I just called Petroject and the guy said that the only O2 sensor he can find is a 21mm hex head bolt one. its for an EL falcon. i thought that these were universal to RB20's but it doesnt look that way. odd as ive talked to ppl that said they have used these!? Does anyone know were the hell i can get one that will fit. or just someone that has swaped it over and might know something that im missing????

Cheers duncan. saved me alot of stuffing around.

Morning All! Im currently tryin to purchase a new O2 sensor for my R32. going through Petroject as i found them mentioned on one of these forums as having one that is a straight fit. when i called them the guy said he needs the size of the hexagon bolt or something as there are different ones. As i wont be able to get to my car til next week i was wondering does anyone know the size already so i can order it straight away. he said it would be something like 17mm/22mm CHEERS!

NEWCASTLE CRUZ 2 the 2ND SKYLINE SHOW N SHINE 17th JULY
GTS4dood replied to R32GRUNTN's topic in New South Wales
you may be in with a good chance dave. when i got done i was 0.176! and i only lost my licence for the time between court cases.and didnt get any fine at all.lost it for bout 4n half months. it took that long as i had to go to the driving offenders course and thats a 9 week course. but i think you'll atleast have to go to schooner school, (driving course) best of luck anyway. P.S. my solicitor set me back a good 1k. -
Blow Off Valve - Connecting the Vacuum Hose
GTS4dood replied to Ebola-33t's topic in General Maintenance
i only just hooked my BOV up and it was through the basic knowledge that i had...and believe me its basic. i seem to have a whole lot more hoses than everyone else. but its stil workin fine. i think it feels like it doesnt hit full boost til 4Gs instead of 3Gs as it always did when it wasnt hooked up tho. i took a few pics here they are. most ppl have their BOV's closer to the throttle body than i do. has anyone else hooked it up similar to this?? or am i a d1ckhead. :bonk: P.S. im not too good with a digi camera and shrinking the pics to fit so sorry if they are crap. -
ive got an R32 gts4 and it has the blue badges. As most people know, the R32's are turboed.does that make mine a family day trip car still?? i dont really know of any other R32gts4's around here so i dont know what badges are on them. i believe that the R33 gts4's arent turboed as it would be getting too similar to the 33GTR's... it would be 2.5L Vs 2.6L.....were as the R32's are 2.0L Vs 2.6L, fairly big jump. if that badge thing is true, then do you know what kinda performance stuff im missing out on??

sorry, havent been able to check out the post for a good week+. My net has been down, damn kooee! and only just got it back up. i'l make a how to guide in next day or 2. im gonna be pretty tied up but i'l make it as soon as i can. and i'l make the pics alot clearer, espec' for sarumatix, hehe.

this is simply to show the ppl that have R32 GTS4's or GTR's how a switch is hooked up to change between 4wd to Rwd. it is a very easy process once your shown and you can do it yourself very easily. simply hook up the respective wires(yellow and blue) between the switch and the fuse box under the dash on drivers side as shown in pictures. hope this helps some ppl out there. this is a very handy feature of the R32 as R33's cannot do it. good for warming up tyres before a launch!

RB20, how good are they?
GTS4dood replied to GreekWarrior's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
its a good idea to get something that you can actually LEARN to drive in. and by that i mean without your mum or dad sitting there telling you how to drive because seriously, almost everyone drives very differently after getting off L's. even if you bought a turbo'd skyline but kept the wastegate open for 6 months or something so that it wont boost. its actually a very smart way to do it IMO. and can save alot of $$$$$ in the end. think about it dood. -
were the cheapest place you guys have bought the redline gear?? looking to get some soon.
-
put smaller wheels on it....hehe

02 sensor will set ya back bout 90 bucks. easy to fit yourself aswell. EA falcon ones fit too, just have to cut off the adaptor and wire by hand. do a search as there was one place that was delivering ones that plug straight in for $88. a very smart buy fuel consumption wise. good idea to do it every 40,000kms as Nissan suggests.

brass button clutch?
GTS4dood replied to GTS4dood's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
cheers for the responses guys. stil looking round.we'll leave that one alone. if anyone finds a nice deal on a skyline R32/R33, if u could PM me it would be greatly appreciated. looking under 20G's cheers. -
Hey just wondering about fuel
GTS4dood replied to skylinesome's topic in General Automotive Discussion
depends on the individual car. theres plenty of threads about fuel consumption on here man. do a search and you'll find in better info. but some get 250km's to a 60ltr tank and others get 500km's. just depends on the condition of the car and things like 02sensor, ecu blah blah blah. i get bout 400-450kms. and i dont always drive her easy. -
when i bought my skyline it was pinging also. but that was because i was feeding it crappy petrol for the first 2 weeks. as soon as i ran a tank of BP ultimatre through her, she drove as smooth as anything. hopefully the previous owner wasnt putting in the cheap n nasty fuel. that can be very bad for the engine. good luck with it all man.

brass button clutch?
GTS4dood replied to GTS4dood's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
he isnt all that knowlegable bout skylines i think but is mechanically good with cars. yeah i never take the km's on these cars serious. i couldnt believe it when i saw one R32 with 23,000kms in a car yard. i laughed pretty hard. also with the diff lock, would that just cause bad tyre life? in the test drive it handled pretty well. and how much is a new diff anyway? -
I went looking at skylines in sydney on the weekend with a mate as he is buyin one soon. found a nice white pearl 95 R33 with some mods. its fresh into the country and the engine bay is pretty filthy.has a full 4" exhaust and an after market computer that controls boost, turbo timer, air/fuel and all the rest from a controller in the dash. its diff' locked aswell and having a brass button clutch, and has 63,000 on the speedo. He is selling for $20,000. from these mods it sounds like it was a drift car to me. the guy selling it said that because of the brass button clutch when ya put ya foot on it,it makes a "wurring" noise, and is constant til it engages a gear. does anyone else know much bout brass button clutches cause its puttin him off a bit. cheers, adam

i lost my licence about 3 weeks ago but i stil wasnt gonna miss out on the day. got my mate to drive me. hehe. didnt mind. stil had fun cruising with a crap load of other lines and the spot we went to was prettysweet aswell. would have been better in summer as it had a good lookin beach. bbq or something should be organised for next time aswell. just a suggesstion.

yeah im right to meet up in beaumont at 10am.....meet yas in there. should be a good day. wishing id changed over my o2 sensor now, was gona do it this week but couldnt get part in time.....damn petrol prices.
-
would it do any damage to the engine adding the octane booster when already filling up with 98 octane fuel. would run a bit faster and cleaner???
-
put me down aswell.....bout 90% sure that i'll be there. will try to stay off the turps too much the night before... but seein how its not too early so i should be right.

Alarm and Immobiliser system - HELP!!
GTS4dood replied to tjleishman's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
I dont have too much knowledge with the alarms.......why is black wiring an indication of a good system?? is it simply so a thief wouldnt know what wires to cut? -
GTR tune up on a 2WD dyno
GTS4dood replied to writeoff's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
yeah i knew about the fuse as i have a switch on my R32 GTS4. i think it different on the R33's. isnt it run through the cars computer instead and not a fuse? -
GTR tune up on a 2WD dyno
GTS4dood replied to writeoff's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
?? the 4WD only works when theres traction loss..... so wouldnt a 4WD dyno be useless. as the front wheels wouldnt engage. correct me if im wrong...and if i am then wouldnt a 2WD dyno be totally wrong to test on as it would launch the car off the dyno once the front wheels engage. ??? -
ive driven a fair few different model skyline's.....and i own a GTS-4 so i may be biased but i would never choose a GTS-t over the -4. they have many similarities to the GTR but without the hot price tag. And the good thing about the R32's is that the 4WD is run by a fuse so a switch can be hooked up easily to swap from rear wheel drive to 4WD instantly. good for drifting and racing. all round winner in my eyes. ***cheers***
