  1. well i hope they look better in the flesh!! for mine, that thing looks awfull!! Dave
  2. well i was wondering if anyone has done it and thaught they might be able to let me know what they came across in the way of problems doing the job, ive had a good look at it and it looks quite plausible im really suprised that knowone has replied sayn they have done it yet, i dont know heaps about sound systyms but i dislike boxes in boots as they take up room and for mine its like you may aswell put the sub in another car because the boot is a sealed erea a freind of mine once had a vr comodore with the sub in the centre of the rear seat and it was awsome, it didnt take up too much space, it looked awsome and sounded even better! i have also seen one in a car wich had a sealed box around it (in the boot) and ports going thru the parcel shelf? maybee you need a certian sub to get the right effect? i was considering the alpine type R do you install sound systyms fhrx?.... does my idea sound silly to you??...lol Dave
  3. mine is about 2800 i think... (too high for me as far as freeway driving goes!) ill check it out next drive and let you know Dave
  4. ive experianced this problem guys and what i now do is put a couple of beads of sikaflex behind the number plate before fitting it, sorts it out no worries, just remember that it will be dam hard to remove if ever needed maybee use silicone? mind you, if your cranking enough bass it,s alwase going to be hard to prevent vibrations....... a bit like tryn to stop a dash vibrating in a four wheel drive when on coragated roads Dave
  5. cool, ill check it out... it wont be easy but ill give it a go and put some pics up when complete give me a year or two thou...lol Dave
  6. just wondering if anyone has mounted a sub in the centre of the rear seat (flush) of a R33? a mate of mine once had a 12" mounted in the rear seat of his vr comodore and it sounded great! also it didnt take up any space in the boot ect
  7. re the fakes, i know there was a lot af trust copies getting around. mind you, pretty hard to tell the difference!
  8. oh man....sounds like its half written off!!! the noise is proberly the damage to the box caused by the button clutch wich do have a habbit of destroying gearboxes defently stay clear of that one!!
  9. its defently going to be better than your stock one, and i think if you dont intend on pushing it to hard then it would be fine for up to 250RWKW. but on the other hand id also be worried about having to change it if it wont cut the mustard on a warm day up a good hill ect, i hate having things pushed to there limits if you know what i mean. personly thou id have to see one in the flesh as they just seem to be to chaep, oh year and the other thing is that piping/clamps/hoses and all the rest not to mention you time do add up if it dosent come with all the bits and peices as a dearer kit would.
  10. who else can vouch for the exedy?.....how much power will the hd model take?
  11. thanks duncan for the advise(much appreciated) i have changed a timing belt on a rb30 wich i guess is a bit easier, im a marine mechanic by trade so im totaly confident but would like to hear anyones advise re the timing belt change as theres always much to be learnt. i still cant find that dam manual either???
  12. i have just spent a while looking at this thread. in all honesty i truly belive that $1500 to get a throttle body located at the front of the engine bay is madness, expecialy when you still have the stock bottom half of the factory intake runners bolted to the engine. as for putting shit on the greddy intake......well that just takes the cake for me!! fancy anyone saying that a company like trust/greddy cant make an intake as good as one slapped together in australia wich still uses the stock bottom half and a shiney peice af aluminiam on top, what a rip off!! i think we all should put our heads together and help out greddy because they obviously dont know what there doing??? they proberly dont even test there products??? maybee there got no idea whatsoever??? mmm i wonder if they even heard of the word nissan??? dead set!!
  13. just wondering why a different afm is needed?
  14. anyone at all with the high flow???
  15. cool, i fitted the cooler tonight and ill sort out the piping maybee tomorow... its ok im confident. i think i was just interested in what it said, particuly the picture of the blow off valve. if i need further help ill pm you thanks Regards Dave
  16. has anyone fitted a trust v-spl cooler kit to there gtst and if so do you know where i may be able to get hold of the instructions in english?
  17. im in the same boat as you, just started modify my R33 gtst. the one thing you didnt mention is how much power your after?.....when i ist got my car i had huge plans for making stupid amounts of power but since ive had it and even in stock form it has impressed me %100. so far ive only added twin dump pipe and full 3" exhaust/pod filter.... and the thing screams!! maybee look at minor mods and think about spending the bucks on suspension ect? as for the ecu, i agree with alan in the sense that its important to get the right computer for the right tuner, what do any of you guys think about some of the other brands on the market like ems/ motec ect? is there a reason there not popular? also can anyone tell us how there high flowed turbo goes? as im interested in getting it done as i wouldhave thaught the smaller turbo would have some advanteges Regards Dave
  18. when i got my twin dump pipe from cesracing.com it was an extra $150 to get it ceramic coated, this is great for heat retention and because its on the inside aswell it improves overall flow and also wont change colours like stainless can. mmm the tape looks realy daggy i reckon! hope thats some help Regards Dave
