Performance Build up - bottom end. what should i do.
Ballistic replied to Ballistic's topic in General Automotive Discussion
What bearings do people recommend? Was thinking of just the ACL bearing kit...? Oil pump eh? might check it out. Would like to know some details relating to cooling properties with the speed of the coolant/water aswell. I have heard of pumping it too fast, doesn't get enuff time to cool etc. Dunno.Time for some research me thinks. -
ok. Have a block and some forgies to whack in it. want some advice on getting the block prepped for some descent power (and boost) Acid Dipped Block (clean all oil galleries and cooling jackets) Bore/Hone Deck head and block. Double O Ring (Block and Head) Copper Head Gasket Crank ground - nitrided - and reground Rods Shot peened and knife edged. All reciprocating mass assembly (crank, rods, Pistons/rings, Flywheel (lightened billet)) Balanced and Blueprinted New Gaskets all round. What else is there to do? Planning to run big boost levels and a fairly big rev limit. let us know. I have the block, pistons and bottom end ready. ust finding out info on some of the toughening procedures that can be carried out. thanks boys. Mitch. Also explain what it does etc.

piping, hoses and clamps woulc very depending on what material used. for mild steel budget maybe $200 for alloy maybe $350. It all depends on your pipe route too. and also the silicon hoses you use. You can go for high grade clamps with high grade silicon hoses and it costs you, but just the generic stuff works well enuff. Also depends on your friends so yeh maybe take what i say as a general guide.. aot of the time you can utilise some of your stock stuff in way of hoses and clamps, even the piping up to the throttle body can be retained.

Just want to know where to get flanges cut. I want a header Flange between Exhaust manifold and the Head, and a Flange For Manifold to Turbo cut out of 3/8" Mild Steel. Also Flange from the turbo to cooler pipes in whatever is suitable??? im guessing some sort off ALLOY? Also from the Turbo to the Inlet tract ie. between turbo inlet and afm/filter. Im sure these arnt hard.. maybe someone has had experiences in the past with places that are cheap? Im going to ring round exhaust shops soon. Thanks.

japan sheepdog professional bov.
Ballistic replied to dabigbolf's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
i also have the same valve from Prof. The Prof Sheepdog. However mine might be a slightly older version, and has been sitting in my garage for over a year. I remember it being fine on stock boost, but when i boosted it up to 12psi it became a bit lazy. mine doesn't have the Trumpet also. I would part with it for 4 $100. Only needs a freshen up. -
AVC-R for sale
Ballistic replied to NissTrust's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
i am aware that these can be found new at some places for $900. I'll give you $600. If your wondering why i said the above. It is my reasoning as to why i am offering $600. When they forst came out they where $1100 - $1200.. now much cheaper. -
WHEN YOU GET TO THE SITE IT WILL COME UP WITH PAGE NOT THERE. CLICK INTO THE ADDRESS BAR (where http:// is written) SO THAT YOU CURSOR IS THERE AND PRESS ENTER. PIC SHOULD WORK THEN.. IT IS A GEOCITIES F**K UP. Sorry mate. Price is firm. i have all the piping here to pipe it up to the pulsar as bought it all (cost an arm and a leg as its alloy mnrel bends). So i only need to get my mate to weld it up.. but i would really like to avoid such a long cooler tract. But if it means i have to i will.. not prepared to loose money.

chasing $700. This cooler is a good cooler at a good price. core measures 600x300x76 and it has been professionally made. End tanks are arranged as to suit the pipe arrangment with the most efficient piping route requiring only 1 hole be cut which is easy. In and Out are on OPPOSITE sides and are 2 1/2 inch (suit skyline) It uses a K&J Performance core which has PROVEN results. My friend had it made up for him before he ran onto other financial difficulties. So i bought it of him for $700 to go on my ET Turbo project. I now realize how hard it is to pipe this thing up to an ET (Long piping with lots of bends) So therefor i want my money back. Come on people. this is a very good cooler at a very good price. IT DOES NOT INCLUDE PIPING. This size is perfect for RB20DET Or RB25DET, and is the size most people opt for when going for good street power on a 2-2.5 ltr motor. K&J cores are used by all the big intercooler fabricaters... and there are alot of people out there who love and swear by them (including myself). The same cooler form one of the big workshops would cost you well above this price! The cooler is in BRISBANE and i can be contact any time on 0410 133 391. A pic can be found at http://www.geocities.com/nismo_et_turbo/Img_0029.jpg however this does not show the thickness of the cooler. (it is a nice thick cooler) Intercooler is debatably one of the first serious upgrades you will do to your motor if your chasing DESCENT power.

YES i will send to melbourne, if you pay postage. shouldn' be much. I would prefer to sell without piping cause it just meens more hassles of sorting out the piping etc. However if you are in bris, and you buy the cooler i can sort the piping out for you which involves cutting 1 hole. Price depends on the material you want.. stainless or alloy. Or Ceramic coated mild steel. you can see the intercooler on www.geocities.com/nismo_et_turbo/ on the second last page. The cooler was made up to suit a 32/33 GTST and then sold to me. I was going to put her on the pulsar but the in/out meens that the pipe route would be very long for my car. Raza Email me on [email protected] and we will talk more.

depending on what you want to plumb your cooler up with i say do it yourself. I have done mine and several other people's coolers now with awesome results. Have done 1 R32 GTST 1 R33 GTST 1 GTX Familia 1 ET Turbo .... Usually works out cheaper. So i say do it yourself. Work out the bends you need.. and go out and buy them. In my case i go out and buy the alloy bends (at least 3mm wall thickness) after i worked out what i need. Take them home, cut them to size and Prep the pipes for welding by tapering the ends, so when placed next to each other it creates a nice V to weld in. From there i get a marker and make markings and label the pipes H1, H2, H3 (H for Hot pipe.. before the cooler and C1, C2, C3 for Cold Pipe). Then ring up a mobile Welding service that can do alloy and get them to come out and do it all for you. When (if) you cut holes to allow for the pipes (not the chasis or rales etc. obviously) you can use a proper hole saw if you got on or buy one.. or drill holes and join them up with tin snips, then die grind any dags off. Then to tart up the hole and make it look factors get a length of rubber vaccum hose and cut a straight slit down the length of it. Put glue in the slit and press itonto the hole so it acts like rubber edging. Trail it round the diameter of the hole and cut it off when you reach where you started. Alloy polishes up Really well, is very light weight and looks extremely neat. There is also issue's with mounting brackets for the cooler too but they are easy, just make sure you have the cooler mounted TOP and Bottom to make it stable. BUT then again.. i do everything DIY because i like the feeling of finishing something and knowing i did it myself.. and you learn alot. I can help you through the process if you wish. and i didn't even do metal work at school. You dont have to be good under the bonnet to do it. Usually save a few hundred too
