Depending on how many ancillary bits you need aside from the panels, all those little bits add up, and also on what you can sell from whats left, you would definately need a respray, but repairer time cost the most and it is sort of doubled when you do it that way.

The turbo blanket/Fire blanket stuff, draped over the lines should be all you need unless you are welding very close to them, then I would wrap them and tape them to avoid arcing them, leaks should be avoided like the plague. Have the earth attached as close as possible to the work area and disconnect the battery. Saying that, I do it to customers cars, but have never bothered with any of my own (the battery).

Aluminium sucks for this reason, it tarnishes easily and you have to take a fine layer of actual metal off to get that clean look again, there are products that we use to clean up ali after welding it, it evil stuff though as it can cause bone cancer.

Way to go they are a great car, the fuel smell issue is fairly common and from what I have studied on here it is nothing to worry about unless there is an actual leak, I get it in mine, The flat spot could be a number of things, tune, sparkies, coils, dirty injectors, fuel pump and I'm sure there are more, with 30k spent on it only complicates the analysis, so, as mad082 said, list them all up if you can.

I got the rotors in, It was a simple job and took me 1/2 an hour (while TT was on finished for futurama lol) It was all good except for the dirt/dust, Dan does this every day good on him not even in the steel industry do I get that dirty. Woot Woot While I'm here and all does anyone know how to convert FT/lbs to Nm's? Because my dyno run reads at 1450 odd Ft/lbs.

I just picked up my slotted and dimpled rotors from Dan Woot! I am working tommorrow and then partehin on the goldy then its off to Jambo on sunday, I might have time to fit the rotors this arvo after I do my shopping, which I missed on the way home because I had this nagging BEERY thought so it was Beer, shopping, beer, shopping, beer won. lol mmm tastes good

Talking about trains reminds me of your misfortune shane and some advice that a certain military corp gave me when there was a rash of AJ bashings. If alone and threatened use some coins in your fist to give a bit more bite to your punch, car keys between the fingers are a good deterent and are hard to disarm, finally your belt acts as a good whip to crack at vunerable areas. ah the old days :dreams:
