  1. Was really good to meet up with everyone even tho I had to skip the cruise this time. I think Terry took some photos so hopefully will post some up
  2. Sounds like a real class act Saw a silver R33 Series 2 4-door the other day, first one I've ever seen not in photos, looked sweeeeeet
  3. Dunno mate, just give him a call on those numbers above. Might not be there til monday though, maybe on mobile. I think he's doing 15 year import ones mostly.
  4. At least it was a quiet roundabout
  5. Note: Mods if this is in the wrong forum please move it, thx. Hey, not wanting to post an ad or anything, but just let people know that if they want somewhere that will give a very competitive price on servicing, my uncle Neil Barker has just started a small business complying (mostly R32s, couple 33s) skylines and doing general maintenance. He's had over 30 years of mechanics and drag and circuit racing experience, had over 15 years major dealership service exp., built his own 11 sec concourse-condition Monaro from the ground up, and loves cars to death. I can personally guarantee his honesty and ability. I know with imports especially it's hard sometimes to find somewhere that knows imports, is reliable, and doesn't charge an arm and a leg. He's accredited and everything of course. Anyway, I get him to do all work on mine and I'm more than happy with it - not wanting to make this an ad or anything, just letting ppl know about what I think is a useful service. If interested give him a call at "Custom Brakes & Automotive" 3848 7788, Mob: 0432 358 208 workshop is in Moorooka.
  6. What are you wanting to comply? My uncle complies R32 GT-Rs and GTSts. I'm sure he would charge a very competitive rate as he's just trying to get his own business off the ground. Can also take care of any maintenance. He's very good also as he's got 30 years experience as a mechanic and built his own 11sec car from the ground up. I just got him to change the timing belt, brakes and do a general service on my skyline. His name is Neil, you can call him on 3848 7788 or 0432 358 208 if you're interested.
  7. I may come along for the meet skip the cruise to GC as I'm low on petrol and have something on later...
  8. Yeah but you're only happy to have paid it til you go to your first cruise and people go "You paid how much for that??"
  9. Yeah but on the other hand I've always assumed that if you buy a car from an Aussie owner you can sometimes see the owner for themselves, guage how they feel about the car, whether they love the car. Not all owners thrash their cars - I don't thrash mine, I drive it fast sometimes but that's not thrashing it. I service it regularly, hell I even fix stuff that doesn't really need it just to be sure. Also, cars that come from Japan can have some issues from sitting out on the docks for many months, maintenance things that haven't been done for a while etc....those aren't problems if the car's been here for a year or so. You might have a 93 car that's had 5 jap owners versus a 97 car that's had one jap owner and one aussie one. I know which one I'd want If I wanted a car with no aussie owners I'd want to import it myself not buy it from some dealer. At least then you get EXACTLY what you want, you know what it looks like before the detailing and dealer panelbeating, and most importantly you KNOW that it's straight from Japan. How do you even know this R33 has had no aussie owners? Cos the dealer told you? As for the GT-Rs - they're not as many of them for 20k here as down south but they're around. Only problem is, unless youre reall lucky I would assume that if you spend 20k you better have a few grand ready just in case because at $20k a GT-R is probably old, possibly dodgy and DEFINITELY expensive to fix if you're unlucky.
  10. Ouch you Stag owners are harsh! What's the penalty for asking if a Stagea is "the new Camry Sportivo wagon?"
  11. Will cops unfurl their little pink wings and take to the skies?
  12. Yeah I totally agree, 55k is too rich for a stock, butt-ugly used N/A
  13. It's the headlights I hate the most personally. Granted seeing a car in the flesh is much different, but if you don't like the look of something that's a personal choice, and for many people seeing it in the flesh won't change that because it's something fundamental that they don't like about it. Chrysler Crossfire I think is ugly as, for instance, and I thought this when I'd only seen it on TV and then I saw a couple in the flesh and it just confirmed my original opinion. V35 looks average to me...this is only a problem because I'd prefer it to look somewhat better than average.
  14. Yeah, cheating on Renault
  15. Even if it was released here wouldn't it still be importable under SEVS? and then be worth comparitively less again because Aussie delivered models with full history are available?
  16. Hmm...wonder how much stuff I could fit in one box at nengun? boost controller? Hey Mick, wonder what a silver 33 with clear indicators and clear taillights would look like...interesting I think
  17. if that price from Nengun is delivered then that's an awesome price. Do a search for Nismo on ebay, some of the crap they sell to the american market is just funny, fake nismo everything.
  18. There's a seriously modified pristine showcar Sil80, featured in magazines etc, for sale right now for 20k on nissansilvia.com, now that is a goddamn bargain in my opinion.
  19. I was looking at these too. Out of interest how much are you getting them for? cheapest I've seen is $70 delivered
  20. That's not a good deal, shop around, wait a bit. Private seller is better price too, I got a series II with light mods for $17.5 Or just tell the dealer you'll give him $16k and be prepared to walk if he says no. 17.85 is a rip-off for a 93 model and the dealer would be well-aware of that.
  21. Yup will be there with bells on. Well, no I'd prolly get defected for that hey...but I'll be there.
  22. It's true that wider tyres would be more conducive to aquaplaning but like Krawler said, tread pattern and especially TYRE WEAR are the biggest factors by far. I totalled a car aquaplaning around a corner on quite narrow tyres not long after I got my license, the problem was the tyres were almost bald. That was twelve years ago, since then I never drive on bald tyres and I've never aquaplaned again.
  23. I reckon it would be like anything....if you were willing to spend 6 months looking around first and had the cash ready you'd almost certainly find a bargain. Maybe LESS of a bargain with the 34 than other cars cos it's in fair demand, but a bargain nonetheless. On the last two cars that I bought I looked around for a while beforehand and I wasn't in any hurry to buy - first time I got a car for $3k less than the insurance company rated its market value, and second time about $5-6k less. First time I ended up selling the car for $500 less than I had paid after using it for 2 years. If you look around for a while you really get familiar with what's selling for how much, cos you can't really know what a good deal is unless you know exactly how much something is *actually* worth versus what the price on it is.
  24. Ok cool then, yeah mine is KR4 too according to FAST. What;s the difference between sonic and sparkling? Millenium Jade and Silica Breath look awesome
