How do I install a Malpassi Rising Rate Reg?
4door_Sleeper replied to 4door_Sleeper's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I am going to try and cut the base off of the stock regulator and weld it onto the malpassi input line. -
I'd be interested in a SAU group show (just to show them that all skylines dont have too have 2 doors;) ). These days can be good fun, someone brings a BBQ, someone els the drinks, uh-huh: food etc.:

How do I install a Malpassi Rising Rate Reg?
4door_Sleeper replied to 4door_Sleeper's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
H'Day EnricoPalazzo I was hoping for some pics aswell, maybe over the weekend. Last Friday I was just dropping in to say G'Day - couldnt realy go on the cruise as my wife and kids were all at home sick with the gastro bug. Once I get the fuel pump, regulator and a dyno tune though I'm looking forward to some good cruzes. Hoping for in excess of 200 RWKW -
How do I install a Malpassi Rising Rate Reg?
4door_Sleeper replied to 4door_Sleeper's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Thanks for the repilies guys, but I am still a little confused. Why would I keep the standard pressure reg? Has anyone got pics? -
I went to pick up a hi flow malpassi rising rate regulator today but got a shock when I saw it. :alien: I thought it could fit at the front of the fuel rail, and replace the factory one but I noticed the following problems. 1 - the malpassi has 2 inlets (I think) and one outlet on the bottom, as well as the vacume line whilst the little factory unit has one inlet, and one outlet. (What do I do with the 2nd inlet?) 2. how do you mount it to the end of the fuel rail? the fitting for the original is a screw on item, and the fittings provided look VERY incompatable. Any instructions, photos or information would be greatly appreciated.

ecenshu, I THINK "track" is the distance from the center of the left tyre to the center of the right tyre. [_] [_] |........| The reason for limiting changes in track are to do with the loads on the stub axles. ie if you go much wider in track, the forces it exertas on the stub axle under load will be greater. [____] [____] |...............| This dosnt mean you cant increase the width of tyres though, just that they need to increase both in towards the center of the car and out towards the gards in the same proportions (think pro stock style with tubs) which may involve modifying the inner guard. [___] [___] |........| PS hope my artwork helps explain my poor description

Hi This isn’t really my area, so please don’t take my word as gospel, buy surly if you crank the engine over you are still going to cause a similar amount of damage as you would if it were to fire up cold. I too have been considering a system to give better protection for cold stars and recall that in the US in the 70's (Dodge Darts, 426 Hemi etc) they had a pressure loaded oil cylinder that they released prior to starting. (I think it filled slowly during normal operation via a one way valve, which can be released/bypassed prior to starting) The idea was that it primed all of the oil system. Alternatively an electric pump that taps into your existing system could be used to prime the system. I don’t know if you can buy such parts, or if in the long run it makes much difference, but it would give me piece of mind.

I too am interested in responces to this question. I have simmilar mods and my injectors are at about 90+% duty cycle. I question running 15-19 PSI with a factory turbo (though I have heard on this forum of those who do) but I think Ill stick with the safer 11-13psi pange. PS - what prices can people get these for, as i dont see many come up on the for sale forums.

Great cruise, had a good time. Hope the Familiar wasn't too brused (in daylight) from the bush bash. Maybe next time Ill leave the trouble and strife behind and then I will be able to keep up. (no nagging from the left seat)

Anyone interested in a pre cruise - cruise starting about 8:30 and then meet up with the others at 11:00? My reasons are that I have got the kids (3 and 5yrs) and although they like to go out for a hoon ("Go faster daddy", and "that car's slow - its not a skyline") 11:30 is getting too late for me to start a cruise with them. I thought others may be in the same boat or have to start work early Sunday morning.

If it doesn’t happen tonight how about a cruise next weekend. There is a nice run from the NE, out towards Gawler and back down the George and into town.

ROFL Sad thing is if you touch up the photos a little and placed it on eBay someone would make an offer.

Hybrid Intercooler kit for R32, R33, R34 $1100 UPDATED!!!
4door_Sleeper replied to Jet's topic in Group Buys
Jet please take me off your list of purchasers, I think Ill get one myself whilst I am still young enough to enjoy it. Whilst I reaslise that delivery may be out of your control, this thread has been going for 3 months now and we still havnt had a delivery. If these things were comming in by air then they should have arrived within a few days, not weeks. Ill continue to follow this thread but its my guess that sone time soon a message will go out telling everyone that the deal is off. Again I dont blame you Jet, its just that I want an intercooler now and not as a xmass present. -
Sorry HOTR33 I cant help you with those figures, but Ill give you a free bump

JimX, im interested, what details do you have? are they in a car and running at the moment? what price? -
I'm having trouble believing some of what I'm reading here. Have some of you lot passed year 10 physics yet ;-) 1. "The 1kW you might gain is not even worth the time spent on installing i would say." - 1KG - I drop turds heavier than that and I am yet to in forums such as "12 second skyline" the importance of the driver taking a crap prior to hitting the strip. Only jockies and F1 teams worry about 1KG. Using this logic why bother installng a FMIC that weighs more than the cut down factory option, and as for larger turbos, do i need to worry about the weight they add? 2. If the additional weight translates to more power at a rate better than the cars original power to weight ratio its got to be worth it. ie a 1000kg car wit 100rwkw then adding 1Kg you need to increase the rwkw by 0.1 to maintain the ratio (yes its a simplified example and i am aware of the mathematical floor in these numbers bet it demonstrates my point) 3. Whilst there is some merrit in the argument that in street driving the cooling benifits are not occuring when needed, have you considered the fact that the water will cool down the "heatsink" faster and hence the efficiency of the FMIC will be available sooner. And in addition any increase in the cooling efficiency (at any time whilst running) is still benificial. anyway thats my 2c for what its worth.
