  1. I'm on 56k so I've been downloading this page for the last 3 days now But seriously I love seeing pics like this. Everything seems more exciting when it's in Japan Have a safe trip home, rezz!
  2. The kind of ute I like.. mmmm yummy thanks for the link!
  3. *BUMP* My r33 does this also. When you turn the key to the 'ON' position it makes a clicking/ticking noise like TK TK TK TK for a few secs then stops. My sisters bf tried telling me it was the fuel pump pumping fuel to the engine that was making the noise, but my mate and I decided it was something to do with the climate control (as it made the noise again if you turned the climate control off or changed settings etc). Is it supposed to be audible (it is easy to hear)?
  4. Thanks for the replies everyone. Greatly appreciated. 1) I noticed this button in my centre console today (see attachment), is this in all skylines? what does it do? 2) What does this knob on the drivers side of the dash (under steering wheel) control? I'm sad to say the mint body may not be mint for very long I've already noticed a few stone chips (I think they are stone chips) on the rear bar which weren't there before.. and as soon as I get an alarm I will be driving it to work where it is likely to get keyed, doors opened on etc etc.. Does anyone know of any links to pages that give heaps of info about R33's, like labelled diagrams of undercar/engine components and stuff like that so I can try to get to know my car better (I don't know much about cars)? Thanks again.
  5. Hey guys. I went up the coast on Friday morning with my dad to have a look at a non-turbo R33 I'd seen advertised on carpoint at Minnie St. Auto's in Southport (just off Ferry Road). We pulled up out the front and couldn't see it anywhere. I was starting to think it must've been sold but then a lady came out and I told her I was after the Skyline and she had a quick look out the back for it and then asked one of the guys who told her it was up in their storage shed 2 doors up (they had too many cars for the size of their car yard). After making sure I knew it was a non-turbo, and the lady getting over the shock that I was a young person who didn't want a turbo car and her congratulating me on being sensible etc (lol), we walked up there and went inside to see the (dusty) car lol. I got in the drivers seat and noticed it had 4WD on the instrument panel and immediately realised it was a GTS-4 (from the ad I thought it was just a rwd GTS25). I then had a look at the exterior and then sussed the engine. At this point the car was looking pretty appealing (i.e. it didn't look dodgy or anything). The guy explained to me that he was selling it for his mate, who was an older guy who had owned it for the last 3 years or so (I think he must've been the only Australian owner, since it was imported in 2002) and then he asked me if I wanted to take it for a test drive. Naturally, I took the keys and off we went. I was very impressed with the car and loved the smooth engine and good handling. We got back to the car yard and then we had a more detailed look over the car. My dad and I couldn't find anything wrong with the car and we were both very impressed with the overall condition of the car, especially considering the car had been for sale for the last 3 months (exactly 3 months in fact, the RWC ran out that day) and hadn't been detailed much in that time (if at all). But, neither me nor my father are mechanics so I wasn't buying sh1t till I'd had a mechanic check it out. So we took it around the corner to a place called Autogex on Nerang Rd. It took a little over an hour from the time we got there to the time we got the report, but I thought it was alright because we didn't have it booked in or anything, we just rocked up and said "check this out foo'", but less Mr-T like. And yada yada yada, from the tests they did they said they couldn't find anything wrong with the car, compression test was all very even and everything worked properly etc. So we drove back to the car yard, again. And then me and dad headed to the nearest Commonwealth bank to get some muchos out. Went back, signed some papers, handed over the money (the guy didn't count the 10g stack, just the other $2800, he was like 'i trust you', haha I aint trust no-one for ten thousand dollars lol!). Then the lady at the car yard (who was also an insurance broker) got me on the line to Just Cars (when I was at Commonwealth they were gonna give me a quote on car insurance, apparently they do that now, but I told her it was an import and she said they dont cover imports.. surprise, surprise..) so yeh spoke to this chick from Just Cars (she sounded hot) and she asked me a heap of questions (unfortunately all were car-related ) and she told me a figure around $2400, knowing I was most likely going to be raped just as severely by any other company for comprehensive, I agreed and got them to start the cover that day so I was straight to drive it home. So it cost me $12,000 for the car plus $500 for the dealer (comission for selling his mate's car) and another $300 for Stamp Duty, REVS check and a few other little things. So $12,800 I had the keys (well one, thats all the guy had.. or so he says) and was driving away. The tank was near on empty though (the guy was really tight cause he wasn't making much money out of the sale) so I had to go straight to the nearest servo to fill it up. It was an awesome drive home and it was a great feeling to have finally purchased my own car after saving up for over a year. It's pretty stock at the moment but the interior looks immaculate, the paint work is excellent apart from a few small scratches here and there and the odometer was showing 87,359 kms when I bought it, which could possibly be genuine judging by the condition of the car. I'm definitely pleased with my purchase. I plan to do some more mods to it, but I must say even as it is I'm still very happy with it. Anyway, here's my cardomain site (I couldn't upload pics to my gallery on here, it wouldn't log me in), with some pics I took today after I washed it. http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2099090 A few questions.. 1) It's an M-spec kit isn't it? Is there any chance it may have been factory fitted somehow? 2) On the rims it says "RACING SPARCO"? Does anyone know what they are called or how much they would be worth? 3) The tyres are 225/50/R16 92V, I saw in the Owners Manual this exact size was there, what model is that for? 4) The suspension seems to be a bit lower than stock and quite hard. They'd be aftermarket springs on stock struts? IF so does anyone know what brand they might be? (they're yellow and you can see them in one of the pics) 5) The 4WD system only directs power to the front wheels if the rear wheels lose traction, yeh? 6) I read in the book the 'slip' light (next to the 4WD one on the dash) comes on when the car detects the surface you are driving over is slippery and the 4wd light only comes on when driving if there is a problem, is this correct? 7) It just has the stock tape player/radio but the radio only seems to go up to 90.0FM, is that the highest frequency they use in japan? 8) The gear knob isn't stock is it? (it doesn't have a H-pattern or anything) 9) I can't see any HICAS lights on my dash, does this mean my car doesn't have it? 10) What are the bulges under the carpet between the rear passenger footwells and to either side of the centre console (in front of the driver and passenger side seats)? 11) Did all R33s come with automatic climate control? 12) I need at least a 2-point immobilser installed for insurance? How do I tell if there is already one installed? What alarm/immobilser system would you guys recommend purchasing? How much do they cost to get installed? Um.. thats all I can think of now but please let me know as much as possible especially about this model in particular. If you have any suggestions on what I should do to make the car look better etc, including what colour NSW number plates would look best (have to renew rego in a month, which is a shame, because I like the maroon QLD plates that are on it now, they match the paint B)) P.S. For those who bothered to read all that.. NO, you may not have your 10 minutes back <_<
  6. I'm not sure what happened to my actual post but I'm actually after a manual coupe. Thanks for the reply though champ. P.S. I would've considered it for that price but I don't fit in 4-doors.
  7. 2 quick chops.. front and back
  8. Thanks guys. I got it working with that dosbox program. Cheers.
  9. Hey guys. I downloaded the old Street Rod 2 game (DOS) and it displays the intro screen fine until you get into the actual game. I can't show you what it looks like because when I hit 'print screen' and paste the screenshot into paint, it displays correctly  The game seems to be displaying a vertical column of graphics twice. So u get a column (a character wide), and then to the right of it the same exact column again (only darker) and then it displays the second column to the right of that, and then column 2 again. So instead of seeing for example <+_+>.. you will see <<++__++>> I guess the best way I can describe it is that it's kinda like double vision. Can anyone help? Thanks. EDIT: It works fine if I run the game in 4 colour mode, but not 16 colours :chairshot
  10. I could be just missing something here but where you have "3 earthquake 10" subs $250 or $80 each" is that right? (the whole more expensive to buy all 3 of them than buy them separately thing) Just curious..
  11. Just threw some cheap chromies on her and dropped the ride height down a bit..
  12. It's a Vh45de (V8) out of a Nissan Infinity Q45.. "If I ruled the world and everything in it, sky's the limit, I push a Q45 Infinit'" -Nas
  13. Not sure what ppl with think of teh R33 rear wing and 400R front bar on an R32 but you can't argue with R34 GTR rims :ddd:
  14. Try this http://www.mr2ownersclub.com/converter.htm
  15. Hey, I'm looking at purchasing a non-turbo Skyline and was -up until a few minutes ago- set on an N/A R33 but I just found an R32 GTS25 (pretty rare I believe) for sale on the net and thought I'd have a look at some numbers and compare the 2 cars. R33 GTS25 Type S RB25DE 200 ps (147.10 kw) / 6400 rpm 23.5 kg*m (230.46 N*m) / 4800 rpm Curb vehicle weight: 1320kg R32 GTS25 Types RB25DE 180 ps (132.39 kw) / 6000 rpm 23.0 kg*m (225.55 N*m) / 5200 rpm Curb vehicle weight: 1320kg I was surprised to see that both cars (in Type S form at least) weigh the same (1320kg). If that's true why does everyone make R33's out to be so much heavier?? Also what is the reason for the power/torque differences between the RB25DE in the R32 and in the R33? All these figures were taken from http://english.auto.vl.ru/catalog/nissan/skyline/ R32 - http://english.auto.vl.ru/catalog/21746/ R33 - http://english.auto.vl.ru/catalog/21713/ I like the look of both cars, slightly preferring the R32 maybe, but the R33 has a bit more legroom for me (I'm tall). Thanks.
  16. Nah, sorry Greg. It's a bit far away. Thanks anyway champ. Anyone else want to sell theirs?
  17. Nah, sorry Greg. Unfortunately I'm looking for something a bit closer to me than that. Thanks anyway champ.
  18. Around $16k or less.
  19. I'm after a non-turbo R32 or R33. Must be manual. I'm located in Northern NSW.
  20. ICO (not an abbreviation, just called 'ICO') This is an awesome and beautiful game to play. Unfortunately it's pretty short (I didn't want it to end ). I hired it out (it was a weekly) and finished it, so hiring it might be the way to go. Epic experience! A must try! "Solve the puzzles or join the tormented souls forever. He was born with horns. For this, they feared him. At first, he was ostracized. Then he was entombed. Then he was forgotten. Only, one day, he escaped his burial crypt. In the outside world, he found himself within a castle, and within that castle he found a peculiar girl. Her name is Yorda. His name is Ico. And the castle had no name, nor did it have an exit or an explanation of its existence...only dangers and menacing spirits. So begins ICO, the captivating adventure game for the PlayStation 2. In this haunting world, drawn with astounding visual detail and breathtaking style unlike any game you’ve seen before, Ico must lead the way through the catacombs and windswept ramparts of this strange castle. He'll leap over precipices and battle back shadow wraiths and ethereal creatures with a swing of his walking staff, but his real weapon against the unreal forces in his way is the beautiful and curious Yorda, whose unexplained powers are always the surprise and wonder. But with so many mysteries in their quest, the one daunting question always remains: is there ever a way out of this strange place? Find out for yourself in the adventure of ICO. Key Features: -Deep, mysterious storyline that will captivate you for hours -Variety of puzzles ranging from simple mazes to complex brain twisters -Inviting and vibrant worlds, each with its own architectural style -More than 35 complex and visually stunning levels -Brilliant interactive backgrounds with spectacular lighting effects" Road Rage 3- Released as "Touge 3" in Japan I beleive (much better name), it's a low budget drifting game. Good value at $30 (I got mine from K-Mart). I liked DRIV3R, although not everyone feels the same way as me.. I mean, it could've been alot better but i still found it very enjoyable! ATV Offroad Fury 2 - Quad bike goodness! Prince Of Persia: Sands of Time - Good fun! Hitman series Splinter Cell series I just hire a lot of games out and generally buy them when they're at good prices. I don't like paying close to $100 per game. I've picked up some real bargains at times, especially through "2 for $x" deals. They're gooooood!
  21. I hired it out on PS2 the other night. Pretty good game. Customisation seems to be pretty cool, actual brand name parts such as Bomex bodykits and HKS performance gear. Cars are now licensed, with some awesome cars/bikes available. Sound track is excellent IMO, I counted over 100 songs in the credits, most of which I liked.
  22. "white, 2door, manual, 120 000 kms" Just to make sure you know, it's a GTS (non-turbo), NOT a GTSt.
  23. Hey mate, sorry I'm a bit late.. hehe had a look at this car, looking to buy it for myself a few months ago. Had a quick look at it myself (unfortunately I don't know much about cars) but it was engineered for the engine conversion, brake upgrade (Nissan and Subaru calipers from memory, about 260mm-280mm rotors, smaller rotors at the front though so must've had the better calipers there?) and suspension (yellow Koni springs). Had all the info documented, but that's about all I can remember. Oh, interior seemed alright except the factory Tacho wasn't wired for the new engine. Overall the car looked in pretty good condition to me, but then again I didn't take a look under the bonnet or anything, so who knows.. Not sure if they still have it, probably been sold.. but if I see it for sale I'll let you know!
