  1. I've got the original turbo from my r32 GTS only done about 70'000 Ks, Garret T28 with ceramic compressor wheel

  3. Cheers to every one who went. I had a great day on the track for my first time its good to have had no incidents or failures with the car. Thanks Roy, I enjoyed your 32 aswell. Next time you drive mine it might have breaks and I'll try and dial out the instability in the rear. You can try a bit more boost next time!!! If any one out there thinks their a quick driver and havn't been on a track, think again. And inject your balls with steroids too if you want to take turn one at more than 180k. By any chance did some one pick up my ferrari hat at the Cricketers Arms. I think I left it there?????
  4. My car has HKS T3G fitted with an old HKS tube & fin FMIC. It runs APEXi ITC & AFC computers with standard ECU piggybacked. An adjustable electronic Blitz boost controller keeps boost at 15psi all day. With this set up it pulled 171kw at the wheels but pigning at high rpm when intake temps got up. To be safe for track day Eatern Creek coming up, I fitted a rising rate adjustable fuel reg in case lack of fuel was causing pinging. After re tuning on the dyno it pulled 200.5 kw @ rw. Now i'm fitting water spray to keep intake temp down.
  5. Yeah my mistake. They need to be moved about 10mm from the center. The new rotors are also 2mm thicker. Does anyone know if standard callipers will fit this. I think i've been given the bum steer with the whole package as i've also been told now after paying deposit for the order that it'll need to be certified (@$500). Hence me lookn for an already certified part that someone might already make.
  6. What size wheels do you need for 330mm? I would like to keep the 16in GTR rims so I think 296 will have to do for now. How much does it change the balance of your brake bias if you go huge on the front and havn't touched the back???

  8. I'm fiiting 296mm rotors to my R32, does anyone know if someone already makes an adapter to move the caliper out about 20mm. Email me directly if you know please at [email protected] Need to get this sorted before Eastern Creek day.

  10. A mate of mine has an R33 GTS-T with no cat and a big fuel reg. It drags flame about 2-3 feet for a few seconds after backing off at high rpm. We were standing in the Nasho at the 35 corner watching each other do fly bys. Locals at Stanwell wen't too happy!
  11. My RB20 runs a standard (I think!) ECU with APEXI A/F & I/T units piggybacked. Cutout should be 8400rpm but I've seen over 9 without a hint of hesitation. Everyone else is right about wasting your time up there as power gains are non existant even with a solid huffer upgrade. No matter how well engineered the RB series are, they're still going to eventually deteriorate or destruct sooner if pushed that hard! Where's the love? Curious though! Does anyoune know what would most likely give up first? Is it valves, rods or something else?

Thanks for your advise, I'm happy to know it's not some other weid prob and will defiinately keep below 14psi until I fit beter cooler and maybe fuel reg and injectors then onto dyno for tuning. Looking forward to getting this thing out on the track soon and meeting some like minding people. Cheers!
  13. Does anyone know what a safe psi level should be for an RB20DET before it has pinging probs. Internally stock but has HKS T3G and a HKS fin & tube cooler from a FJ20 that's not real big. Air temp at the butterfly when cruising will stay aroung ambient temp but start boosting and it can rise to 60 degrees with ambient being 25-30 degrees. It pings when boost is at an indicated 17-18psi if it starts getting hot. Other mods include APEXI a/f and i/t piggy backing a standard ECU however this engine doesn't seem to have a rev limit? 9000rpm still no cut??? Has Blitz dual stage boost control, Blitz BOV, R33 GTR fuel pump, HKS pod filter and 3 inch from turbo back with N1 muffler. I always run Optimax and used a Octane booster aswell once, but still pinging when close to 20psi. Any knowledge on this problem would be greatly appreciated.
  14. G'Day Roy, I just bought an R32 GTS-T that someone spent a fortune modifying. He had a Tomei system installed that stops the rear steering from the Hicas. It also uses something bolted to the rear rack to lock it solid. Sorry I don't know much more yet but a Tomei supplier may have the whole kit. I think it was intalled at East Coast Suspension Kirrawee, ask for Dave.
