yep once some more discussions have been had i will open a thread on this for ideas and opinions. it will be at the head of every entry form, judges descision will be final. and we would try to check car catergory on pre event check. as fars as tyres go, we would probably have a list of tyres the are eligible for the street class to eliminate the confusion. i hope this goes ahead, as i know a lot of people would love to get their car out in something they can get some recognition from and build a great event. i really loved the twenty mintue sessions that they ran at Tsukuba, lets most cars compete because you dont have to kill it! almost no cars that competed there would have done 10 laps of QR!! russ -

There definately would be a street car class, on street rubber(no semi's), this class is important, full interior & no cage, with a/c( if original equipment) and i would like to see a hybrid class of jdm cars of any age, so all these datto's and corolla's, 240/260's can compete, all these would be in one class, i would think. -

tell me about it roy! i watched the mspeed gtr stick on six full sets of brand new rubber for three sessions!! haha duly noted! somehow costs need to be controlled maybe we should have a controlled class so that every driver has the opportunity to do well. -
hey darren, you home yet???

listening to the gear change as the r35 was fanging around Tsukuba, the gear changes were damn fast and especially qick on the down shift! the car was just amazing on track for a stocky. russ

it also maybe done in conjunction with a seperate round at QR with paul and his time attack series up here. but they would not be combined so you can win each one seperately if you like but you do not have to do both. -

looking at EC or oran park needs to be reasonably tight track and nice and short, so cars that are not prepared for major power or cooling can get out and have a chance! format would be a practice day prior and race day format would be 2 x 20 minute sessions and 1 x 10 minute session to lay down your fastest lap you can come in and out of pits as many times as you want in those periods to change tyres, cool down , air pressure checks etc, this is the format for Tsukuba Rev Speed. there is obviously a couple of classes but this would be as limited as it can be. all opinions valued so suggest away! russ -

hey guys snowy hopefully we will get to catch up soon, need to get down to Vic ,really want to get around winton again. going to Tsukuba really did feel like racing on a special track, i didnt realize how much heritage was attached to the event either! it was fantastic! i really do want to thank you guys for the support too, it was a fairly big couple of months rebuilding that car and it was good to see it finally over there circulating. roy the wheel alignment was the issue early on, caused by the way we had tied it down! 12mm of front toe out!! luckily i had bought some smart string alignment gear with us to realign the car. it was deeply satisfying to know we had built the car ourselves and here it was screaming arouind Tsukuba. the track looks heaps smaller in real life and the front straight is tiny!! we are already thinking about next year, so hopefully we can get back there. p.s we maybe trying to put together a time attack in sydney mid next year, run under the same format as the rev speed event with outright prize money and trade stands etc with full video coverage, we would be looking to get some sponsors to bring it together and put on a great event. would some of you guys be interested in this?? this would be purely jdm cars. cheers russ -

hey guys i just want to thank you all for the congratulations! it was an awsome experience. i really ejoyed the racing and the people and the experience, the english lads were really nice too! we didnt get get on it with them as they had many late nights working on the cars! just reading what sydneykid was saying, it is absolutely correct tyres really cost us!! but all experience learned , the car had a 58 in it on these tyres but required more time in the last session (only 10 minutes & slow cars on track meant four quick laps and couldnt get tyre temp) all things going well we will be back there next year ( in the r34) with a car that runs 50 flat or better on the sprint at qr and sub 1 minutes at wakefield on semi's, that has to be the new goal! i will post some pics on incar tonight hopefully when i have had a rest, just flew in this morning. marks already got his head under the bonnet of a gtr back here! , we have heaps of ideas! i cant say enough what a cool trip it was to go to the nismo festival(huge! i think i saw over seventy gtr's, 4 gtr 400's in a row on the road while eating breakfast before heading to fuji and the track setup would have been two to three times the size of eastern creek!!) and then tsukuba which is not a big track but very up close and personal with some very very special cars!! rocommended to all jdm car freaks. i would also like to thank the people who helped us with knowledge and products, the car was a reliable bullet and we couldve done fifty laps around there in one session, i think we would be the only ones that could say that! russ p.s we didnt see the american subaru there and the hks evo was still on its way back from buttonwillow in the states (where it kicked there asses!), the driver of the hks evo jumped the uk evo and managed a sub 1 minute for that car. -

hey guys well it's done and dusted! yes 59.6 was our fastest time actually about half a dozen 59.6's. besides the handling issues the car ran faultlessly on both days, so very happy to get under the minute!! i think one of the uk boys got under a minute too in the blue wrx (a high 58 i think) he blew three engines this week!! finally got the car sorted out(handling) but i'm afraid we just ran out of time and did not have soft enough tyres for this type of event, super softs were definately required and we were on mediums and couldnt get anything else regardless of how hard we tried, the m speed car went through 6 sets of tyres ( new tyres for every hot lap!!! ) on the right tyres and in the cars current setup we think it would have been good for a 57 but that would be it! interestingly we had the fastest terminal speed on the straights besides the m speed gtr and he was carrying heaps more corner speed than us, 229 versus 219klm/hr. it was just amazing to be here and see the circuit in the flesh and be part of it, and see what you need to do well here. we learnt heaps and hopefull can return and do even better. we have heaps of ideas for the r34 so should be great. also got to see the new gtr r35 running around the track, the gearbox sounds fantastic very very fast gear changes up and down the gears!! thanks for the support, very much appreciated. cheers russ -

hey guys, well dyno results from yesterday were good 794ps at 4 wheels!! shows you how happy some dyno's are over here! had practice today, we had lots of car handling issues , not entirely sure why? we could not get on the power until the car was completely straight or it would just shoot off the road, just an utter pig to drive. checked the wheel alignment this afternoon when time permitted and we had twelve mm toe out in the front!! we think it may have happened from the way it was tied down in the container for freight, not exactly sure if 4wd is working correctly either and dont have gauges etc here to check that. Mark only managed 1.00.01 sec today but if we get the handling woes sorted out should be another two seconds we think. we would be really great!! some absolutely awsome cars here my favorite is the m speed gtr, just beautiful, they broke the hollinger today but i think they ran a 54!! the UK guys are here running in our group , not sure how there doing yet, dont think they have cracked the minute mark yet and the blue rex failed the engine today. just loving it here, fantastic , just really wish the car was performing! hopefully we sorted it out this afternoon as we did alot of work on it to try and fix it but no chance for a test & event starts at 6.00 am. keep ya's posted cheers russ -
