Monitors...whats Your Poison
(B1) MR_fanny replied to (B1) MR_fanny's topic in PC & Games Discussion
yeah ive now accepted that im not gonna get anything super crash hot for my budget..ah well. As long as its decent and reliable that'll do me. Your right about BenQ, those prices are pretty darn good. Think ill drop by harvey normal some time and have a look at some in person to get a better idea. Thanks for the input guys -
yeah letter of complaint works well in any event. it may reach the right person. it may just be that one more on the pile of complaints from others towards that particular officer to warrant questioning. you may think a letter wont do much but you'll never know if you dont try. Get stat decs from your friends in the car saying that they thought the manner and conduct was rude and unprofessional and so on. Its therapy too, like an Opra episode i watched...ha write it all down, get it out of your system and move on....though with Opra they tell you to burn the letter afterward to release the anger but you should just mail it. but like people have said, its a hard case to battle and sometimes its easier to just pay the fine eventhough its bullshit. is there legislation out there that lists what a major defect comprises of? i got done with my second exhaust pipe being 1cm too low but he got out the measuring wheel to show me. He wasn't a prick bout it and my attitude towards him was he was just doing his job to which im sure he respected. If you give em lip or attitude, expect the worst really.

Monitors...whats Your Poison
(B1) MR_fanny replied to (B1) MR_fanny's topic in PC & Games Discussion
Man that links gonna take me a while to get through..ha. thanks That benq sounds like a bargain. thanks fellas for the input. i did abit more research into montiors after i posted and S-IPS or H-IPS pannels are the top dogs but by the looks of it they cost an arm and a leg..lol the one that keeps on popping up is the NEC 2490 but I can't seem to get a price on it but im guessing $1500 which is still abit overkill for where I'm at. Isnt it always the case that you want the best but your wallet pimp slaps you back to reality. I'm not doing any graphics for press or videos for production so I think i can get away with just a TN pannel for now i guess, its more the increase in screen realestate that I'm after cause all the menu's on these programs I use take up a fair bit of space. Mayuri: yeah something like that. Pretty much what my 19" is displaying but with a couple more inches in space around for me to work with if that makes any sense so no black bars. So what should I look out for in terms of "native resolution and scaling" courtesy of the link which would probably answer my question if i read further, in terms of getting a monitor that won't "stretch" the desktop and give me true or close to 1:1 images....just native resolution or is there a particular ratio? Gonna have to read more into colour gamut me thinks. And here i thought buying a new monitor would be easy. -
So im in the market for a 24" or 26" monitor. Can anyone recommend me anything? My old monitor and lcd tv are samsung and so im leaning towards the brand again. will be mainly used for graphics work, modeling and video editing as a docking station for my laptop. One thing that is a must is not having stuff stretched out on all those wide screen monitors Ive been seeing lately. I just want a true increase in realestate for all my app menu's. Any feedback much appreciated Cheers.

by running dry and filling up you probably have disturbed sediment in teh tank and that has now been picked up and circulated through the system. try replacing your fuel filter to see if it helps. thats my assumption.

this spot will be snapped up pretty quick i recon. theres a fair few good photographers here. I've got the eye but not the equipment...lol

that turned out quite nice. not too over the top

you can do it without removing the bar. take whichever plastic wheel arch covers off unbolt one 10mm bolt that holds bracket to chassis indicated in the circled pic above below the indicator side then remove all the other obvious bolts and screws inside the enginebay done. Once you know what yoru doing you dont need to remove the wheel arch covers.

Do You Still Self-maintain Your Car?
(B1) MR_fanny replied to dirzsignature's topic in General Automotive Discussion
i did industrial design. What i would like in a cabinet is storage for tool sets storage for small stuff storage for large stuff detatchable led mechanics light so you can stick in the engine bay, maybe even put lights where tool sets are so you can easily see them if your working in poor light a manual pump oil dispencer so you can just fill the container in the cabinet and then just pump and fill via a hose to your engine. that way if you use the same oil all the time whats usually left over from the new oil can be topped up with another container when needed. something to wipe your hands on say a towel dispenser or rags power extention cable or sockets maybe so you can plug shit into it like drills and soldering iron...etc depending on how big it is cause you say storing tyres, include a medium sized air compressor and retractable hose. I would preferr a metal cabinet because its more manly, but it doesnt really win you points in environmental design so mix it up with some recycled plastics. and most importantly, a beer holder....or two If you get a HD or an award for this project i want you to mention my name in your speech..ha -
SLR5000 would be the beez kneez....maybe they should dust off mad max's car. Would it be surprising to see vin hopping out of eric bananna's car? oh whats the model that comes in white with blue racing stripes and cobra stickers?

Pod Filter Installation?
(B1) MR_fanny replied to snoopy4eva's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
its just a matter of taking out your stock box and attatching the pod to the afm. I would have considered this to be one of the easiest mods to do. Only issues you may face is having the wrong diameter to fit onto the afm and bracketing and CAI partitioning if your going down that path. -
ah do tell kev That sucks...ruined it for the rest

are we talking about the wirring sound on idle? cause everything else sounds normal. if it is the wirring sound my bet is its an aftermarket timing belt. My car makes the same sound though not as loud even though I used a genuine timing belt for the 100k service. I can really hear it when i blip the accel. but i agree with grigors diagnosis
