  1. Bad luck Terminal, uncanny two like leech_ I was on my way back from Bungendore one night with my girlfriend riding shotgun. Been sitting on 130 since i left and hadn't touched the brakes, so I thought it would be a good idea to warm em up incase i need them. Started doing a few hard brakes down to 40kmph to get them really hot and low and behold around the very next corner was about 50 roos all over the road. I steered around two and stopped right infron of another who got confused and keeped hopping down the road and not off it. Would have been carnage for sure had i not been doing only 50 or so when i saw them. Some of us have all the luck. lol
  2. My car makes alot of clicking noises from the rear when taking off or reversing. It usually sounds like the right rear cause it's closer to you then the left and you may find it is both sides or even central as in the diff. If it's more of a clunck then I would have a good look at the four rear subframe mounts. I broke two on mine and the whole rear of the car walked around and under some circumstances would clunk and bang when going over lumps and bumps in the road. If it is the diff you should here more of a ratchet sound of a few clicks rather than one single. Good Luck
  3. I've got just on 200 rwkw. It uses around 15 litres per 100km around town without getting on boost all the time and around 10l/100km on the Freeway at 120kmph. Under 120 in fifth it actually uses more juice trying to push the turbo and is really hard to keep at constant speed. She loves 140kph or 4000rpm. Last track attack at Wakefield I used 20 litres for 65 km. I've got stock injectors, AFM and regulator but GTR fuel pump and APEX piggy backs.
  4. That was a handy thread guys, cheers! Just bought a set of GTR injectors for my RB20 of the Forum. Didn't realise it wasn't just a bolt in and retune the AFC! Doh!
  5. I would rather watch the best drivers in the world racing on the best racetracks in the world any day, over watching a procession of the best money in the world! Bring back slicks, get rid of driver aids, remove the downforce and reduce the horsepower. Even with 500 horses, they only way 600kg's not many circuit cars can compete with that. lets see some races won by drivers on the track not the number crunchers or tyre changers in the pits. Cheers
  6. Yeah, it's fixed and side mounts. Oh Well Cheers mate.
  7. Let me know if still for sale. Cheers Nick
  8. Still for sale Brad Do you know if they can go straight in an RB20? Let me know Cheers Nick
  9. Count me in INASNT, I just bought Troys Velo Esprit seat and if it can be fitted with these rails i'll get one drivers side for R32 please. PM me with a price and available date as soon as you can. Cheers mate.
  10. Plugs have caused me major headaches. After having Platinum fitted without my consent and gapped at the standard 1.1 I had massive ignition breakdown when boosting above 15psi. These plugs also caused a lot of heat build up and therfore detonation even after I regapped them to .8. I then used an NGK in a colder heat range of 8. These ran a bit rough on the street until decent temperature was there. On the track there were great. They reduce the combustion temp and therefore keep exhausts temps lower and that all translates to less heat in the engine which keep air inlet temps down and water temps under control. These plugs were shot after the track day, so after recommendation I've gone for the Iridium in the 6 heat range and 1.1 gapped back to .8. There already running a bit rough at idle and were breaknig down on boost but only after cruising on the highway for a while. I can't see the value in them.
  11. Spotted this morning a couple of cops pointing a radar at me whilst I was doing 123 in a 60. Lucky because a few seconds later i would have been doing a lot more. If any one knows fyshwick well, whats that street that runs off Newcastle past Bunnings and all the way down to a very nice left hand corner. There hiding on that corner at the request of local shops who have reported drivers behaving badly. I don't know what their talking about.
  12. Your right, didn't know. Sorry if I didn't wave back. I think i remember a forrester trying to late brack me into the roundabout on that road. Did i win? See ya!
  13. Yep! As soon as the car is sliding, it's "drifting". To what degree depends on how much skill you have and the perfomance of the car.
  14. I wouldn't worry about trying to perfect the car at this point in time. The driver needs the work. I don't mean that in a derogitory (don't knock the spelling) way but until he's running consistent times at the peak of the current set up which may be @ 13.5, then what has he achieved.
  15. What Murray Said! You could be in the best KART in the world but a bloke who knows how to set one up and actually drive will make you look silly! Good Luck anyway
  16. Yeah Andrew that's me. It is a GTS-T G'Day Mark, yeah I probulary gave it a hit! Can't resist that surge when she comes on boost. Although I was suppossed to be taking it easy with the new diff for 500km. So next time I may give it some more. Yee - Haaa!
  17. FUNKYMONKEY, i appreciate that. You'll hate me even more when i tell you I have taken out a persons letter box. Back in 1996 before I even heard of the word drift. Driving a sweet Fiat 124CC. Delivering it to it's new owner, my last chance to drive it. Wet roads, only had to go 3 kms. Linked three corners together on a big uphill section, dug the nose in and launched over the gutter, two driveways and eventually thru a lettrebox and wedged onto their water meter. The owner came out of his front door as I desperately tried to reverse the car without sucess. I didn't need need any media hype to be a dickhead. I don't want to take over this forums people but I have lots to say. People have drawn comparisons between the D1 Pro drifters and the Aussies. Just keep in mind that these D1 guys mainly come from a professional driving background in other motorsport catorgories and have superior car control skills compared to our top level guys who mostly started motorsport with drifting and only have a few years experience. Imagine if our Top rally drivers like Cody Crocker, Ed Ordinsky, Simon Evans or some of our V8 supercar boys decided to give it a go. Maybe when there is money in it like Japan they will. I garuantee that then we will give these Japanese Pro's a run for there money. It aint just that Drifting is a Japanese sport so their the best for ever. Wasn't cricket an English sport? They suck!
  18. Just another thing. To reply to the posts regarding how Speed magazine thinks a drift car should be built and anyone else who thinks you need to spend lots of moneyto do it, think again. If anyone here went to the recent practise drift day at Eastern Creek run by Intitial Drift you will have remembered my Brothers Blue 4 door R31 skyline. Bought for $ 1500 he chopped the springs (for looks only) , welded the diff center up and bought some spare rims and cheap tyres from Pick and Payless. Oh, yeah and put a pod airfilter on and disconnected the exhaust for track stuff. So for less then $2000 he's out there showing everyone how to do it and it's a stock RB30 atmo with a locked diff. So don't think you can't get in to this sport without a dedicated drift car or specific drift set up. Someone here mentioned you cannot drift a car that is set up for drags. Thats just dumb, my 32 can do circuit laps, go to the drags and do a drift day. Sure it's not going to be ideal for every event, but it's still there doing them all and i'm having a ball in a car that is built to be driven. 1min 12sec at wakefield on street tyres 13.2 1/4 mile on street tyres Drift is about style and i've got plenty. lol
  19. I support any new and exciting motor sport opportunities. Drifting is one way that ordinary people can flog their road car in a safe and affordable way as long as it's done in a controlled environment like the one Initial Drift provide regulary. Don't paint all drifters with the same brush because some loosers talk it up, can't do it and have no actual knowledge of what there talking about. There are more dickheads out there that proclaim to do quick lap times on a circuit and stupid quater mile times on a day to day basis then are difters talking it up. How many people here no of a bloke who's got a mate with a torana that runs 9's and is street driven. (wankers) I also put shame on those loosers who give the scene a bad name by causing carnage on the public roads and have no idea what their doning. But again there are more idiots in Commondores, geminis and cordias who think they're racing drivers and cause just as much carnage but we don't rite off every one who enjoys fast cars because some of us share the enjoyment and can actually drive. FUNKYMONKEY it sounds like you don't enjoy drifting, that's OK. But don't be so narrow-minded.
  20. Flat changing in a syncro gearbox is not a good idea. Maybe when you install a straight cut dog tooth box it will be good. Double shuffling or double clutching is probulary best described on forums such as "Diesel Landcruiser Australia", "Mack Truck USA" and "HQ Holden heaven" However, heel and toe down shifting is all good!
  21. What? Sorry? Can you speak up? I can't hear you!
  22. Yes please! Anything from Wakefield mate!
  23. Good Advice Majanal! My little Bro just picked up a 31 4 door hack and simply welded the diff and cut the springs. Did his first drift comp at Oran Park the other day and it did good. All up spent less then 2 grand.
  24. Try attaching it to a rocket! Just kidding! Depends heaps on your clutch, suspension setup and tyres. If you don't mind burning your clutch a bit just slip it a little until your away while realeasing the handbrake to limit wheel spin. Don't let the revs go below about 5000rpm. Stock clutch will probulary fry.
