  1. I don't think we will make this part of the 3 event challenge as I have mentioned this to ESP and they think that we should try and make this a NSW/ACT invitational to ensure that we have a lot of good quality cars. There is even talk of prize money now to entice the NSW owners to join in. The only way this will work if entrants are invloved in all 3 events. More to come. Cheers Ross
  2. I did post up $55 for us as this will probably be the same for when we organise the drag racing event. ESP do have a BBQ, but you might want to see if it's ok for you to use, might be an idea to suggest to the guys that you just bring a gas bottle.
  3. I've just posted on supraforums (http://www.supraforums.com.au/forum/showthread.php?p=715696#post715696) I have made a couple of assumptions; Location: ESP; and This is the 1st of the 3 events that we are trying to make happen. Please let me know if you would like anything changed. Will you be having a BBQ at ESP? This would be a good way for you to generate some funds for your club. Cheers Ross
  4. If you would like me to formally invite the Supra Club, please let me know and I'll start a thread. I'll try and keep to at least 10 Supra's unless you would like me to try and get more. Can I safely say that this is the 1st of the 3 events between Skylines v Supra? Just thinking that we should try and get some sort of a point system happening. Cheers Ross
  5. Danny as in Mazman, the guy that's been posting here, his car is far from grey, it's black, or Danny as in Sicarious123, he has an aerotop pooh brown coloured Supra. Can't think of a Danny with a grey supra.
  6. Danny, there may be some confusion as to who cannot drive for shite on a race track and that should be directed at me. I spent a lot of time on the dirt and I told Johnny boy all about it when we worked together and I was suitably laughed at...... Now that I have my suspension all set up, all I need are some tyres and hopefully I have learnt something about setting a car up for track work/play. Ross
  7. Hi Guys/gals, Would you like me to see if phatass is available to help you with numbers? Better still, when you book the day with Daniel or Glen ask them to see if Terry's car is ready. There's 1000 hp to help you all out. This is your event, not ours and if you would like me to ask the club to assist with numbers then I'll do what I can, but I'll wait for your final decision before I go and do that. We have an idea for a points system, if you want to include this as 1 of the 3 events to be included in the Skyline v Supra. One of these ideas is that the vehicle must be involved in at least 2 of the 3 events to obtain full points for their team. Ross
  8. Of course we are, you do drive Datsuns after all......... j/k Isn't there something happening with Nissan group hiring out Wakefield for an annual meet as well? I only heard this the other day, which ended up reminding myself of our proposed event.
  9. Hi all, There was mention of this day being help sometime in March but this won't be a good time for us Supra owners as most of us will be heading off to the Toyota Nationals over the Easter long weekend (20 March through to 24 March). Unfortunately, the whole ACT club and 90% of our members will be attending this along with quite a few NSW members. We will be holding a meeting in a couple of weeks to discuss our Calander of events and I will bring this up in the meeting. Sorry about this, but I'm old and I keep forgetting shite......... I'll get back to you as soon as possible. Cheers Ross
  10. Every single Supra that went on the dyno was running on pump fuel with the possibility of one having a mix of methanol (TRD 30T). He is currently trying to work out some issue with his car and there is no doubt that he will achieve a much higher figure. OT: John got your email re: combined track day, I'll shoot you an email tomorrow to discuss. Ross
  11. The price of Turbo MKIV Supra's are coming down and there are quite a few on the market these days. It's actually funny that you say that almost half of us were running single turbo setups as I tried to g-up the NSW Supra Club up and see if they would be interested in a dyno comp between NSW and the ACT. The winner would be decided on the highest average, maximum 10 cars per state with 2 of them being N/A. they didn't want a barr of it........ Without a doubt !! Anyone that had my luck at the time would have the same good fortune.
  12. Almost John....... I've spent around $60k on my car but this includes the cost of the car which was $39k over 3 years ago. I was very lucky that when I blew my 1st turbo up 2 years ago that a friend of mine was considering upgrading his single turbo kit. Even though it had only done 1000 kms I bought the kit for around $5.5k. I was even luckier to have a mechanic (Daniel ESP or driveshaft shaftmasters back then) that had performed a single turbo conversion on a Supra before 9his) and within 24 hours of me dropping the kit off to him, my car was ready to be driven away. needless to say, I saved a bucket load on labour. The power of my car went from a standard 177rwkw to around the 300rwkw mark. The next thing I did was fuel system and boost controller and piggyback ECU cost me just over $2.5k and this is where my car is now. 400+ rwkw. These are just the go fast goodies I have spent on the car, this excludes all the little things you have to do to ensure that your car is in good shape no matter what time of the day it is. Oh, and minus the respray too, which you would probably have a cow over, if I told you how much that cost me. I know all the Supra guys/gals are very suprised. So as you can see, it really doesn't cost too much to extract a lot of power out of a Supra, just a really good mechanic and a little bit of luck when sourcing parts and you're set to go....... And, yep, suspension next, good set of tyres and bring on wakefield, eastern creek or whatever other track will let me have a blast on.......
  13. Mate there are planty of powerful skylines out here, you just have to know who to talk to, or just pop into ESP and have a look around... :-p What happened to the upgrading of the turbos? Or did you listen to me and put a nice single snail in there?
  14. C'mon John, I was told that if you go off the track every now and again, you're not trying hard enough........ :-p I can see this turning into a real positive thing though. An annual event for both clubs, there's a posibility that this could turn into something huge. Maybe we can incorporate a run at the strip and dyno days. After all it's just a bit of fun and this is the reason why we don't drive Ford's or Holden's !! ;-)
  15. I totally agree with you !!! I had no traction when I went to wakefield earlier this year and I have very ordniary suspension so I have no doubt that a car with 1/3 of the power of my car that is properly set up will/should get a much faster time than me, but hey, that's why we modify our car's isn't it?? This actually sounds like a really good idea and if we do this right then I think it would be positive for both car clubs and of course bragging rights for one club........ Maybe we can have a chat about this at Marques and get something happening unless you want this event happening a little earlier? You can contact me ([email protected]) or someone from the club via actsupraclub.com Cheers Ross
  16. Hi all, This car is now sold and the new owner has put it on a truck and it should be in WA now. Cheers Ross
  17. Hi all, This car is now back up for sale with a greatly reduced price tag. The car is now going for $23,500 neg. Nothing has been removed (mods wise) from the initial post. The reason for the huge drop is that his new car is arriving very shortly. The electrical issue has been resolved and I have been told that the car is running much better. This is a dead set bargain. Call Tom on the number above for any questions you have. Cheers Ross
  18. Hi all, This car has been taken off the market due to some problems with the electrics. Tom is sending it back to the dealership in Sydney where he bought it from to have the problem rectified. Sorry for the inconvenience. Cheers Ross
  19. Yep, Tom did get married recently (the silly bugger). If I was you, I would make an offer to him and see what he says. Ross
  20. Sorry I should have clarified. I have posted this car for sale on behalf of Tom. There is no previous damage and Tom's selling as he is upgrading his car to a Lexus IS 250 Cheers Ross
