  1. hmmm - I like those mags in the first shot - they look tuff from that profile - front on - not so sure though! - nice photo's by the way! I must say though - I think the Dolphin kit (now that I know that is what I have) is a far more... impressive shall we say, looking end result. but each to their own It is fairly obvious though that both kits lend themselves to having a beefy intercooler installed... Might have to go get one...
  2. make that 4 now!
  3. Yeah little old Adelaide as well! Never heard of a Dolphin kit before... The kit - especially with the eye lids added is why I bought this car over others. Strange thing is - I never thought I would ever own a wagon - nor a white car - and now I have both in one!! (Well pearl - but close enough) I have now Got a couple of kids so I had to go something larger, past cars included a FTO, 300ZX TT and my current daily is a red GTS-T R33 coupe - hence the need to upgrade size wise to a wagon! hahaha cute - sorry to go off topic - but I want one!! Amazing what a google search will turn up... http://www.freeway-dolphin.co.jp/index.htm
  4. hmmm well I think I like mine better... Note The dayz badge - they must have updated the front??
  5. Darrin - you sure?? It was sold as a dayz kit - even has the badges....?? not really fussed what ever the kit is - it looks far nicer than standard... And yes it is mine - I just don't have it yet.... few more weeks to wait...
  6. Japanese official recall case number: RJ-0698-0 Date issued: 12/12/2000 Number of affected vehicles: 12712 Production period: 03/08/1998 - 24/03/2000 Faulty component: ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) Description: There is a risk that resistance of the terminals of the electric part inside the ABS control unit increases as the material of the terminals is inappropriate. In such a case, the ABS may be activated when not necessary, which in the worst case could result in reduced brake efficiency. How to fix the problem: The ABS control unit should be replaced with the factory approved replacement unit. How can you tell if the problem has already been checked and/or fixed on your vehicle? yellow paint on the left hand side of the vehicle type plate NISSAN STAGEA Type Frame/Chassis Production Period Affected Number GF-WGC34 WGC34-070101..WGC34-073191 N/A N/A GF-WHC34 WHC34-030101..WHC34-030661 N/A N/A Hmmm so does this sort of thing get checked and fixed at compliance???
  7. I disagree - if you do a lot of macro work - live view on a 3" LCD will always give you a better shot than just using the viewfinder! The only thing these new DSLR's need is the ability to digitally zoom the live view to 100% guarantee that the focus point is correctly chosen! Similar to my old Minolta Dimage 7i and the Panasonic Z30/Z50's pretend DSLR's did - a very nice feature to ensure the item of choice is in focus instead of some random point the camera has chosen to focus on!! I found this the most desirable feature to have so when I was going to upgrade from my Minolta I was going to buy the Panasonic Z30 then the Z50 for this very feature alone. But the poor ISO performance of these pretend DSLRs made me instead look towards the Canon 350D then 400D and now 40D - it is just the glass that scares me - so bloody expensive! In fact thinking back - when I was doing the macro work I always used manual focus anyway so the 40D's lack of Auto focus in liveview mode does not scare me to much!
  8. admittedly the silver one is a Series 1 though....
  9. hmmm - I am not sure if the dayz front bar is all that great... I am about to get my car (about a week or so off if all goes well) and it has the full dayz kit - but I have seen a silver one with a more - streamline aerodynamic looking kit mine: the silver one: I am also in SA so can't help to much as you guys are all in NSW.
  10. should do now... my host went down last night for about 3 hours!! damn low priced hosting with to many features... attracts more customers than they can handle... should be fine now though!!
  11. How many stageas did you get last year - I just picked up a 1998 RS Four V Series II pearl white with full dayz kit and 18" gold rims... I should be getting it back from compliance in about a 2 or 3 weeks so I might put it in if it arrives to daddy in one piece after trucking down from QLD... But then again Stageas are not exactly going to win many beauty contests - being the Volvo look a likes that they are! Pictures of my baby here - should I bother?? It is not like I will have spent thousands on it like some of the cars I have seen at other shows...
  12. I checked one of these out the other day - very heavy and much larger than the 400D - but the 3" LCD looks awesome!!! I was going to buy the 400D twin lens kit but now.... The other horrible thing as far as being indecisive is concerned is that the D3 and the D300 from Nickon are soon to be released and even though I would prefer a Canon these two cams look to be far better than the 40D! They support Autofocus with the liveview - the canon only does manual focus with liveview LCD.
  13. want a better selection - check out the Adelaide AutoSalon picks here - although I was only using a 350D with the kit 18-55mm lens and the built in flash.... plus I had only just bought it so my skilz leave a bit to be desired... - sorry not a pro yet! Click here to view album - to many to post here
  14. I agree - I think that is the only really smart option left - Just need to arrange it
  15. Updated my web page with 150 photos... so if you get bored... http://www.cyber-mag.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=4279 Had some trouble with the local compliance work shop though as they allocated their last plate so have inadvertantly stuffed me right royally - as to comply this car interstate is going to be a huge waste of money hopefully there is a way around this else I am going to have to either store in Japan for 4 months, Store at home for 4 months (if that is even allowed) and then comply in October or waste about $2000+ extra and get it complied in QLD - registered in SA and then pay to have a local mechanic refit all the goodies which I will have to pay to have shipped down seperate to the car as Kiwi trucking does not allow cargo in the car when transporting them!
  16. compliance place has their own but I was hoping to offer them these parts as spares for a reduced price or to sell them to recover some of the cost of buying the car. Although not sure how much a set of standard stagea rims with rubber would fetch nor an exhaust. The reason behind it I am told is that the truckers refuse to have cargo inside the car on the off chance that during trucking - say heavy breaking the cargo flies around in the car and causes damage. They don't want to be held responsible. The sad thing is a have heard of so many cars being offered with original parts inside and thought they where a better deal as you get more for your money... this is the first time I have evr been told that the parts are not allowed to be transported along with the car once it hits Oz!
  17. No idea it is still to get the full on inspection J-spec do with cars (extra $$ but worth it) - I should get more photos from that and then hopefully an update on delivery times. I am getting mine complied in SA as it has to many mods to get it done interstate. Problem I face is it has the stock wheels and exhaust in the car but I am told Kiwi carriers wont truck the car down from QLD with these in the boot so I will be loosing them And if I go with another shipping company I could probably keep them but I loose out on the free insurance. Shipping the parts from QLD separate to the car would cost to much to bother with as well... I hate choices - would rather not have known now!
  18. Hi guys - I bought the car! I hope it ends up being as good as it looks - I will post more pictures here when I get the car fully inspected! : http://www.cyber-mag.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=4279
  19. hahahaha - Muz - did you get the car or were all privileges suspended indefinitely... ?? nicely phrased BTW! which one was it - I managed to score one recently from J-spec as well.
  20. Ok I have a running list here: http://www.cyber-mag.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=3028 but to cut to the chase: Well for the proactive - the best bet is to continuously visit these pages: Local: http://www.ironchefimports.com/site/ http://www.prestigemotorsport.com.au/ http://www.j-spec.com.au/ http://www.imports101.com.au/index.php http://www.autowholesale.com.au/Showroom/C...61/Default.aspx http://www.nagoyamotors.com.au/pagev.asp?NewsID=6 http://www.japlinkmotors.com.au/search.php - although they are rude. http://www.crossover-car.com.au/mainpage.htm Japanese direct: http://www.mytrading.org/ http://www.rushcorp.com/cars/justinstock.asp http://www.motorworldjapan.com/ http://www.japanautodirect.com/ http://www.japanautodirect.com/dealer_stock/king_buyer.cfm http://www.globiz-motors.com/stock_list.php http://www.japaneseusedcars.com/auction/st...mited_time.html http://www.japan-partner.com/auction/Nissa...s-for-sale.html http://nissan.japan-car.jp/ http://www.bestjapancar.com/special.htm Listing of Jap exporters http://www.google.com/Top/Regional/Asia/Ja...tomotive/Sales/ Auctions / Gulliver https://dn.e-gauc.com/english/01/02/010201.asp (pass word V19311 or V15304 or V24533) https://bzl.cis6200.jp/e/index.asp ( T77043 or T26047) http://english.auto.vl.ru/ And to get a list of past Auction selling prices so you know what is a good price to spend - go here: http://auctions.amayama.com/search/
  21. Hello All - it has been a while - Lost my FTO which was my main car so this Skyline has been kept as my daily driver since then. It is now back up for sale as I have bought myself a 1998 Stagea RS FOUR V NEO instead as a family car! So any reasonable offer on this around the mid $13,000 will be considered. I am in no hurry to sell though as the stagea is not even on the boat from Japan yet - but if a decent offer is made then I will sell the car.
  22. Thanks guys - wow that is hell cheaper than I would have thought - but then again you do need to include shipping... And that is actually around $1700... i.e. divide it by 93.5 to bad there are not a large number of V35 drivers in OZ yet - as doing a bulk buy would probably make sense to save on freight. Although if one was also to hunt down 350Z and MX5 drivers... But that would also kill the unique'ness of having the kit... hmm - their logo / emblem is almost $300 ouch! Not sure I like the odyssey kit - the odyssey has a nice enough shape at the front stock..
  23. might have to get myself one - I have the rounded spoiler and they just don't look as sporty with it... Problem is I have a metallic red so colour matching would be hard... Reds fade so differently to other colours
  24. I have done a Net search and for the life of my can't find this kit anywhere but in blogs showing the same pictures as I found already. I think it makes the car look exotic If anyone is better at using google than me - can you help - i think the company is called DamD tuning... I expect this front bar to cost mega $$$ but would be interested to find out! http://www.nihoncarandbike.com/news-418-TA...ed+by+DAMD.html http://www.nihoncarandbike.com/index.php?p...418&index=1 http://www.leftlanenews.com/2006/10/18/cus...n-aston-grille/ http://www.autoblog.com/2006/10/18/damd-ag...ston-treatment/ http://carscoop.blogspot.com/2006/10/nissa...-g35-coupe.html http://www.exelife.com/blog/automotive/dam...martin-g35.html They also do the 350Z it appears: http://www.autoblog.nl/archive/2006/09/11/...z-black-x-metal http://www.automoblog.net/2006/10/06/nissa...-tuned-by-damd/
  25. Do you find craig from J-spec responds to emails? I have sent him around 10 emails over the last 6 months about various cars and have only ever had a response once - asking for $1,100 so he can start looking at Auctions for me... I have just found that Geoff from Prestige seems to have more time to talk things through before asking for $$$. I know they must get a lot of enquiries but... I like to talk a purchase through before handing over the cash.
