the logitech driving force pro works with this game (with 900 deg I think) but I think it's too damn hard to use it.

But...but that would involve breaking "the oath"..! Seriously tho, I speed a bit here and there, but nothing excessive and basically when no-one's around and not even close to being on my or the car's limits. As for racing, drifting etc...it's just stupid, 0-60/80 drags at lights are fine but the rest I wouldn't do with my car just because I wouldn't want to risk my CAR, let alone my LIFE. I think tho that saying "take it to the track" kind of misses the point though, because if these people DID just want th thrill of driving that fast, work on their drifting etc then sure, they'd go to a racetrack. The problem is they have something to prove - to their mates, to the guys in the other car, etc. That's why most of them don't, and won't, take it to the track. If someone revs them at the lights they prolly don't have the courage to back off and be thought of as a chicken or whatever by the other drivers.

Women, 4WDs and carparks....... a recipe for disaster!
Silver'sR33 replied to jlnewton's topic in Queensland
Yeah I dunno, I think they're dangerous and worse, in the city they're unnecessary. I didn't intend to victimise individual SUV drivers, and to be honest something like the Honda MDX is NOT representative of the problem, that's a "small" 4wd compared to some. The thing that gets me is, if they're more dangerous (which is a proven fact) and if they're unnecessary (if you need to take 7 kids to school get an Odyssey), why are they not only allowed but subsidised as they are not subject to passenger vehicle taxes? Cam - I'm sure you and your wife are great drivers, and good drivers in small, relatively safe SUVs like the MDX (which are an anomaly in the vehicle class) aren't really the problem, except that the vehicle class itself causes problems and it's popularity is on the rise - partly because those subsidies makes them more affordable than they should be. The tax break was originally in place because 20 years ago 4wds were considered to be farmer's vehicles only and it was there to help primary producers. More than half of all road users (which includes the 15% or so of 4wders) consider SUV drivers to be dangerous and inconsiderate - there might be something in that. -
Nah mate that's still bad taste Hell commodores themselves are bad taste

S15's please give some opinions
Silver'sR33 replied to twoquik's topic in General Automotive Discussion
well, not having ever driven an S15 but...I can't imagine a S15 can compare with a GTR. New vs old...well yeah to an extent but maybe better to just find a good version of the old. For the same price as I got my R33 (9 years old) I could have got a brand new toyota echo but....heh.... -
Not bad...but is it just me or is there a Renault Clio/Megane in there somewhere....maybe I'm just being paranoid? It is pretty stunning though. If Nissan could make this a pulsar they'd have a bigtime seller I think.

Real men say things like: Cop: Do you know what speed you were driving sir? Real Man: No officer, my speedo only goes to 180. I won't have UHF (I'm a cheapskate) so I think I'll just follow someone reeeally closely -
Yeah just wait mate soon they'll be planning R34 only, all-girl cruises! Maybe a couple of us should follow them in case they need to change a tyre though... j/k (waits for fem-flames)

R33: (gts-t) Series 1 And 2 Differences
Silver'sR33 replied to PranK's topic in Tutorials / DIY / FAQ
Actually I read recently on an options list for 93-95 GTSt's that passenger airbag was an option. The fact that Britto's is the only one anyone's ever seen just shows how much Japanese skyline drivers cared about their girlfriends Looking at that photo tho that looks very much like a series II dash, tho maybe they just used same (similar) dash in S1s which took second bag option? -

Well for a start I think everyone in this thread is referring to SUVs rather than vehicles that have all-wheel-drive in general. Secondly how is it not an intelligent response? There's pages upon pages of evidence to show that SUVs are far more dangerous in rollover and crash testing, their height and placement of bullbars make fatalities almost a foregone conclusion in a side-impact accident and their added weight not only makes every accident they're in more serious, it also makes them more difficult to handle which means they ARE involved in more accidents. If the speed limits on our roads are intended to keep accidents down by forcing people to drive within their vehicle's (and their own personal) limits then does it make sense that large, clumsy vehicles are allowed to go just as fast as small, nimble ones? SUVs are not subject to the same crash and rollover standards that every other private passenger vehicle is. Their height makes line of sight a problem for other drivers and pedestrians, this also causes more accidents. On a global scale they add immeasurably to an already critical pollution problem in addition to rapidly depleting fossil fuels. You're right - it is the driver, sometimes, but what about the times that accidents "happen"? Are your cars insured? Even the best drivers use insurance because they know that accidents are not always dependent on skill, and unnecessary fatalities ARE sometimes dependent on the vehicle you're driving. I'm sure your SUV feels safe to you, but how safe is it for everyone else? I never meant that each SUV driver is "an inconsiderate prick" in a personal sense, and perhaps that can be too much construed as a personal attack. Far from intending to attack individuals I believe it is *widespread* SUVs that cause these problems, not each individual driving their individual SUVs. To drive around in a vehicle that you feel safe in at the expense of everyone else's safety....how is that NOT inconsiderate???? -

Yeah I wouldn't have had the budget mate...was lucky to get a 33 S2...there's no hurry, I'll get a 34 in a few years Basically I own the 33 outright (no finance, no debts) but I'm a full time uni student. Once I finish uni and get a full time job it'll take me a year max to add enough savings to sell the 33 and get a 34, or less if I just get finance on the extra 10k or whatever...we'll see but I'm happy with 33 for now
-
I used to think this a couple years ago, but now I disagree. I don't reckon R33s are the majority, I reckon R32s are now, by a longshot. I see two or three R32s a day often, lucky to see one other R33 (I'm not on the road much each day tho). Also, there are quite a few "average" older R33s around that look kinda plain, but when people see a nice one go past they sit up and take notice. I didn't used to like the look of R33s because of all the plain ones you see, but a nice one done right can stack up to any skyline out there as far as looks in my opinion. R34s are beautiful, and if I could have got a 34 turbo coupe in my budget I would have, no question. I once thought I'd much rather get a 32 than a 33, because for one thing they were different....not anymore, 32s are great but they're a dime a dozen, no offence

Hey mate, I did see a silver series II last week going past on coro drive just very very briefly. Would love to meet up and check out similar cars, esp. as I'm interested in trying to work out what factory options might be on mine so looking at a car that should be otherwise identical would be awesome. I basically live pretty central, I'm in auchenflower about 10 mins out from city, I guess that's inner west. I should be going to Ska's cruise on thurs night but I'm also free tues night etc.

Brakes or tyres after brakes locked up? So what happened exactly - if the two cars were dragging then how did they collide with such force, presumably they would have been side by side or something?

Saw a nice black 32 in toowong today with a lady driver, reg NIS04 or NISS04

Plus every ricer has to have a passenger to blame for "extra weight" if they lose.

Finally a meet I should be able to make it to! Don't have UHF tho.... -
hey all, I managed to miss the last couple cruises for prior engagements etc...thought maybe some brissy owners might wanna meet up sometime for something to do. Doesn't have to be a a big thing, a few of us can meet up somewhere have a coffee/dinner, check out each other's rides etc, go on a small cruise if we in the mood. Few here (myself included) seem to be new owners who've never met anyone here in person so it's a chance for that too. Anyway if anyone's interested let's organise something.

At every traffic lights she could get out, stand between you and the car next to ya and raise her hands up and drop 'em when the light goes green, 2f2f style
