  1. Depending on date's, I'll be keen.
  2. I have considered sticking with the 2.6 but I'm a little bit old school and have alway worked with if you want more power/torque, you need more cube's. I also don't really want to blow the origianl block up. 3 ltr block's are a dime a dozen so you can keep busting them and it's not really a huge problem.
  3. Heyall just about got through the hole 199 pgs of this topic and by the look's of it there is a hole lot of different combo's you can do with different yr head's and so on. I'm looking to put a 3 ltr in my 91 R32 GTR. Will it work??? And is it worth it. ??? The car is currently making about 250 rwkw. It goes alright but more power is always better. (My Stinking old Falcon ute goes Harder). I'm looking at hopefully getting up around the 550 600hp mark. Am I dreaming or not??? Where is the best place to start. (Apart from getting the engine). Any feed back would be great.
  4. I agree the Nulon pro strength is one of the better one on the market. I didn't really notice any difference in my GTR but I run it in my Falcon ute that has a 351 clevo in it running 11.5 to 1 compression ratio and I noticed a huge difference, its stopped pinging all together and I could really advance the timing and gained nearly 15 rwkw because of it. Gotta be happy with that.
  5. It would pay to pull all your intake component off eg intercooler, plumbing and even maybe intake manifold off and make sure it is all clean from more metal. I would be reverse cleaning your intercooler to make sure there is nothing left in that, as metal does not do engine internals any good at all. Don't matter if you have forgies or stock pistons, metal will not do them any justice. Not only do you have to worry about your bottom end you have to consider what all those little bit's of metal have done to your valve's and seat's. Only time will tell if it has done any damage, here's hoping it hasn't.
  6. If you can get to your in take tube easily take that off the turbo and see how much end float you have. Just grab the turbo shaft and try and move it back and fourth. There should be a little bit of end float so don't be alarmed if it does move a bit. (Do this when the engine is cold and stopped). If there doesn't seem to be much end float you may have a leaking intake manifold gasket. A easy may to check this is to start your engine and let it idle, get a can of aerostart and LIGHTLY spray it around the intake manifold where it bolts to the haed. if you have a leak it will be sucked into engine and you will hear your engine start to run a little rough and maybe increase in RPM. (Try not to spray aero start any where near electrical conectors eg injectors). As i said you will only need a little bit of this stuff to notice a difference in the way your engine run, so don't just keep spraying it around for the fun of it, as it make's a hell of a mess. Hope that helps mate.
  7. I hate to say it guy's but Holden have had the GTR badge for alot longer than Nissan. In the late 60's early 70's they had LC XU-1 GTR. (Torana). Was a great little car for it's day but not as good as Ford's mighty GT. I 2 have seen VT's getting around with GTR badge's on them. A Maroon one on South rd on Saturday, huge great big GTR sticka on the back window and I must say it did look stupid, With stock wheel and all.
  8. Found some good reading for anyone who is running in a new engine. http://www.mototuneusa.com/break_in_secrets.htm
  9. Nothing illegal about running it on Jet A1. It's only refined Kero.
  10. My R32 GTR is in the mid north if that is any help.
  11. Hey all. Just a quick up date on the jet. Haven't got it on a go cart yet, and more than likely won't till I get a new turbo. Stretched it past its limits a couple of weeks ago and siezed the turbo. 35psi was taking it just a bit to far. Geez it sounded good before it stopped. So currently on the hunt for a new turbo.
  12. Mate I would be keen if you still want to get rid of them
  13. Some thing to be aware of mate if you apply 12 volts to a fuel pump that is not in the tank they can and will blow up. fuel vapours in the pump will ignite and kaboom. Got a R32 GTR pump. If they are the same you can borrow.
  14. Yeah mate that 32 GTR was mine. Big problems with the boost controller. Heap of S$&% wouldn't make power. Got a 82 XE falcon ute thats making alot more than my GTR. Go figure ????
  15. Heaps at the moment as ther is no young people doing that kind of stuff. So the old blokes ask what ever $'s they want.
  16. Too much work and not enough people. If you ever get the chance get a Saturday paper from Perth and the employment section is about as thick as our Saturdays paper. Not Dangerous. You only here about the bad shit on the news, their safety standards in oil and gas and the mines are alot better than you will ever see in any city job.
  17. Hate to sound old school here guys, but every swinging dick is going and getting some sort of uni degree and not following up with what they have studied. i'm a qualified Diesel Mech and have been for about 8 years now. At the moment in Aust there is the biggest shortage of qualified trades people and believe me there are plenty of companies out the are paying big dollars for people who have a trade and are willing to work a bit. Currently working in the oil and gas industry off shore over the west and there are people out there making money like you wouldn't believe. Mostly working 3 weeks on 3 weeks off. Mines are the same big money on rotation work. And they can't get people, as there is that much work.

    New Guy

Nothing wrong with a v8 ute. I got one and if I could get traction It would keep my R32 GTR very honest.
  19. If you haven't already got one try South side Radiators out at Wingfield. Delt with them alot mainly with big industrial or truck radiators. Never had any hassle's with them and they always seem to be cheaper.
  20. Found these while in Muscat Oman. Omanies are crazy about fast cars. The holden was a ozzies dudes car. He got the badges sent over from oz and put them on him self. As over there they are called a Chev Lumina.
  21. Sorry all. Won't be this week ends got to go back to work.
  22. Mate do you need them just to sit your car on or are you still going to drive it around. If you just need them to sit the car on ford falcon have the same stud pattern. The off sets are a little different. I think the EF throught to AU are the closest off set to skyline.
  23. Not likely to go bang. Well at least I hope not. The outer casting of compressor and turbine housing are big enough to contain ever thing if it does go bang. As it is a truck turbo they don't use a roller bearing set up. It's just a shaft running through a brass bush, so that would sieze before it blew up. I just control it by the tap on the gas bottle. As soon as you turn the bottle off the flame stops and the trubo spool's down. I'm not going to run it any higher than about 25psi boost any way, That will keep it in the working range of the turbo.
  24. They do some real strange things in the middle east mate.
  25. For those who are interested I may be in Adelaide next week end with the jet engine. (Got some mates that want to see it in actions). So if any one wants to come and check it out feel free. Will keep you posted on where and when.
