Not RB powered (VQ30DET) but I had never seen one of these before last week when I saw this (actual) one: http://www.carsales.com.au/pls/carsales/!c...icle_id=2027137 out at uni and thought "wtf is that" and looked them up on the net... Plus there's a newer one for considerably more cash: http://www.carsales.com.au/pls/carsales/!c...icle_id=2027982 Looks like they are both the same seller. Please note I am not affiliated with this seller nor am I trying to give him/her free advertising...I just thought this might be of interest to fans of the more obscure Nissan turbo models.

Post pics of yours skylines gtr here.

a 'man-like' Japanese model? How's that work, or don't I wanna know? -
Is it it NSW or Victoria that they've placed power restrictions on p-plater's cars? No turbos full-stop, no V8s, might have been other things too, can't remember. But yeah, if they feel that tactic was "successful" they'll prolly bring it in here next time there's a big p-plater accident. I saw a thing in queensland transport the other day about p plates coming in, not sure when it becomes effective.

I just hate 4wd's full stop. Middle-aged women driving them do seem to be worse, but frankly unless you're a cattle-farmer from the Simpson Desert on a trip to the city, if you drive a 4wd you're a stupid, inconsiderate prick. Why are imports blamed for road accidents when any 4wd who hits someone often turns a minor accident into a fatality, yet there's no goddamn fallout. Little while ago I heard about a father walking his two children home from school. Cross the road, 4wd comes around a corner without looking, can't slow down in time, hits them. Father loses a leg, both his daughters dead. People who drive 4wds feel safe...at the expense of anyone else's safety. I might feel safer if I walked around with a loaded assault rifle, but that's not legal - so what's the difference? Anyway, I feel your pain JL, I think I saw your car at Repco about 2 sundays ago, that carpark is quite large up near the repco entrance, is that where she hit you? she musta backed out a looooong way -
ohh ok that sucks Hope everything sorts itself out

Yeah it's actually on most if not all R33s and 34s....and most 32 GTSts too. I have it on my R33 GTS25t. It's also on some 300zx's incidentally - well, Super HICAS is which is the better version. Though that might only be on the twin turbo.

Hey Funky, how's posting that R33 translation coming along?

R33 Doesnt Like The Cold
Silver'sR33 replied to Skyworkz's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Just go to the WA section of the forums and either look for a thread that addresses it or ask someone. BTW it doesn't sound to me like he thrashes his car, sounds like he's saying he's had these problems from day 1. Sure if it's cold weather you should let your car warm up (for its long term health), but even if you chose to ignore that it should still start on time and not give problems in the short term. Good luck with sorting it out. -
That VIN sounds like the one given to it when it was complied. You need the original VIN off the blue plate at the back right hand corner of the engine bay as you face it.

Yup because if you drank too much Bee*R you'd swear it was an R34.

I'd go to Byron About 2.5 hours drive, most beautiful beaches in the world, hot tanned foriegn-accented girls in bikinis walking the streets...what more could you ask for!!!1

Yeah a lot of porsche purists felt that way which is why they didn't sell that well in most countries, and hence why they're relatively cheap now compared to 911s of similar vintage. That stigma aside tho, they are definitely a real porsche - top of the porsche food chain for many years. If I could afford the maintenance (not cheap) I'd be all over one personally

You wouldn't by any chance be referring to a certain SPEEDy magazine putting a CG image of an artist's impression of a new GT-R on the cover, emblazoned with a headline "THE NEXT GT-R!" or something and then running a one page article of speculation recycled from rumours in other articles?

Yeah I have to admit when I offered my friend's services I wasn't expecting it to be quite that long

Hehe if you already did them Shan I won't worry about it...

European cars are sweet...lots of options there. I wouldn't go Audi as they can develop a lot of problems that are nightmares to fix, a lot of Audi owners habitually get rid of them as SOON as the warranty expires, and pass the *ahem* savings on to you. Porsche - 928S4; a really good 94 model will set you back around 40k, considerably less for older ones, considered one of the best porsches ever made despite their poor sales records in later years. 250k ticket price when new, wicked acceleration, 290km/h top speed out of the factory and 5.0l V8, was the top of the line porsche. Personally, that's what I'd buy if I had the cash and wanted a Euro. There's no other top-shelf major marque european sports car in the world that you can get that kind of value out of at that price for only a 10 year old model. And remember, a lot of people who bought a car for a quarter of a mil 10 years ago would have treated it with kid gloves. (my dad has a 5 year old BMW, you'd think it was new if you didn't know better, ppl with euros are often very careful.)

Hey actually maybe it was a wrong code, because I noted in another post somewhere I think that if you don't drive forward (or back) far enough you can get an erroneous code. I tried this test again twice going forward further and got the HICAS light flashing fast saying everything's ok. In any case unless it causes me any probs I'll leave it be. On a side note - I've noticed people saying they disable HICAS because it develops problems and aussie mechanics never know how to deal with it, but as far as I know the 300zx had Super HICAS and that was delivered locally so Nissan mechanics at least would know how to fix it, and certainly there'd be others who've fixed 300s?

If I'm taking your implication the way I think it's meant...I agree, it's time to take out Carlos Ghosn, any ideas to implement it? An "accident"? :Bang:

Quickest way to ensure Nissan will sell some GT-Rs out here? Get a petition of people together who are planning on buying them, take it to nissan head office and say "Hey, here's 20 people who are willing to pay $120k (or whatever it is) a pop for a GT-R if you'll sell them to us, and if not I guess we'll take our business elsewhere..."

I'm pretty sure all those stands at the bris motor show are (mostly) placed there by local dealer chains to promote their sales...and anyway as far as commenting on future Nissan company policy I reckon they'd be about as qualified as those two blondes who were walking around in latex hotpants handing out flyers... Incidentally I believe local dealers DO resent the number of imports floating around simply because: a) they provide a very real alternative to an otherwise small and expensive sports car segment (ever notice when mazda/nissan etc have their endless sales they never, EVER put 350Z, RX-8 etc on sale?? and B) because imports provide access to a product which often exceeds locally delivered equivalents for a lower price, and is outside the network of authorised dealers: ie they can't make money selling them. This is why most dealers won't service your skyline - not because it's impossible for nissan to get parts, or because they don't know how the skyline works (RB engines are quite common, Super HICAS was in the 300ZX) but because by keeping them outside of the accepted service network they help propagate the fear that people should stay away from imports, that they're somehow inherently going to give their owner trouble etc. The fact that people are interested in the new GTR is proof that their strategies have failed, rubbing their noses in it. Anyway, I read an interview with the head of Nissan Australia a few months ago and he said he would love to sell the new GTR here, if he can, but wouldn't commit cos it was up to Nissan's worldwide marketing strategy basically. If the CEO don't know, somehow I think two lackeys at the bris motor show whose normal job is prolly washing cars at the local nissan dealer may not be in the loop really.

If someone wants to send me an options list in Japanese I'll get a Japanese friend of mine to decode it, her english is pretty good too so she should be able to translate it well enough.
