only a matter of time :-) ) As for rego, why dont we print out (on tin or cardboard) our own SAU plates and cover up your street rego. Kym, will your R33 car be up for a club display? We may be able to get some support from a store (Car Toys, Super Cheep etc.) to help with props or bits to improve the site.

Or you could tap into the fuel pressure regulator at the front of the plenum. (this is where the Profec B picks up the pressure from)

I was just wondering if anyone here was going to enter in the Adelaide Autosalon this year? Is it worth getting a few cars together for a club display? I am hoping mine will be resprayed by then, and I know many of you have excellent cars be it for the quality of finish or the engineering. (or both) Its a good way to promote the club, and may be a start to being recognised by insurance companies and the likes (which can result in better insurance prices) I'm not sure when the applications have to be in, but I will try and find out if others are interested.

I may be going to Melb. next weekend. Is the door in perfect condition? (not worried about the paint), but it must be straight as my current door is OK, but has a few ripples. How much do you want for the door?
-
Hi. My car is getting resprayed at the moment and the painter is concerned about previous repairs to the left rear door. If you have one of these for sale please PM me with a price.

Try posting this in the Victorian forums if you dont get enough replies here

My car was keyed today in the city

Very good, but the monkey made one mistake, it should have rogered him from behind (infront of his mates) and then thrown him off of a bridge (but preferably one without water underneith) -

Hi Chris Shannons have been really good so far. That said I wo'nt here back about the quote and wether they accept it until the end of the week (Not a delay due to shannons, but just a busy week for the assessors) I have a $400 excess to pay (because I cant identify the guilty party) and I need to ring them and check if my rating will be preserved as I have been rating 1 for more than 3 years. That and the fact that they allow monthly payments (without a penalty - ie premiup divided by 12 = monthly payment) I intend to renew with them again. -
