When I answered the 100 Qs thread, i replyed on a Q that there wasnt any thing wrong with my car, but there was technically, the sunroof gap. It always annoyed me that it wasnt flush when closed, and apart from that, when it rained, water would pour through the corners and leave that wet smell, even though it drained properly. After some inspiration from an earlier thread, I learned how to get to seat of the problem was by packing the glass, I always thought the guide stop points just needed adjustment but I could never find a How to. The first step is to remove a clip stud, this has a screw part, that you remove first then the stud. With the sunroof up, you then pull the cover off, this has 4 locators as indicated, the inner prongs come first, then the whole thing pulls out of the other 2. When that is done you can see the 3 (M10 spanner) nuts that are either removed or loosened enough to get the packers in and out, if I had known I would of left them in because the forward one is a biatch to get out/in. Then it's was a matter of figuring the thickness for the packers to insert to make it flush, this was acheived with some rubber and plastic packers that I cut to shape and played abit with each corner untill I was happy. To end up with the this result I noticed while doing this that rest position for up/down is different to the forward/back spot, not by much but enough to warrant more adjustments, this difference I put down to the sealing effect of the rubber and slight wear in the whole mechanism, which I'm not too worried about as it works good and doesnt seem like breaking. I should add that the glass will be able to be removed when all 6 of those nuts are taken off.

take the cap off the radiator and fill it up, are there any bubbles coming out? does the car overheat? have you lost alot of coolant? If you are in doubt go to any radiator place and get them to check it, peace of mind over lots of work.
-
The oil change at 5,000 is more insurance for the turbo than the motor. I change the oil at 5,000ks and the filter at 10,000ks.
-
It is possible that the new packs are series 2, because the inigtor is built into the series 2 coils and series 1 has a separate ignitor for all, and the last half of 95 the series 2 motor was in the series one body, they call them series 1.5.

Depends what you mean by kill, They wear because of the job they do sealing the chamber, and as Omurru stated they get brittle.
-
The whiteline kit is a suspension upgrade, bushes, shocks, springs and swaybars, it will improve handling but I dont think it has anything to do with Hicas.
-
I feel your pain, this guy is a dimwit for sure, I hope he holed his radiator at least. LOL at mad082

trouble is that if you take off a wheel for any reason you may need to rebalance. So they say.
-
City suspension next to Dan's work (ABS), its easier than normal really cause they dont take the wheels off, they just jack it up and do it $30 too.
-
I just got an on car front wheel balance 85grams one side and 65 teh other, WOW no wonder I had vibrations, most cars are around 20 grams, much better now.

Common... R33 Rocker Cover Gasket Leak
R33S2 replied to Gianni's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
SteveL: OK, I did that and it came back with the same info displayed above. -
locoloc: are you sure the standard one isnt blocked off with a gasket between the flange? But yes you can run just the one if it will fit on the flange. DFAULT: on most there is a bolt with a lock nut, adjusting this will make it softer or harder.

I wouldn't be surprised what a NSW cop does, it's a fair chance that if they pull you over for something else they WILL try it on. But yes, if its a defectable offense and they notice it, they can.

Yeah I dont think it would hurt too much, but if the rubber pipe cracked it would of lost pressure and then I would lean out, but its all good now, fingers crossed, as it securely attached. the little filter bag had lots of junk on it so I cleaned that and bought a new filter and replaced it as well. So hears hoping I get no more pinging, which I suspect was the dirty filter.
-
Yeah would of been a major lean out
