Morning all, I am currently up to the stage of modding were i need/want more boost. i have a turbo back zorst, pod, Greddy FMIC and BOV. Ive checked out the Power FC's and they look like a tidy unit capable of almost anything. Would i be better just buying an APEXi boost controller for $600 rather than the Power FC for $1000?? would it be worth the extra $$'s for the added features that it offers? Im not wanting to turn this into a full blown drag car, but i will probly mod further into next year.

what is the difference between "mechanical" and " "electrical". im buying for xmas and i dont know which to buy and why! can someone shed some light on this?
-
Yeah virtually anything that isnt stock you can be booked for unless it is fully engineered. For instance if u change your gear knob over and it doesnt have the "H" displaying the gears, then thats a defect. Having bigger wheels than the stockies without having them engineered is also illegal. so u can see how this applies to almost anything. it sucks but thats why we all love the RTA so much

I will have 1 passenger. might stretch to 2 but dont count the second as she is one of those wierd people who refuses to eat tasty, succulent, mouth watering, high in protein, life saving meat! yes thats right. i said life saving.

Yeah that time should be cool. I dont think it would cause too much trouble. You just gotta hope that eveyone thats going checks this thread out again before the date.

I just checked out the list and it looks like out of everyone theres only 3 R32's! thats not cricket. And the 2 besides mine are GTR's. Last time there were a heap of 32's. also how many ppl have UHF radios?

I have a GTS-4 and i also had this prob but it was a fairly violent shake. This was because i needed two new rears and a mate fitted ones that were slightly smaller than the old ones. as soon as i hit about 3G+ the car would shake, because it thinks that the rears are spinning at different speed to front. i just drove around in RWD for a few weeks then threw the same tyres on the front and problem solved. P.S. i have fitted a switch running from the 4WD/ABS fuse so that i can drive in RWD or 4WD wheather i need a quick launch or a little slide. I suggest gettin a switch hooked up. and its a piece of piss.

Morning all. Im buying a Trust V-spl intercooler kit for my R32. Im going through Pro-Speed Racing. Has anyone dealt with these guys before. There website is quite simple and a little difficult to arrange payment. I've gotten a price of $1229 delivered this seems to be the best i could find. *Is this company reputable ?? *And is this price a good deal in your opinion ??

What petrol are you using? it could be as simple as that. These engines need to good juice, dont be buying the local sh!t on the corner. u need a 98RON fuel e.g. BP ultimate. i had the same problem when i first bought my car and wasnt using the top stuff, and it only ever pinged when i gave it some revs.
-
id checked out those ones but the end tanks have barely any angle and i thought that it would constrict flow afair bit more. ive currently found a trust V-spl kit for $1199 + $30 freight. it looks to be good gear. i wasnt plannin on moddin over 250KW's. is this the only real reason that these expensive brands should be bought. Do people notice considerable difference between to the brands? i hope i havent just thrown money down the drain for an extra 4horses or something stoopid like that.

I just fitted a performance exhaust system last week and im feelin rich so im buyin an intercooler kit this week! Ive been checking out as much as i can and Blitz seems to be the go. for the LM the best price is $1299. The trust was another $100 or so. What is a good price for these, and do the retailers ever have xmas specials or anything????This might prompt me to wait if its a significant difference

i only just got my licence back 2 days ago so im overly keen for a cruise. I gave myself a "welcome back to the roads" present of a full 3" turbo back exhaust system, and then on my one week anniversary im fitting up a blitz intercooler system. so she'll be ready for the cruise with some nice mods. ahhh.....i give the best presents!
-
Im definatelly in! The last cruise i went on was sweet, but there was no bbq. food = i didnt have the radio last time. i'l be gettin one for this time though. we need it for ppl like Dave, he has a special talent that allows him to somehow stray miles away from huge conga-lines.hehe. P.S. first name Adam, R32 GTS-4, dark blue.

I was quoted bullsh1t prices all over the place. for a 3"stainless, turbo back, Hi-Flow cat, resonator and cannon the prices ranged from $1390-$1890 from memory. I ended up finiding a guy through a mate that had been doin exhausts all his life and is only charging me $1150. i was damn happy. pick it up tmoz morn! its done now, but i have to wait for tmoz to get my licence back in the morn after a very long 6 mnth wait. Also my exhaust guy said that he didnt know of many companys that make the 3 1/4 in aust. it would most likely have to be shipped in.
-
Thats what i'll be getting. 3" straight through from turbo back. No boost controller til xmas i dont understand how its given you 1 bar of boost? does it increase boost just from giving it much better flow?
-
Yeah makes sense. Having second thoughts about the 3" might go for 4" but i dont want it to be stupidly loud. Cheers for the replys. B)
-
sorry i may have worded it wrong at the start. i am gettin an exhaust fitted friday AND also getting a FMIC. and the rest explains itself. but my exhaust guy is saying he'll charge about $800-$850 fully fitted for the lot. is this roughly a common price for those guys that said they have these systems fitted?
-
Im gettin a new exhaust fitted on friday and i was going to buy a HYBRID setup to bolt straight on(so to speak). But...the exhaust guy said that he can get one almost identical to hybrid for a few hundred less. i think its Japanese from what he said. Has anyone used an imitation something like this? should i stick with the hybrid?
-
well i have a mate with a 4" system on his 33,loud as hell! but he runs E-boost at about 11psi and has a cooler and a few other little mods. i always thought that he'd be losing compression and power with it that big? would that be the case.
-
Im buying a new exhaust this week. Now im unsure of wheather to go for a 3" turbo back or 3 1/4" turbo back. most people seem to have the 3". Is there going to be much difference. The only other thing i have done to the car is the air filter. i have an intercooler on the way, and im running stock boost til xmas, then up to 12psi. not looking to do much more for a while after that besides more interior. Is there going to be enough performance difference between the two to worry?
-
Cheers for that. I did take 1st-4th to roughly 5/6G's. the car has always been a realy smooth ride and that hasnt changed. have noticed a increase in fuel economy aswell. roughly an extra 100km to a tank. pretty pleased with that.
-
Ok! people always talk about reseting the ECU when changing anything on the car so that the car can re-learn to maximise performance/gain better fuel economy etc. the quote i hear over and over again is after all residual energy is drained from the car and you reconnect the battery you need to "thrash it!" i was wondering what most people consider "thrashing it". and if you have already done this then what revs were you thrashing it out to and for how long? I recently changed my o2 sensor and drove it for a good 20mins reving each gear out to 5-6G's.didnt use 5th, was cruising through the local suburbs. Is this the way to do it. I figure that this will be telling the ECU that this is the driving style of the car and change the fuel/air ratio accordingly to a richish mix. Therefore im not expecting big savings on my fuel bill. What has everyone else done?

it is easy to fit a switch, ive done it to mine. and ive been playin with it for the last year and it hasnt done anything bad....i can stil launch fine in 4WD and then hit the switch for a little drift.
