  6. Not really it could be outer gear box related get it on a hoist or a least a pit of some sort and find the bastard it'll drive you nuts or possibly break and do more damage, then again it could be just a cover of some sort and nothing too bad at all.
  7. Depends on far you want to go, cars I have known to be stored had lots of things deteriorate brake pads, anything made of rubber, clutch, earthing points (a biggy), interior (use those gel crystals that absorb water) to name a few. For the engine take off the tappet covers and spray every thing with at least lanox or heavier, without sparkies fill the motor to the top with a light oil and replace the plugs. Your valves and thier seats are the hardest to protect without getting oily shite in the zoorst but if you remove the manifolds its a breeze and tape up the holes. Condensation is your biggest threat, when the humidity rises in summer, it stays around and sits in places that it normal wouldn't, relays headlights etc. If your past the Great divide its heaps better and the motor is your main concern.
  8. Hows the boost, is your turbo OK? Too many bits in that area to pinpiont just the zoorst.
  9. Pour the first 2 litres in your tank, the taste is better after that. (methonol that is hehe)
  10. I have tried quite a few different types of clamps to try to remove the oil filter and been disappointed by all of them and end up using the screwdriver through the side technique. Execpt this one bought at Repco for $10 the other day. Most of them use a handle that is in line with the filter and usually gives no room to swing it in the engine bay but this one uses a socket wrench fitting along the axis of the filter and it is no problem for swing as it is well away from the motor and it actually grips it with no problems. To some on here it will be old hat but I didnt know of this type as others probably dont.

  12. Legally you should have your pod fixed in place with a bracket and as 'salad' pointed out it is better for this reason. It sounds like it is flooding with fuel, maybe time for a ecu upgrade or remap.
  13. Has anyone used a motech ecu? I have heard some good things about these even with the big price tag.

  16. 10.4ltrs / 100km for my trip last weekend but around town it is in the 12s. Also I read a thread here about driving for eco and it works out better to drive just on boost rather than just off it as the AF ratio's are much better.
