just waiting for reply from AMS. They are the torqline US distributor and seeing if they can offer anything decent. Otherwise we'll confirm numbers and go straight to the UK mob and get this happening.
-
Just spoke with Mark at PST (sorry Dazmo, too early to call you). Price is US$1099 so nearer AU$1025 with the currency around 1.08. 3 1/4" carbon tube which includes joints on each end, ready to bolt in to your car. Weighs around 12 lbs = 5.4kg. rated to 1000 ft lbs of torque (1355 nm). Said he could make one rated to 1350 if need be for an extra couple of hundred bucks. shipping likely to be around $150 mark. Edit: Torqline shaft failure load in excess of 4000nm. I know which one i want. just need to find the extra $$$.

-
PST...i don't like hearing about failures but looks like service was pretty decent. http://www.aus300zx.com/forum/archive/index.php/t-304402.html

talk is that drive/sprint bathurst will be 14-18 Nov also.

you can buy the driveshaft shop ones for 1450 delivered (probably cheaper but need to negotiate). the torqline ones which have been designed and made by the same guys that supply the fia/gt3 cars etc cost about 2100 plus any duties you get slapped with on the way in from the UK. the ones they put in those cars weigh 2kg...i didn't get the cost of that but i would imagine more than my car. The torqline one weighs in at 5.9kg. Driveshaft shop circa 7.5kg.

might be group buy time. but doubt too many people will stump up that amount of money after the acpt dramas.
-
Just spoke to Oliver from torqline in the uk. Price is 1240gbp for 1, drops to 1150gbp each if your order 3 and drops to 1070gbp if you order 6. If you add shipping of circa 200gbp then you're up around 2100 - 2200 aud delivered. Problem is that you'll get jammed for duties on the way into aust....might as well call it $2500. But, it does seem to be the most reputable cf shaft I've found so far.

R34 Gtr Wheels With Tyres
tk80 replied to parraboi's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
anyone running these with 6-pot alcons? have seen one set on a 32 and the caliper was digging grooves into the wheel. -
extra $500 on top the one i've linked....plus shipping. it would want to be a good piece. is 2kg lighter though. i think i'd feel more comfortable with a local distributor in case something goes pear-shaped...like with Piggaz. waiting for feedback on that uk link.

Volk Te37's Rims - Amongst The Nicest On A R33 Gtr?
tk80 replied to Spunky Munky's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
agreed. but what size in their range is going to sit nicely on a 33? i have 10.5" +12's which i think are perfect. -
and which one did you have? can pm me if you don't want to disclose on here.
-
approx 7.5kg. how bad is the shaking/vibration? car is track only but still don't want to rattle down the road.
-
Yep...got americanised after looking at that website. They have a local distributor. I look forward to laughing at the price difference to what the manufacturer has quoted on their site. Anyway...feedback...who's got some?

Looking for feedback from gtr owners who have put a carbon driveshaft in their car. There seems to be mixed opinions on whether you can feel the difference in acceleration. i'm getting towards the end of modifying my car. If i can drop 7 or 8kg and have quicker acceleration from the same mod i think it will be worth the money. also, anyone deal with these guys? http://www.driveshaftshop.com/import-driveshafts/nissan/nissan-skyline-r33-95-98-awd-gt-r-carbon-fiber-driveshaft seems cheap enough. and for all those search nazi's...yes i've searched and i'm sick of reading about the acpt debacle. i just want owner feedback.

Have only used sucrogen so far. i queried the 3rd gear thing. They told me they don't like running cars over 200kmh. Revving out 4th you'll be up around 240ish in most gtr's so i don't really blame them. if i wanted a highway warrior i'd look at -10's or the gtx turbos you're all talking about but for the money you can't go past -5's for the track.
-
-5's do the job just fine.

Yes, i can see a time where i'll be buying pump e85. hopefully the consistency will improve as i've heard of a few bad batches from rozelle. Having said that, the tuner has told me as long as the octane is above 105 then the engine will be safe.
-
price has just gone up to $550 a drum. I've spent a heap of $$$ on an engine build and i'm happy to spend the extra dollars to buy sucrogen for a little while to be guaranteed the same octane/quality of fuel every time. in my opinion it's especially important during the testing/tuning phase otherwise it becomes another variable. I'm sure spending this amount on fuel is going to sh*t me soon, but for now i just put it down to part of the expense of building a big hp motor.

http://www.gettoolsdirect.com.au/fuel-transfer-equipment/macnaught-gp-rapid-flow-hand-pump.html just used mine for the first time and couldn't be happier. expensive but does the job very quickly and very easily. emptied every last drop from drum without tilting also.
