  1. I have been into thei yard (here in Adelaide) They have a mix of imports from both USA and Japan. 8 sec car is a big claim, though it might have been done on slicks, which would be a lot easier than street tyres. The guys in there seem nice enough, and have a R33 they drag here in adelaide, but as I have never bought from them I can't say much.
  2. Please PM the details Erica, I am only 50/50 at this stage but want to keep my options open.
  3. MSPEC - I am in the same position as you, and am going to have my brakes done on Monday. I can answer some of your questions: 1.- DBA Long life Series and DBA 4000 Club-Spec Series are not the same rotors. 2.-changing the standard rotor for a drilled/slotted DBA one with the same calipers and pads will not really improve braking that much, but may reduce brake fade to some extent under severe braking conditions. - Changing to good pads will improve braking more than changing the rotors. (rotors will help reduce brake fade) 3.-How wide are your current rotors? the DBA specs are incorrect and state that the minimum thickness is 30mm. (It should be 28mm - you can check with Nissan to verify this). In my case this now means I can keep the standard rotors for a little bit longer and spend the money on machining and pads. The prices I gathered indicate that DBA front rotors cost $850 fitted, and standard ones (from nissan) were cheeper. Rear disc rotors were about $500 from DBA. I believe there is a shortage of DBA rotors at the moment for R33's as they all list them but have trouble locating a pair. I also found out that some GTR rotors are almost identical to GTSt rotors, but you can get some useful information from Racebrakes in Sydney.
  4. Come on guys, how was the cruise? Did you take the same route or a different one? Hope to catch up on the next one, my brakes should be done by then.
  5. Not sure how I missed this thread until now, but I'll put my name in. Do I count as a newcomer???
  6. Whats the problem with the auto? They are just as strong as the manuals, and with a bit of work will always get you down the 1/4 quicker than a manual. I admit the standard autos (even with mods) they are not the best for serious track work, but if manuals are so bad, why have the F1 teams oll gone this way? The other advantage is that with a properly matched torque converter you can install the biggest lagy turbo (with huge RWKW) and still come on boost quickly. I dont have any objection to a manual, but I dont understand the rush many people are in to change from the auto.
  7. My only pic at this stage is in my avtar. Series 1 R33 GTS25t Auto Power FC - (yes it works with the auto) 3 inch exhaust FMIC (how common were 5 speed manual 4 doors? Someone told me they were all autos.
  8. He could have just given it to me, and said it was stollen. I'm not gready, and this offer stands for any high powered, modified GTR owners. (please) :-)
  9. Or take the head off, use brass valve stem guides and add hardened valve seats. The benefit is that you can tidy up the cylinder head, raise or lower the compression and know you wont have to touch it again for qute a while.
  10. Is this the profec b, or the profec a?
  11. Nelson Mandela is sitting at home watching TV and drinking a beer, when he hears a knock at the door. When he opens it, he is confronted by a little Japanese man, clutching a clip board and yelling, "You Sign! You sign!" Behind him is an enormous truck full of RB26's. Nelson says to him, "Look, you've obviously got the wrong man," and shuts the door in his face. The next day he hears a knock at the door again. When he opens it, the little Japanese man is back with a huge truck intercoolers. He thrusts his clipboard under Nelson's nose, yelling, "You sign! You sign!" Mr Mandela is getting a bit hacked off by now, so he pushes the little Japanese man back, shouting: "Look, go away! You've got the wrong man! I don't want them!" Then he slams the door in his face again. The following day, Nelson is resting, and late in the afternoon, he hears a knock on the door again. On opening the door, there is the same little Japanese man thrusting a clipboard under his nose, shouting, "You sign! You sign!" Behind him are two very large trucks full of GTR body kits. This time Nelson loses his temper completely, he picks up the little man by his shirt front and yells at him: "Look, I don't want these! Do you understand? You must have the wrong name! Who do you want to give these to?" The little Japanese man looks very puzzled, consults his clipboard, and says: (use your best Japanese accent for this bit) "You not Nissan Main Dealer?!"
  12. Pump the throttle??? 1. efi cars are ment to be started with the foot off of the throttle 2. would pumping the throttle actually do anything?? - its not like an old carby that opens up secondary squirters when pumped. 3. when you said you had a pump installed without a FPR, do you mean you removed the standatd/afrermarket FPR on the fuel reguator? if so why?? 4. This may not explain why it flooded, but it indicates a few problems.
  13. Hi again Is the desk still for sale? and is the price negotiable? (can purchase something similar new for that price).
  14. Hey guys, put me down for the next one aswell. Its great not having to put with traffic and finding out what the acr is really capable of. I had no wheel squeel on the corners, but am unsure just how much harder I can push the car. (wasnt prepared to find out with so many big trees and such high speeds) Is there any thought on a track day to help me (and in all honesty probably most of us) furter hone our skills. Still practice makes perfect, so Ill be back for more. PS: my brakes came good after the cruise, I had thought I'd warped the rotors after one fast section. Has anyone ever experienced this and have any ideas on how to stop it happening again. (short of having to fit 16 inch brembco's)
  15. You name dropper Dean.
  16. A great cruise there were about 9 cars in total that went out throuth Inglewood, williamstown and back down the George to Athelstone. A nice cruise with a mix of tight turns and high speed sweepers. Plenty of stops for everyone to regroup, and a little white barina (or some such car) to overtake us again, and again and again - only to have us all FLY past it 5km down the road. For those interested there was a slow R33GTR up the front, 2 R33GTSt's, a 200SX, R32 GTSt, 2 WRX's and an RX7 (did I miss anyone?) Thanks everyone
  17. I may be interested too. My wife cant decide between a station wagon or my 4 door skyline, so this may be the ideal compromise. Any pics would be apprecialed as well as km's, when complied, mods (is any). Another quich question, is it a 4 wheel drive as per the R32GTSt4's (shoiwwing my ignorance here) but I thought there was an R32 baby godzilla that had a RB25DET and auto 4 wheel drive.

  24. I wonder if he has someone come over and reset his ckocks ofr daylight savings time. :slap:
  25. How far are you planning to take the car? I guess IMHO the PFC is a simple plug and play device that is more then suitable for most mild upgrades, but if you are looking at bigger upgrades the Motech probably has more room to expand.
