  1. just kidding!! we have a one way front, in our car. we found a very noticeable difference in traction especially from standing starts and off slow corners. driving style has to be adjusted a little bit generally as powering on too much mid corner will cause some understeer. but the pro's far outway the cons and if you see too much understeer there must be other issues. our gtr seems to have super turn in, good mid corner speed and awsome speed off a corner with the front lsd. to put it into context when chasing down an evo for instance on a tight track, we match there turn in and mid corner speed and much better exit speed generally! cheers russ (p.s dont tell anyone!!)

  12. matty when we are just chugging around, i have found being really forceful with the change is best. If i just lazily put it into gear in most cases it will chatter on the dog gears and feel rather harsh. best to be acertive with it even at slow speeds. cheers russ cya soon , congrats again mate on the pittsworth win!!
  13. hehe!! thats the shit right there!! 130 clicks hitting fence posts and the foot still buried! love ya work!! cheers russ
  14. hey to4gtr i love our ppg dog box, we use a stright cut 5 speed box with the billet selector forks and bigger input shaft. i have very little sympathy for the way i change gears especially downshifting when using gears to help you pull up when i'm really late braking! if i had a synchro box in my car now it would last about five minutes before i would break a synchro. also we always use the clutch for up and downshifting with the ppg box. that said they are very very noisy. and harsh on change when just chugging around. Also as others have stated they still need maintenance, mainly dog gears wearing which require replacing or back grinding to renew them, everything else is pretty bullet proof. i generally have been getting the whole year out of the box, then rebuild. we have never broken a ppg gear or part (although we did twist the smaller input shaft, but we always new we were on the limit with that) . I have broken one of the standard nissan oem parts that get refitted to the gearbox when you buy a ppg set , when this broke it went down between the gears when i was doing about 180kph and smahed every gear in the box including both cases and the sandwich plate!! destroyed everything! cheers russ ( p.s if you have a run around car & your car is going to be mainly track, i would recommend a ppg box. make sure it is built well and thoroughly checked over and use a good donor box)
  15. hey guys for an update! went out saturday morning to do a test. did about 15 laps maybe 18? ( in 3 sets) intial test! result excellent!!! dry sump test - perfect cooling system, oil and coolant- perfect doors and windows didnt flap around cage result - really feel the chassis stiffness testing at about 85 percent on re55 hards, mark did a 1.17:5 on the national which beats our previous best of 1.17:9 very promising on soft semi's at 100percent should put us into the 1.16 bracket wven there werent other mods. next to test is ohlins coilovers (due this week) 4 inch side pipe (already made) different injectors (ready to go) soft compound rubber (due now) will keep you posted and some more pics soon. cheers russ p.s we did have an oil leak (helps to put the dipstick in or plug the tube/hole!!)
