  3. ive just put an rb20det in the front off a 66 skyline that had a L28 in it...... if ya putin in an rb, turbo is the go..... and braking will need to be upgraded... i have fitted volvo vent 4 spot calipers to mine with vented discs...... you might be able to find some one that makes engine mounts...... i had to custom make mine.... as for gearbox mount i was able to bolt the orginal of mine straight to the gearbox... any other help i an give just drop me a pm.....

  5. i work in the maintence game.... if you could get your hands on abs pipe ( grey in colour) glues easly and is extremely resilient to deformation at high temps and pressure. we use this stuff to plumb water to 500t injection moulding machines and i have yet to see one split....its twice the wall thickness of electrical pvc conduit and a hell of a lot stronger...... only down side is you need to leave it to set properly for 24 hours.... good luck on your experiment.....

  8. that is a nice daily, but i like my daily driver better........66 prince skyline gt......... it takes some looks and keeps people guessing for hours. all though i can agree parts for either are bloody hard to find

If compression is an issue with the turbo side of things ( pinging its brain) maybe a decompression plate betwen the head and block might be able to bring the compression ratio down so that you could turbo the l24. Is the l20et head compatible with the l24 block? most L series nissan stuff is interchangable maybe you could do a head to block swap?
  15. i have changed over to an rb20det in my 66 prince skyline gt.... wot is the platform you are starting with( just the engine or complete package?) can take photos of wiring on mine and can give you general idea of wot to hook up if ya wont?/.... just let me know........ if ya wont to look at my cdonversion, half the photots are posted on my web page... addresss in my signature.....
  16. actually, i can talk from experience, i have droped an rb 20 det in the front of my prince gt, you can get the package with the gearbox of there is an adaptor to bolt the orginal L block gearbox to them. as for the tailshaft both the rb and L series gearboxes actually have the same yoke size and spline........ only thing you might have to do is fabricate a set of engine mounts.... the gear box mount is almosrt the same.. for both bolt positions on both gearboxes...... and i think there are mobs out there that have engine mount kits for these conversions... just need to look around abit..... zoom was a good magazine for these sort of articles and information..... any thing is possible...and an RB20det would be a absolute V8 killa in that toy!
  17. try rare spares, they helped me out with my door seals and window seal on my 66 skyline gt
  18. i had the same problem with my head on my L28 in my 66 gt...... Solution....... I droped an rb20 det in the cvar because the head that i was after are like rockin horse poo...blood hard to find. see if ya cant find a cheap complete motor out off another early skyline, or even a recon job.... might be cheaper in the long run
  19. :wassup: good to see some older tin in this palce..... even better with some wantanbees and maybe a 2 inch lowering. give it a electronic ingintion from a 280zx and a decent set of extractors/ exhaust with a set of tripple 40mm webber side drafts. she be a lovely lil weapon that will be a bit of a head turner............ Respect to ya, keep it real!

  24. you should have no worries putting a rb25 in that.... if i can get an rb20det in the fornt of my 1966 skyline gt you should be able to get a rb25/26 twin turbo it yours..... just a matter of mounting.. :boinkcar:
