  8. I was planning on renting a sports car and doing this for my gf's bday, but no one rents out a new mustang
  9. Happy birthday guys, hope it's a good one
  10. From what I read I can happily continue my gps because it's not a phone. And if I want to use my iphone as a gps I just put it in an approved cradle, which doesn't seem unreasonable. The intention seems to be to stop people from claiming they were using their GPS when they're busted using their phone.
  11. True, but who knows what the future will bring Just realised, I live at number 33, and have 4 doors including the flyscreen... does that count?
  12. This thread makes me sad
  13. Yeah, sold the 13 to buy a house, so have a 626 wagon to get around in. Have some idea on things to do, but they can wait a while
  14. Online vicroads status most likely VicRoads: Vehicle Status Checks

  16. yay the mazda wagons! keeps me inspired that one day my daily can be decent (but with significantly less power)
  17. I would have thought that with a person in the car and the engine running (was it?), you'd have been standing rather than double parked... probably doesn't make a difference though
  18. A car forum with lawyers and accountants :P I guess I'll need to dig up the agreement. I always thought that there was a law that a payment couldn't occur before the due date, and had to fall on the next bank day, kind of the like the one that pay must be received by the due date, and so fall on the previous bank day.
  19. Anyone know anything about banking laws specifically relating to when a payment(direct debit) falls due on a weekend or non-banking business day, as to when the company can make the debit request? I always assumed that it was the next banking business day.
  20. Which day were you guys at the 'ring? A mate from work was running around in a rent racecar golf on the 26th.
  21. There isn't much difference in labour between doing a clutch and a manual conversion. You still have to drop the box and refit and refit the clutch, you're just refitting a different box. The difference is mainly fitting the pedal box, master cylinder and clutch line.
  22. If you look at the screws closely the edges that get hit by the screwdriver when undoing are ramped, causing the drive to pop out of the slot.

    Need A Gps!

I use a trakmate tm350h which I find has several advantages: 1. Cheap, I got mine for $150 new, from a store, not ebay 2. Trakmate is an Australian based company. My previous GPS was an ebay special, and warranty service after sale was non-existent. My trakmate had a faulty speaker after 8 months, sent it to sydney on a tuesday, had it fixed and returned by thursday. 3. All the software is on the SD card, so you can easily run any software you like. I'm running IGo 8, have previous used tom tom and igo 7 on it as well
  24. Happy bday guys, hope it's a good one
  25. Was thinking of turning up for a change (I want a battery charger ), but my wheel bearing seems to be machining the hub, so I may not make it
