  1. yeah mate from what i understand they can"t get super soft qualify tyres in sizes bigger than that. some cars were running 245 40 17 so they could run ao48 super soft one lap wonders, really hurt our chances over there not being able to do the same!! oh well next hopefully( we would never have won, but could have top six it with a 57 lap, the car definately had the pace) can you let me know, what sort of money for some semi's?, bloody dear as poison here
  2. i like it! yeah tying to nut some stuff out early new year. we will need to run some big mufflers for lakside. but that would be awsome, will be cool to see a super quick silvia, basically what ever you want but must run semi's and standard firewall position , no space frame hmm thats about it
  3. yes , but as a 10 second al day everyday car can you go race it around a circuit repeatedly or a rally for that matter! and will it last. if it will last then it is worth more than 26 grand. ( i have no doubt there are 10 sec daily driver gtr's out there but if there going to be raced and last they will be worth more than 26 grand) was my point
  4. ikeya shifter not recommended for gtr dog box transmissions
  5. BTW paul beautiful work mate!
  6. i think you need to be very careful! with all these supposedly 26 grand 10 sec gtr's around the place! i dont know of too many 450 kw daily driver gtr's out there, and if you take it to a drag strip or circuit make sure you take a trailer.
  7. as far as sport sedans entering, if it's JDM and is running semi slicks, without firewall mods and doesnt have one piece front ends and the like it , then it would be eligible. (bit more to it than that but thats the basic's) roy, i more personal opionion on the ohlins is that in 1 lap the are probably giving us a second at wakefield, but after that first lap the difference is increasing by the third or fourth lap i would say there would be nearly two seconds in it, and more on a bigger track (this is compared to what we were previously running). so big differences as tyre pressures and tyre temps are coming up!! cheers russ
  8. tacker , are you or annyone you know over there looking for a r32 car for racing, i have black r32 that maybe up forsale? russ p.s your new porker looks fantastic, especially for a daily
  9. yes i agree with that, especially when it doesnt make you go faster, just adds weight
  10. cages would be optional but highly recommended, open class cars at tsukuba , cages were optional!!
  11. so these can be bought in under rally rego??
  12. i would put money on a spun big end bearing! i know that sound well, sorry to hear that. most the time when a big end bearing starts to go , it sounds like it's coming from the top. russ
  13. thanks for all the suggestions! i hope we can get all these good cars together and racing, thanks scotsman for the link, need to have a good set up for the tyre issue. yes we willl definately not be making it to confusing for class entry , very basic rules and classes! from what i've seen most of the improved production stuff will more than be able to hold there own especially with restrictors removed! cant wait! good to hear we all want something like this. more news to come after christmas.
  14. cool mate sounds good! talk to you soon, catch with you hopefully soon after christmas
  15. actually fatz, i wouldnt mind having a drift class but with a speed based theme but not sure how to police the entry to this class. the reason for liking the idea is that there are some great drift cars out there with good steerers and i think they would love to get there car out there with equivelent cars, all possibly a drift section through the day to see some of these cars compete at what they do best. one thing is for sure it definately will be JDM only and simplified rules as the basis for this event, sorry if this does not work for every one but that is the theme!!
  16. i can sum up how many with restrictions there will be with one picture!! anything up to this accepted!! this car was just amazing, full sequential box and flat shifting sounded like an earth quake on gear changes!!
  17. lots of valid points here ! it's good to hear!! one thing i want to try and do is get some of the fastest track jdm cars in the country in one place where we can all drool over them and go racing!! that is the bottom line and make it an event to remember and one that we all want to come back to! hopefully it can be pulled off.
  18. your a classic!! looking forward to seeing you race some more
  19. hehe! it was interesting in japan , we could run open class with all mods and no cage, heaps of freedom - not real wise but heaps of freedom. the other thing i thought was funny, was watching gt500 race cars and lemans cars racing around mount fuji with full size tourists busses full of people also on the track!! haha that was classic stuff
  20. iwe would try to make it very clear whats required for each class to minimize the confusion.
  21. Dont worry about it willo / harry, let it be water under the bridge. were not racing for sheep stations ! yet
  22. Also would like to see a powder puffs class if possible (for the ladies)
  23. if all goes ahead , you will be very welcome. this will be for everyone that has this type of car!! hopefully we can get it off the ground, a website name has been registered, which i wont disclose at the moment but if all goes well info will be available via that and updates and so fourth. i would like the track to be a bit tight and technical so that it's not just about horsepower, so maybe resurfaced wakefield would be good! great place and facilities. the good thing about the format was you could come in whenever you needed over the 20 minute session to make changes, air pressures cool down etc and get back out and into it. loved it
