  1. Lol:D:D
  2. well if the gtr's are substancially thicker than stock gts and its dirt cheap then go for it. id just pay that little xtra for whitelines cause simply theyre new and adjustable. they dont cost that much either, i picked mine up for $160 each. i remember something like the part numbers were identical to the s14's or something quirky like that.
  3. deposited and faxed the order form today. cheers
  4. yes i think its a good idea. ive been keeping part numbers in a txt file and adding too it when i see something new:D ive only got a handfull so far. good idea to put contacts for cheap parts there too. as for the whining noise does it eventually go away geoff??
  5. its very very simple if u do it right. i assume u know where the motor is right. well all u do is get a small mirror stick it inside the door and ull see 3 fat gold screws. thats whats holding the motor to the window arms bracket. unscrew these 3 but be VERY careful not to strip the heads as theyre soft metal. once thats done loosen the 4 bolts on the outside that hold the window arms bracket to the door frame. do not completly take the nuts off. just enough to push the braket in to make room to dislodge the motor gear and pop it out. then its a simple matter of replacing it with the new one, lining it up, screwing the 3 gold bolts back in and tightening up the rest. very simple job if you do it right. i managed to take the first 2 bolts off but then stripped the third so i had to take everything out, scratching my tint and make a 20min job into a 1hr job....but now i know better and now i pass on the knowledge to u grasshopper:D:D have fun, its very easy.
  6. awsome....i got quoted $170 at my local bearings place. cheaper at the source i guess:D will have to get me a pair.
  7. u sure its not the aircon?? very common problem for r33 skylines as the cog or whatever has dislodged or something and just keeps on clicking over for a couple sec' s after ignition.
  8. ive hooked up an led thru the lighter and its not on all the time. only when u turn the light on.
  9. i think ur talking about the nismo solid shifter. and yep i do think they damage synchros over time?....depends on how you shift really.
  10. pay less for cash:D
  11. yeah when i joined last yr it was a rockin but its pretty much died out now or everyones actually doing work.
  12. actually it sounds like those in cabin race vids/feeds where u hear the whining of the gearbox. sure does make it sound like you got a tuff box but not the best sound to listen to for a daily driver:D:D
  13. that makes alot of sense, i can even hear the starter motor turning over chrisply thru the shifter itself..its bizzare. glad to hear that this sound is normal though it is slowly driving me nuts:D:D
  14. yeah i was thinking of using some rubber washers or place thin rubber where metal meets metal. theres no rattling at all , just alot of whining:D
  15. hey guys, i just installed a C's copy short shifter in my 33. installation was easy thanks to pranks DIY and it feels great, very solid and short. but its damn noisy as in i can actually hear the gearbox whine through the gears over the exhaust note. no noise prior to installation 2hrs before. just want to know if this is normal for a short shifter because of the way that its fixed onto the gearbox thru the base plate and clamps and that it transfers the noise of the gearbox thru the shifter itself. is this normal?? if not how can i reduce the noise?? my skyline sounds like my dads old crappy datsun:D:D
  16. have u tried a wheel alignment yet? did u get new tyres or were ur tyres rotated lately?sometimes could be due to uneven tyre where if u swapped ur backs to ur fronts.
  17. comes with bushes too...what ud normally get in a swaybar kit. best bet is to replace all the bushes if u can:D im no expert though.
  18. i would have been tempted to put my car in reverse if i was in ur position to make it look like im reversing and then start beeping and wave my hand out the window tellin the old geeza in the jag to move back from where he pulled out from cause i need to back up. then if he does back up, signal the chick in the barina to move up so theres absolutely no room for the git to push in again. i absolutely hate people, esp old people who think that theyre always in the right.
  19. nah u dont need a wheel alignment. ideal street settings should be medium at the front and soft at the back i think. ..dont quote me on that though:D when i got mine done i set it to med front and hard back. the first time they installed the back the did it wrong, it was pre-loaded so it was supper stiff and you could really feel it and get the tail end out anytime u wanted to. i now understand the principles of those super thick/stiff dori bars in japan:D got them to reinstall it correctly and i could notice the difference in the rear end, wasnt as tight as before. all comes down to settings and how u like to drive i guess.
  20. i still havent gotten my membership yet.....can i sign up next meet or somthing?
  21. yeah when i was there in aug i watched that show late at nite when i found out there wasnt much to do in osaka during the weekdays:D......that girl was pretty cute and she always got a ride or some tips from the pro D1 drivers. ur right it was too short, only 1/2hr show.
  22. more like he looked like he was reaching for his bicycle pump which u thought was a gun:D:D....then u snapped him one:D
  23. prices seem to be decent as theyre landed in australia already. yeah???
  24. was he wearing a helmet? you could get him for that. and whats he doing riding recklessly in the middle of the road. and how the hell is he supposed to accurately know how fast ur going unless he was magyver or something. you should have just ignored him, give him a blank happy look with a smile and see how long he goes at it before he realises hes talking to himself. he lives around the corner? the first thing you should have done was follow him to find out where exactly he lives cause he obviously knows where you live. or reply back "yeah i know" so you make him paranoid too. but if u really want to be anal about it you could go to the cop shop and file a complaint and give a discription so its on record incase anything in the future happens. would help if u knew who or where he lived though. were there any witnesses?? dont loose sleep over it though. unfortunately there are people like that out there.
  25. these swaybars in my opinion are worth every cent. i got my front and rear adjust for $320 +66 for installation cause it only took an hr but in highsight would have only cost $30 if i had of done the rears myself. the fronts were just too dificult. as for performance with stock suss, they significantly reduce body roll. i honestly felt the difference straight away just buy driving out of the workshop when i picked the car up. the car does occasionally skip slightly over bumps but thats because i set the rear to hardest...but thats the way i like it. .....best money ever spent.
