  2. Jimmy's a legend!! can anyone tell me what the maximum rolling diameter difference a gtr will genrally aloow for? Is 295/30 = 661mm & 235/35 = 652mm to big of a difference to fit to a GTR? any info is appreciated. cheers russ
  3. arent they awsome, i saw a couple driving to the nismo festival last year, they look fantastic in flesh on the road!!
  4. not anymore , is that ze secret?
  5. definately either remove the squish area or atleast round off the square edges (if you want to keep compression up ) or they will light up like a christmas tree, and youll get pinging a whole lot earlier of course there are some other things as well , i cant remember but removing one side helps clear the gases too.
  6. come on tell us ze secret!!!
  7. top job Andrew , that cage looks excellent who did the work? Looking very nice indeed!
  8. the ARP'S i used were part of a kit for THE RB26, but maybe there has been an update. the extra length of the stud compared to the original allen key bolt made quite an amount of difference to the oil the breathers would spit out on a lap at QR, ( like about a litre every 2 laps!!) it was the only change we had made, we then cut em down & probelm gone again.
  9. cheers ... i will do some homework
  10. hey snowy ..what are a good set of 19 inch semi's tyres i could try?
  11. easiest way is to use thread lock and white mark the stud and keep an eye on it as you are tightening up. and definately dont overtighten (as in add some extra tension)
  12. hey dunc you may already know this but if you go to heads studs over stock, if ya use ARP'S shorten them up as there too long and stick up about 10mm past the nut and hinder oil return flow & there already bad enough at that. also make sure the studs dont turn as your tighten the head down especially if they are bottomed as it appears it can cause the cracking across to the water jacket. cheers russ
  13. russ... has the bug ! BIG TIME and your right i found it very challenging and i had very steep learning curve, trying to control what i would like to do in a car that is so superb & capable of so much & what i was capable of...hehe. if anyone has any suggestions on how to get some semi's on the car , i am all ears.
  14. well guys... as above ! we are back! i am hung over and completely stuffed. well I am no longer a tarmac rally virgin.... IT WAS AN AWSOME EXPERIENCE! hats off to ben for sitting beside me he did a great job. I learnt alot about the car and pace noting and i have so much more to learn. Thanks for the drinks Kel/ Duncan and it was great to meet you Kel now just got to catch up with Duncan!! i was so drunk i couldnt see straight, still better than Mark though..haha well done Kel , I reckon you guys would have been right at the front if you had some semi's. The car was awsome and i had a few big moments.. three to be exact (mostly on Ben's side...haha)! but i was lucky to be able to drive away from them and finish the rally. it rained or was wet for nearly the whole event so it was very tricky conditions and certainly had me on my toes the whole time. the tyres must be rock hard because they did not wear at all and the only had 30 or 40 percent before the event start & they have done alot of laps!! time for some new ones now. I was really happy with the result as my goals before the start were a hopeful top 10 and to finish the event.. & i managed both. missed out on 8th by 2 seconds! I have never seen roads like those in Tassie and it was so challenging & frightening at times, there is moss growing out of the middle of the road for god sake! and most of one of the stages is flat out ever seeing sun. My favorite part of the rally was probably the last 6klm's or so of the last stage which was quite dry and very hilly and cresty and we were averaging speeds above 200kph for the most part and some parts up to nearly 250kph! As a novice in rallying I am really looking forward to some better rubber and also a dry event! BRING ON SOME MORE!! Cheers Russ
