  1. The grass on the otherside always looks greener.......... its human nature Real wisdom is in reconising that what looks greener isnt always better (here ends the lesson) PS - for every hot chick you see, there are probably 10 guys who have already been there, and moved on.
  2. Do you want to borrow my wife then? My daughter will be comming to Kadina with me anyway.
  3. As posted in the original thread - Do you have an SAFC ot other piggy back device? I had a similar problem that turned out to be a problem with the wiring at the ECU plug. (possibly caused when they put in the SAFC) It was easy to diagnose the loose ECU conection, just remove the pasengers kick plate, start the car and then wriggle/pull on the plug and individual wires near the ECU. (you dont need to be rough, the bad connection faults under driving vibration so no real force needed). If the car splutters or cuts out you have confirmed the problem, then just repeat until you find the correct wire (you can also pull the plug off and spray the whole lot with electrical cleaner and reconnect after it dries out) Hope this helps. PS Coopers Draught LOL

  5. I wouldnt change the coolant (unless its about due anyway) I would change the oil (unless it was changed just prior to taking it off the road) Oil is cheap, if the k's on the oil are low just do an oil change and keep the same filter (if cash is tight).
  6. Mine works a treat, temp rarely moves above warm, (it used to sit in the middle, now its only half way there) Check it out if you are going to Kadina this weekend.
  7. I have space in my car if you need Craig.
  8. Is she the 4 foot high blond with a flat head and no teeth? if so she can ride in my car LOL
  9. If you get a length of garden hose (about 1m) you can hold 1 end to your ear and the other you poke around the engine bay (running or not). It will act like a doctors stethoscope and help you accuratly locate noises (vacume leaks) in places you can't/won't get your ear to.
  10. Its not just the western suburbs, there is a burnt out Marone 33 GTSt shell on Elizabeth St (Fairview Park) as well. Anyone heard of someone looking for a stolen car?
  11. Its called "Layering", and as said, the layers need to cure (usually 24 hrs) before reapplying. If you check out some of the professional detailing/polishing forums they have lots more information on it. I believe it enhances the final finish, but its a diminishing return (the first layer makes the most difference, subsequent layers only improve the finish little bit more).
  12. Sincew the car was resprayed I have taken good care of the paint and have very few (if any) swirl marks. I usually: Wash the car Clay it with the Meguiars Clay bar and Quick Detailer for lube Wash the car again apply Meguiars NXT Gen Tech Wax Wash the car again Apply 2 coats of Meguiars Hi Tech Yellow Wax. I have read that I can get a better finish if I use the Z2-pro after the second wash and before the wax. I am after clarity and shine here rather than correcting defects (as there are very few).
  13. I know of polyglaze, its been around for ages. Its not bad, but the Dodo and Zaino are supposed to be much much better.
  14. Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced polisher such as the Mothers Palm Polisher (I don't need to do correctional work) and where to get it? (or do you have one I can borrow) I am also after stores that sell Dodo or Zaino polishes. I have been using the Maguires range, and they are fine but would like to try some of the better stuff, in particular the Zaino Z2pro or Dodo light fantastic to get the silver to POP.
  15. Great I had a work mate travel to Pt Augusta last week and she was complaining about the roadworks, if they end at waterloo cnr road, it wont be a problem if I head up kings road to the servo.
  16. has anyone been up Pt Wakefield rd recently? Last I heard it was a 25km/hr zone for so far that it was quicker to go out through Gawler and cut back across. Considering the roadworks and that most of us will have detailed cars, is it worth considering another route?
  17. Jan 2003 FTW (back then most of us were on Skylines Downunder)
  18. Its only worthwhile if your old coils are playing up. Spitfires are cheaper than the nissan coilpacks, but are no better. There is lots of info on this in the performance forum. (its not really an upgrade)
  19. Just a few questions: How would police know if an individual car was speeding? (easy to say any car traveling over 60km/hr is speeding, and it makes good revenue ) There is more to driving than stopping distances. Are the roads up to an acceptable standard? Poor road surfaces have a huge impact regardless of the cars ability. In the end it will never happen, its too hard, too easy to critisize and there isnt enough votes in it (lower the speed limit even further though and then you will win votes- unfortunatley)
  20. yes steve - I have entered.
  21. Ring Mark (the organiser - his number is on the entry form on page 1) and ask.
  22. Kelly, take one every 4 hours until whilst symptoms persist
  23. My brother only buys Snap-on, his kit must be worth 20k by now, but they are good quality and will be replaced for free (without questions) if they ever break (try getting that service with sidchrome) Im not a mechanic by trade so havent gone as overboard, but I have found Craftsman tools (from Sears in the USA) to be well priced and good quality.
  24. Congratulations, thats got to be a great relief.
  25. Congratulations New SA plates should read "SA - the romance state" LOL
