I lost my licence when I was a courier, all little stuff that just added up and up, I gave up after that because the odds are that if your on the road 10hrs a day 6 days a week your gunna do something now and again and if a cop sees it they hammer you, if you think its bad in the modified scene try being a courier.

If I could see it I could tell you whats wrong and maybe fix it. Does the thread on the the stick look OK? or is it worn down and lumpy insted of the usual /\/\/\/\/\/\ shape? You can get helicoils that repair threads or I can weld it and rethread it, without seeing it, its hard to say what to do, post up a pic to give me a better idea.

Try a clamp on the fuel line to restict flow (just joking)

One the originals questions of this thread was/is does handling the stock coil packs help in killing them, I suppose its not worth considering, because if they're going, so is performance, and spark plugs get checked. I was told that to check them use a multimeter set on Ohms with one on earth (base where it bolts on) and inside sparky hole, a reading over 0.9 is dodgy and over 1.5 stuffed. I havent tried it yet just lazy I guess. Confirmation anyone?

The gap of the old plugs was .8 too. What does this point to? The higher boost that you were running So my question is this - what is the better option, re-gap the plugs or increase the boost again? Increase boost again, if it pops and such turn it down and dont boost too much untill you do. Regapping the plugs would only confuse the situation as you have to figure out why it was pinging, as it didnt do it all the time with the old plugs did it?

I had alook into these a while back and was not impressed by the overall concept. They are an 80s car with all the imperfections of that era, theres a mob in the US that can offer any type you want from basic stock to fully stripped and improved everything that is know to go wrong. The only thing they have going for them is they are rare and collectable, I dont think they would loose value now. One of the biggest drawbacks are the stainless body panels, as the repair of them is nigh impossible to get that straight look again and is cheaper to buy new panel even at todays prices, or paint the whole thing, which is an effort if you have ever tried to paint stainless properly.

Much prefered no hassle seeing whats on, the forum doesnt move all that fast but this will pick it up a bit (becoming forum ho help!)

diesel strips all oils off in a parts wash so much that they rust if left outside o/nite but no damage to paint.

That front bar is the only series 1 that I like, good choice and welcome. More members yeah!

The drive into the city from southside is good upto 7ish after that its 40 or less but you get direct acces to city(read no lights). Sydney has cured alot of its traffic problems whereas Brisbane has along way to go yet. I was a courier for 3 yrs there.

Could be wheel bearing, take each wheel off and spin the hub, you should be able to tell if its stuffed if it doesnt spin free. Out of gear and handbrake off for the rear of course.

sounds like the throw-out gear getting stuck while out, a greasing could fix that, but if it is the bush or shaft stuffed it will happen again. Rb20_starter.bmp
