  1. hey glad to hear your keeping it! i think the ppg gearbox's are great, very strong and very fast gear change but the downside is very noisy on the street, if you can afford it holinger is quieter and faster again on the gearchange. i dont think i have seen anything wrong with your driving style!! let me know if you need anything cheers russ
  2. hey pete the cars is really coming along great, but still have oil issues dry sump will be our answer in the near future. the silver one is a stand still for now while we organize a dry sump set up. cheers russ p.s did sell your beast?
  3. no problem, will probably be running at qr this weekend cheers russ
  4. hey there the turbo's are group A n1's(kept them small so we get the power as early as we can) the pedal box is fantastic, heaps of adjustments and really well built, if you are looking at one just make sure you dont get the cheap lower spec item that tilton offer as they are a piece of shit. cheers russ
  5. umm not sure to where to get the gatton entry info, if you interested there is an event in june i think, at maryborough, which is run much like the gatton sprint and just a fantastic weekend no matter where you finish , well worth the trip. you can also camp there. link http://www.wheelsonwidebay.com/index_files/page0002.htm and once again really sorry about the rant cheers russ
  6. i think my favorite car there besides the one i was driving would have to be the anglier, it was off the scale!! cheers russ oh also derek in his open wheeler( i think it was a lola formula 4000)
  7. hey sorry mate!! i love my gtr's!!! maybe i'm just tired
  8. hey thanks for the nice words fineline!! thats was my black r32 gtr that you saw at gatton today and it was a real blast of an event as it was last year.we were defending the title as we won the event last year. bunta i'm not going to get into into an argument with you but, if you had have been their derek pingle himself said that our car was probably the fastest sprint vehicle in the country and i tend to agree with him. (of course as i would).and i think mark did break the tintop record today with a 35.4, our car is a standard capacity engine with a standard crank, with a set of pistons and rods, the dearest thing on the car is a ppg gearbox and the brakes (brakes were replaced because they failed on me last year and i crashed). also for the record alot of the cars we beat were on slicks and we were on re55's hards that we had left over from the dutton rally. the car that came second was the skelta g force which from memory is worth about a hundred plus grand , so about double what weve put into our car. oh for the record! i would like to see an evo run 10.20@137mph down the quarter at willowbank and then run 1.17 second on the national circuit at Q.R and 1.06 at morgan park all on the same weekend with out changing any set up. i also own an evo 9 and it cost more to buy and put a few mods on it to run 12.2@112mph at willowbank than it cost me to buy and build my gtr .
  9. yeah thats them roy , i forgot they have a black gtr r32 as well!!
  10. nah will be right vic snowy, but just going to see how we go in sydney before planing any further. engine will be running again this sunday!! we pulled the engine out last saturday afternoon, going in this sunday. there is a street sprint on up here in two weeks which is a blast that we really want to run, wont have a dry sump setup for it yet though. roy it was john bright/craig burgess that came 4th in a grey gtr. i saw the most immaculate r32 aus delivered gtr i have ever seen, yesterday, f**king amazing! still smelt new inside. with original rubber on it! cheers russ
  11. oh well guys, the gtr just wasnt up to the task! started well but went bad pretty early on, we couldnt get 5th gear after the 8th mile runs at warwick because i miss shifted and spat a circlip of the end of the shaft inside the gearbox. that was okay as we were going to fix it friday night, but we still had to do 4 x nine hundred metre airportruns, so ended up running the engine in fourth gear for almost ten seconds as 8200 rpm, after the third time it didnt like it and started to make a nice noise from the bottom end. real shame as we won all those runs even with out 5th gear !!! in hindsight it was not the smartest thing to do, as when we worked out the math, the oil pump was pulling out of the sump at 1.5 litres a second , so approx. 13 litres in 9 seconds at those revs. luckily i heard the engine note change at idle and shut down, so almost no damage. the boys from sydney in another r32 gtr came fourth which was pretty impressive. mark was pretty happy with his 1/8th mile run 6.9 @ 106mph!! hehe cheers russ p.s dry sump for sydney
  12. i think harrop engneering do fully adjustable swaybars, (adjustable from inside the car) i saw one of there setups on a r33 gtr. cheers russ
  13. Belsil80 the brake pedal when properly setup is firm but has a really great feel to it(so far!!) can lock all four easily if required. evo cam's car is a weapon thats for sure & it's going to be good to race with him and have some fun too aas that evo is only going to get better. roy the r33 is slowly getting there hopefully by march it should be up and running everything is pretty much done now except the block which is happening now. we are hoping for a nine second pass on the 1/4 for it's first outing but we will see soon enough. how's your machine going & will ya be at the nsw dutton?? cheers russ
  14. yeah mate running the bigger one(doesnt look quite as pretty , but tough as nails) and still light cheers russ
  15. we were having issues with brake vacum loss, & needed to get rid of the vacum booster to get a consistent pedal feel( i actually crashed with no brakes late last year) a pedal box lets you get rid of the booster and allows for greater adjustment in all areas and gives great feed back through the pedals on braking along with brake bias adjusments. attached is a pic of the unit fitted. cheers russ
  16. no still running AP but we changed the rear rotor setup & fitted a pedal box the pedal box is awsome!
  17. hey peter russ here from the track days with the black gtr r32, shame to see your great car go , as it is a weapon on the track. if your lookin for a pure track car , i have one that might be forsale later this year! when it proves itself!! cheers russ
  18. yeah justin rev resonse , mainly it takes a large amount of rotating wait out. and gets rid of shuddering two piece setups
  19. hey mate as linked below http://www.acpt.com/driveshaft/driveshafts.html just dont hold you breath on there response times toook them awhile to get mine out to me , but as very happy with the product and has never failed even with heaps of abuse, no launch shudder ever!!! and 6 odd kilos lighter cheers russ
  20. hey there yes the ppg boxes are good for that power! as i can attest too and mark jacobson also i think theo woolet aswell. you can also fit a larger input shaft if you are worried about it too. cheers russ
  21. isnt it good that gtr's can have that effect!! cheers mate and yeah evo,s are great, just not as great as gtr's!! evomick top video !! well done and look forward to meeting you. cheers russ p.s did a track day today! and the brakes were fantastic!
  22. i run a one piece carbon tailshaft, and it is almost half the weight and we spin it to 8200 rpm also its rated to 1500 hp. cheers russ p.s we also dont have problems anymore with driveline shudder from the centerbearing on hard launches with the carbon one piece shaft.
  23. hey snowy we will be representing gtr's for the first two duttons and seeing how we go from there! looking forward to it!! car should be quicker but still need to get it to stop.!! cheers russ
