In the end I gave up, the problem just kept returning no matter what I did, the plug spraying always cured it but only in the sort term, I looked at the options available and settled for the Tomei hicas lock kit, mainly because it is fairly simple with the hicas unit staying there but locked with spacers and a elec unit to fool the main ecu into thinking all is good with it, the other option is a lock bar which replaces the hicas unit. I never got the diag to work either.

Yeah I choked on my beer when he quoted me, it was afterwards but im glad i didnt get it when they did the screen.

They wanted $150 for the rubber and $125 to fit it, the nissan one cost $97 and with some advice from 7OYRB I fitted it myself.

Across the road from James Hardies in Carol Park there is a grey S1 parked everyday in the paper place I havent spotted the driver yet. I heard a mean sounding car in the hyperdome car park under BigW yesterday it was a grey S1 as well.

When I had to do mine I got O'briens to do the job, they replaced it allright but the plastic bead that covers the outside was stuffed as well (from age) thier price on a replacement aftermarket was outrageous, so I got a factory one from nissan (slacks creek) at a much lower price.

If you look closely at these pics you can see where the reo is cut underneath but the top didnt need to be touched as it sit beneath it.
