you have just been lucky emsta. i have been pulled over 3 times in the 7 yrs ive had my car and in all instances it was just day to day driving. coincidentaly it has only started happening in the last 3 yrs with a the "hoon" this and "hoon" that and the fact that my car doesnt look stocker anymore with rims exhaust and suspension. i got defected for the first time a couple of weeks ago for uneven tyre wear and low exhaust pipe which was 1cm too low. fair enough the exhaust was low but getting a major defect and a fine because of my wheel alignment settings was abit of a joke. even when i was getting the car cleared by vic roads, one of the inspectors checking another car had a chuckle to the inspector say "this should be a good one, whats the list of goodies that you have to check?" he didnt have much of a reply when she said wheel alignment and ground clearance. it seems to be a given now days with imports, nothing like 7 yrs ago. unfortunately the only way around this is to modify the car legally, an avenue that ash is taking i think, or make it appear legal. its a catch 22. you just have to make sure the big f-off turbo and all the other mods passes emmisions tests and get a piece of paper that says so. i'm assuming its a timely and costly process that most owners ignore, but it is achievable.

yep spray with contact cleaner but be gentle with the spray and leave to dry.

have you pin-pointed exactly where the nois is comming from? turbo? front of the engine? i had a loud screeching whistle noise on boost that turned out to be turbo + manifold gasket leak. it didnt affect idling though.

what are the chances the greddy ones are just ngk rebadged? are they iridium too? id say its $60 for 6. theres only so much you can do to sparkies yes no?

i guess if you really like the sound then in the end its your call. i drove a rex with one and after a day of driving i was over the sound..ha. negatives outweigh the positives in my books so i stuck with the stocker. i still get the pshh sound with my arc box, just not as loud though.

pretty sure its a reminder sticker to "do" your timing belt at 100k. if it had been done it wouild have a date of when it was done.

why doesnt someone turn their 34 into a mazda? the thing still got its stocker engine in it.

im pretty sure all series of the 33's use the same cooler and yes the 34's are taller and thicker which means an increase in working capacity. they are a direct bolt on. I have one on my series 1.5 if that makes any difference and i think its a good simple upgrade.

not really, its that slight play and metal on metal that makes it sound like its buggered. your shocks are dead if they are leaking or making a shhhh sound when going over bumps. i have HA's on my car and i have those knocks too on my right front and rear.

i got 199kw with 11psi stock ecu, exhaust cam gear, exhaust, intake, and 34 smic which surprised the crap outta me. dunno about the profec but with the blitz one i got if you set the gain too high it over boosts past the limit and retards the ratio to settle it back down. once you get the combo of gain and ratio right it holds boost fine. maybe check if your ebc has those parameters to play with.

oddly my mate just upgraded to a bigger bike from 250's and he says eventhough its bigger and has more power its alot safer to ride because you can sit on a cruising gear and still tap that power to get out of trouble......much like an RB hey? i was never a big fan of the ninja's...my pick would be an aprilia, NSR SP (dohan colour scheme), or an RGV (luckey strike colour scheme). get a cbr if you want something thats "safer" with less maintenance that you can easily let go of later on.

are you removing parker or main bulbs? main bulbs have a metal clip, the parkers are just twist open. take a pic, post it up and someone will point it out for ya

33's arent the nicest rims...id rather buy 32 ones instead and would only pay$250 -$300 depending on how desperate i am. i sold 2 of my rims for $100. i think you will get more selling the tyres seperately. having a mate that can whack some free good tyres on that would have been thrown out at a dealer workshop so you can sell the stockies cheap would work out well.

i think any qualified engineer wont risk their licesnse to pass something that is obviously illegal. it aint cheap either i think. technically your car is deemed illegal hence the reason why the ones you have spoken to have knocked you back. your gonna have to pass the emmisions test which by the sounds of your mods you might not? id say you'd have to make your car legal again to clear the defect. dunno about hipower for P's though. maybe someone else with experience can answer that one. ive got a low exhaust pipe that i might have to re-weld to clear my defect. gotta do what you gotta i guess.

i paid 88 per hr for labour and 77 for wheel alignment. should only take an hr to install.

hey all i have a dual n1 apex exhaust and got defected for the second pipe that runs under the diff being 1cm too low. i have the option to try and mount smaller rubber brackets to try and raise it or cut and re-angle that second pipe which i really dont want to do but will do so if it means not getting defected for it in the future. the car sits at 350 all round at the moment so its not that low really. does anyone else have this exhaust and do you guys have clearnce issues? cheers.
