  1. Will try that tonight. Good thinking ninety nine!
  2. Not sure what you mean by lip... but it's the same as in the picture (i'm at work a don't have a pic of my car 's rear bumper here!) And max said there'd be no problem clearing it, he'd just make it flush with the underside of the rear bar.
  3. nice idea... i like it and that would also mean digital quality picture!!! I work in IT and have some very resourceful friends who might be able to modify or write the software for it. All I need is the translation of functions to work from. Will have to get crackin on that next year.
  4. Anyone had any experience with the Powerlock immobiliser??? Following extracted from the CarSafe website (just in case you are looking for an immobiliser): Most insures will require an Australian Standards approved immobiliser for Comprehensive cover.
  5. Right... i spoke to Max at Towbars of Woden this evening, took my Stagea around for him to have a look. Max also said the chassis of the Stagea is somewhat special, having an extra cross member which will make it very strong. Towbar manufacturing costs: Standard (rated to about 1300kg) - about $350 Heavy Duty (rated to over 2000kg) - about $650 Compliance plates for custom fitted towbars: Single towbar - $550 extra towbars for same vehicle - about $100 each So if three of us want tow bars and all want it fully legal and complianced, we would only pay $250 each compliance on top of the Towbar manufacturing cost. We don't necessarily need to get the towbars complianced though. They can be fitted without the compliance plate, they just wont be completely street legal.
  6. I'm meeting with Max today at 6pm so he can have a look at the car and we can discuss the requirements. Will fill you in on the details after. Anyone else want in?
  7. Also, I got this email from Nissan regarding conversion of the Xanavi system to English: The Xanavi site is http://www.xanavi.co.jp/index_e.html But they don't appear to have an email contact. I have also searched the Japanese version of the site for an email address and haven't been able to find one! Only a postal mailing address.
  8. This sounds like the same Xanavi CD/TV/Climate Control touch screen system that I have in my Series 2 Stagea. I have been trying to get some information about converting it to english, so far no luck. Mine only plays CDs. I tried hooking up my MP3 player to both the inputs on the bottom left but haven't had much luck, I might not have it on the correct setting though. I can also only get the sound for the TV stations. I heard "somewhere" that the aerial wasn't appropriate for Australia... seeing as I have very few skills with radio spectrum stuff I wouldn't have a clue how true that is. The NTSC / PAL argument sounds much more valid. I need some sort of electronics genius to convert it to English and add an NTSC PAL converter: http://www.micronica.com.au/catalog/nps3000/ http://www.goldenshop.com.hk/AI-trad/Misc_htm/m_kdv500.htm Both look to be the same model.
  9. Anyone with an S2 know???
  10. That was me... or at least my car. Only had it a few weeks now. Yes - very stock except for Nissan 17" wheels. Mods on the way! PS. I wave.
  11. Is it a 2 or 4wd dyno? I've got a Stagea you see... I'd be interested in coming along even if I can't run on the dyno, just to meet a few other SAU members.
  12. Does anyone know if the Stagea (S2) comes with a factory immobiliser? If so, how many points does it work on? I need to know if I have to go a buy an immobiliser.
  13. Can someone tell me what the coil pack is / does?
  14. Hey, only read my PM last night, sorry. I'll try to give you a call today! If I get the chance, I'll gve Max a call and drop in to show him the car and see what his thoughts are. I've got a Dayz kit on mine so my rear bar is a little lower than standard and I'm not sure how this will affect the installation / design. Ideally I don't want the rear bar cut, but I'll see how it goes. I'd like to get a removeable towball too... not sure what your thoughts are on this. Also something to think about is whether you want it engineer certified or not.
  15. yeah... maybe... i guess it depends on whether Max is able to do it this week.... Why?
  16. Has to be before xmas!!! I've been busy the last few weeks so haven't been able to organise anything. I'm mostly free now for the next couple of weeks, so will be a good time to get something going. T
  17. I was also thinking of getting a Hayman Reese bar customised to fit. But for the same effort and less coss I can get a full custom bar made.
  18. I'll also confirm that Series 2 come with Xenon headlights. They are also height adjustable from inside the cabin. I also have a touch screen Xanaxi TV/ Climate Control/ CD PLayer - very sweet, except it's mostly in Japanese. I haven't seen these on many other Stageas! And interestingly, no external antenna. The antenna appears to be built into the rear window. There's an FM radio blackspot right near me and the Stagea provides much better reception than any other car I have driven through the blackspot.
  19. Might have been. It's got the DAYZ bodykit and 17" Nissan wheels, stock otherwise. I'll be putting on some 18s and lowering it a little, then it should look really good. Did she say the driver looked awesome too??? I had the rear bumper resprayed to remove a small scratch. But the rest is stock. Might be a part of the DAYZ kit, becaus eof the different front and rear bars.It does look nice like that though. My old Mx5 had chrome on the bump strips and I removed those because it looked so much better as one colour.
  20. I'm convincing a friend and my mum to buy one as well.
  21. My name is Tee, we had a chat about your Stagea a month or two ago outside your shop. I was the guy that saw your Stagea outside and asked if I could check it out. And now, I'm also the super proud (and amazed) owner of car above.
  22. marc2, Do you own the tyre shop in belco?
  23. What have you found out? I spoke to Lloyds Caravans about a Hayman Reese towbar, but they said they wouldn't have anything to fit the Stagea. Now that I have it, I'm going to take it to them and check again.
  24. Sounds great Terminal. I'm diving for the next three weekends though, so I piss off on Friday afternoon. After that though, I'll be up for it.It's not too different to the auto's I think. Handbrake is on drivers side of gear lever, and that's probably it... Damn it drives nice though. I don't have the options for selecting different road surfaces, like snow gravel etc. How tall are you???? I'm 186cm and don't have a problem.
  25. Not the easiest, they mostly come in auto, you'll pay a premium for a manual, but i think they are well worth it. There a silver one in the gold coast which also appears to be in awesome condition... http://www.motovationimports.com.au Check out their inventory... i sort of wish i had bought that one!!!
