  1. actually i heard that excuse from him today!!haha
  2. hows ya block!
  3. i am no expert here, but i have been told that a crank tries to straighten out when reved hard or revved quickly it also tries to stand on it's end, on top of that they are only semi counter balanced.
  4. hehe! we had a bent crank too! laws of physics my friend!
  5. only thing i have to say in this matter, is that "most" of the people looking at this thread a well aware of the laws and situation on importing and using a vehicle for race/rally purposes, many make up part of the very fabric of local racing in australia! as an importer of a race car under rally rego, i will be building this car up at work and at subcontractor shops , this takes plenty od time and as far as i am aware you are allowed to used your vehicle on the roads for an event, to and from an event or in preparation for an event! the photo's i have seen, all are of cars leading upto preparation for events! i am also a holder of a trade plate, and there are all sorts of cases that a trade plate can be used for as far as i am aware, in my case defence force vehicles are not registered at all, all the have on them is a number plate supplied by defence, which is only compliant when driven by a defence tested and license operator, thus we use a trade plate so as to comply with our requirement. also we are a twenty four hour operation so you will see us on the road at two in the morning! you state if a vehicle that " If a car is imported under a race/rally VIA it is not permitted on the road in any way shape of form - Trade plate or not." then you should not go to any australian rally championship evnts (ARC) or any tarmac rally events in australia as 90% of the field is running under import race/rally rego. FACT ALSO given you new arrival here on this forum , you would think you show a little bit more respect to your forum members. there are many on here that have been around long enough to be aware of the rules and requirements.
  6. amec , i think our best around their was around 1:06 but i havent played there since it's been resurfaced so i dont know whether thats helped or hindered times. been nearly 12 months i think since we were there. maryborough sprints are in june at the show grounds and it a little sprint track they set up , like the gatton sprints , fastest around a short course, 175 competitors this year again over two days. a lot of fun and great to camp there and stuff!! michael looks like you were having a lot of fun out at the track day on the 5th ! great pics, morgan park is a fantastic drivers track, i really love it, you must what oil surge there in a gtr though!
  7. bloody engines in & out! it's a pain in the ass , ain it?? something most rb owners experience hehe i think it's easy, i just normally leave it to Mark!! actually he tells me to f##k off as i just get in the way. mind you it''s so much harder on a road car , generally!
  8. brad, i was speaking directly to the Tomei engineer and the do not recommend reving past 8500 even with the full counter forged crank and rods! (maybe for drag only) but for you top end (head) the n1 valves springs are uprated compared to standard, but you may need to uprate them again to ensure they close quick enough for those kind of revs and different retainers etc etc.
  9. if they know what there doing, and take their time all the shims can be one size in all our gtr engines the shims are excactly the same size and quiet as a mouse, ( i learnt the hard way after going to the so called "experts")
  10. i can just imagine , all these cars with crazy mods and three mufflers to shut them up!
  11. hey guys just letting you know there has been a fund setup to help the family of Ashley Cooper to get through this difficult period and into the future, as they have no source of income now! http://www.ashleycooper.com.au cheers russ
  12. yep gtr outsprints the Z06!
  13. yep, good info our first 10 second pass , was a standard n1 engine straight from just jap with a aftermarketset of cams, ecu, airfilters and pumps and injectors, dumps and exhaust (did have a ppg gearbox though, 11.1's prior to box going in) was running vp 109 fuel though. still had standard intercooler, standard exhaust manifold and intake setup pipe work . doing these mods (aftermarketset of cams, ecu, airfilters and pumps and injectors, dumps and exhaust ) can give your more than enough power to start breaking other things & start costing you even more to uprate!! & so the cycle begins! hehe
  14. r34's are awsome always were, always will be just fantastic to drive! and i only drove a standard one ! lol (not standard for much longer though)
  15. yeah there gonna have to be tough!! when i was there the other day a motorbike cruised around the track at about 60 kph and it was fairly quiet, when i went up for a drink ( about 5 miutes later) they lakeside guys were on the phone talking to a local complaining about the noise of the bike!!
  16. that! bloody nice mate!! i bet you are one happy little camper now!! tell me what is aggreko?
  17. lol!!
  18. thats a bit weird! if your transfer case is shot, i dont see how it would cause that issue. you dont have two different size sets of wheels or tyres on the car do you?
  19. good job! i love morgan park, very technical. what lap times?
  20. ta mate! whats on at qr?? there was a radical atthe last sprints a few weeks ago that i went to, it looked bloody nice, fast too!
  21. yep , in one instance i heard of the rubber the lines breaking down and blocking turbo oil feed = blown turbo, then blown engine!
