The last time i changes my oil i used the Redline 10W40. i think that was about $125 from memory. This is the stuff i've always been told is "the sh!t" apparently its used throughout racing with great performance. How would the redline compare to motul???

Morning all, I had my wheels off recently to paint the calippers on my car. I bought the proper calipper spray but when i sprayed it on it beaded and wouldnt stick. Do i need to prime the caliper or something???? Cheers!adam

I checked the fluids a few months ago when it first started happening. I actually had the speedo re-calibrated about 8-10months ago when it was reading ridiculously random speeds. i have noticed that it is bouncing slightly though. The Hicas light usually comes on after the power steering has stopped. they run off the same pump, but they stop at different times??? or would there just be a delay for the hicas stuffing up?

I already have the zorst, FMIC, pod. i have the Power FC ready to fit when i buy the boost controller. I was told that the Power FC boost controller wouldnt work as i have the AP engineering version for R32's. I am mainly concerned with the functionality but as with most things i want something that looks good aswell. Thats why i was choosing between the AVC-r and Blitz i-color. I'm sure the profec is a good unit, but i prefer the look of these other 2 units. Im just wanting to know if there are any potential problems to consider that you guys may have come across with either of these boost controllers. Cheers.

Yeah speedo is still working. i'll check it out over the wknd. thanks. Has this happened to anyone else? i havent really heard of it being a common problem.

Morning all, I'm looking to fit a few things to my car over the next few weeks. I've priced the Apexi AVC-r at about $500 and the blitz SBC i-color at about $800. I've heard that the only real drama from the apexi is boost spike if you hook it up with too much line to the solenoid??? has anyone had any other dramas. and has anyone used the blitz. I guess the main question is this :- Is it worth paying the extra $300. They both look fine so all i care about is reliability and functionality. Cheers! Adam.

Morning All I'm thinking the pump may be gone/going in my r32. The power steering works fine for the first few minutes of driving then it all of a sudden switches off and its like steering my old datsun. Any ideas??? should i just change the pump?

I got the AP Engineering FC with H/C for just under $1400 delivered. And with tuning its often the case of you get what you pay for. but as paulr33 said, $400 is resonable. i found most recognised places were charging around $500+ when i was pricing it.

Trust make a kit to fit straight up to a 32 with minimal cutting. its the V-spl that i put on mine. unlike with the hybrib and some other brands there is no fan cutting needed. easy to fit, but your looking at a few extra $$$'s.

Morning All, I need to top up my P/S fluid but i cant find were to do it. I cant find my skyline manual either. I thought it was the black cylinder next to my pod, but there isnt anything written on it so i'm not sure.

It is an R32, GTS4 if it makes any difference. i thought that there would be a difference in power steer fluid n auto trans fluid. they are 2 diff products. what do i buy for it??

I was just staying under the 180 mark as thats what it read when i was driving to sydney and i was sitting with the rest of the traffic. Ive had it fixed now and the guy said they found it was fluctuating up to 70km's out. sometimes it was fine, then it would be slighlty out, then it was reading ridiculous figures. I'm not going to contest it even though i have a report from the calibrator specifying all this as i cant see them letting me off. legal advice ive gotten indicates a very small chance of success. Its only 6 months as well, not 12 as i previously thought. I'm happy to support our state rail system for a few months.

Morning All, Today driving to work my steering was starting to go stiff every so often then loosen back up. I checked the HICAS fluids (in the boot, drivers side) and the fluid is just below the minimum level. 2 questions... 1. What fluid goes in the bottle??? 2. Hicas, i thought, only kicked in at about 70km+ and i thought it only turned the wheels by 1degree. Or is that the ATESSA?? if i am right then why would the whole steering stiffen up? help!

Well thanks to the people who had something constructive to say. As for the rest, i dont give a sh1t and have a good life. I was simply looking to see if somebody had been in the same situation and maybe offer some sort of advice. There's no need to pay me out. I know i was doing the wrong thing as i stated, and its affected alot of sh1t. I was going off what the speedo was indicating when i drove down to sydney sitting with traffic. I'm not a hoon, I was merging and there were no cars around me so i sped up to what i thought was roughly the speed limit, Ive never gone off the tacho. I now know that it was stupid to "guess" so to speak. but it was an enducated guess gauging off what i was doing when sitting with traffic. The car had also been booked in for about 4 days before to get the speedo checked and recalibrated or whatever needed to be done but they couldnt get me in for over a week. I have no other way of getting to the places i needed to go (even public transport ). And thats why i was driving the car. There was no choice. Its as simple as that. No need to for useless comments that have no constructive feedback.

There were no surrounding cars. i was merging in from a bend. and it was a 110 zone, hence the "freeway". Might have to take my chances with court. Prob will be hard pressed convincing the judge tho.

Morning All, I drove to sydney the other day and my speedo was screwing up big time reading about 170-180 when sitting with traffic. coming onto the freeway yesterday i was speeding up to merge watchin the speedo to stay under the 180km mark. Just down the road the cops pin me for 141km and dont want to hear a word about faulty speedo . The car had been booked in to get fixed but they have a bit of work on so its not til next week. Is there anyway i can get out of the points as this will see me catchin the damn train to work for the next year!

i checked out www.redlineoil.com.au/reseller-locations.asp and it has each dealer in each state. the "coventry auto parts" dealerships currently have it on special. i was quoted $125 for 5 litres of 10W40. similar price for the shockproof stuff, roughly $25 p/litre it works out to be.

ok cheers. i'm fairly sure the GTS-4's have the same gearbox as the GTR's so i'll buy extra. it can always be reused.

Benm, u have a GTR but i have the GTS-4. I think we have the same gearbox from memory. not positive. if not then would that be why the guy told me i only needed 2 1/2 litres for the box. Is this what a normal R32 GTS-t box would take???

is it constantly about 20km's out?? mine was way out then was only a bit out then was back to normal. its the first time its ever done it. a mate said yesterday that he had a similar problem and he ended up shoving the cluster around and it went back to normal. almost as if something had come a bit loose. I wonder if this is a common problem for skylines. i havent really heard of many other people coming across this.

Ive looked into that boost controller and as i have the R32 i had to get the AP Engineering version and there is no boost controller kit for the AP version. So i have to go a stand alone aftermarket one. i was only thinking the SBC i-colour over an AVC-r as ive heard so many ppl talking about spiking with the AVC-r.
