  1. Letting it cool down is for the turbo and only if its glowing from hard work, if a turbo is red hot and is shut down there is the possibility that the cast outer will cool quicker than the turbine shaft, thus pinching it and if started in this critical period will damage the bearing surface, the turbo has water and oil lines running to it and these help to stabilise temps. A ball bearing turbo has significantly less chance of this happening.

  4. You have a few options, none really good though, thinners try it on a piece of vinyl where you can't see it, to see if destroys the surface, there are different types so ask at the paint store, or let it dry rock hard and try scraping off with a hard bit of plastic that wont damage the surface, if youve sprayed protectant on the vinyl (armorall etc) this may work best. If you have protectant on spray some b4 starting as it may help.
  5. I just reading about the new BMW going twin turbo and it says that they are using two different turbos, one for low end response and the other for top end, sounds like a good idea to me and was wondering if anyone on here has tried it, as a lot of threads cover turbo results and they are either good for low or top end end performance and this seems a good way to beat the lag beast. OOpps 330bhp not 166kw (cant seem to edit this out of topic)
