Hi, I am selling my R33 & have had some interest in a buyer without the wheels. So if someone is interested in buying the wheels separately, I am happy to sell them. NOTE: I will only be selling the wheels if I have someone commit to buy the car without the wheels. The wheels are GENUINE Volk Racing TE-37's They are like BRAND NEW condition, as I have literally just had them machined & resprayed & new volk decals applied to them. No scratches or dents whatsoever - they look fantastic. Here are the specs of the wheels: Date: 1999.10.5 VR TE37C 17x7.5 JJ PCD: 114.3 OF +30 5H WH Rears: Date: 1998.6.2 VR TE37X Size 17x8.5 JJ PCD 114.3 OF +40 5H WH Weight 6.9kg They also have brand new tyres on the rears, and almost new on the fronts. Hi Paul, you might not necessarily be the best person to ask as you are selling the product , but i was wondering what are the symptoms of needing the coils replaced? My 97 R33 GTS-T in certain situations is having a problem with jerky acceleration. I particularly notice it in 3rd gear going up a hill about 55-60km/h and trying to gently accelerate. Sorta feels like the car is pulling back if that makes sense. My mechanic said he suspects the coils, as they have done a number of other things to try and fix it, with it only partly improving. Appreciate your thoughts? Thanks

Thanks, appreciate that. They said that they have already cleaned the AAC valve previously thinking that was the cause of the idling problem too, but it doesnt appeared to have fixed it. He said they are a bit stumped over the cause of that. The jerky acceleration problem, he seems to think it could be the coils causing the problem, but said they are pretty expensive to replace. I'll see what they say when i pick it up tonight, but if no luck i might take you up on your offer Plattsy. Saturday might actually work for me after all. -

Geez thanks plattsy, that's mighty generous of you. I have the car booked in Friday for something else, so was going to get them to check out the above suggestions then. So I'll know by Friday night if it's still got problems or not. Saturday is a no go, but possibly Sunday if that suited you? -

Hi guys, First off let me say, i really dont know much about engines, parts, etc. I just love skylines, so forgive my lack of education from here on in... I have had a problem going on for months now that still is not fixed, and am hoping someone could offer some suggestions. Basically it is running badly, but not all the time. Sometimes its far worse than other times. And then other times it seems completely fine. When i squeeze the accelerator gently (like you would for normal everyday driving), it feels jerky, not at all smooth like it always used to be. And at its worse even feels like the car is pulling back. If i accelerate harder it doesnt really seem to be a problem. I notice the problem most when im driving up hill around 55-60km/h in 3rd gear. Also when I pull up at lights for a while, sometimes it starts idling really badly, goes down and up progressively worse, and if i dont give it a little gas, it will stall. I *think* this seems to be worse if i have the air con on, but im not sure if this is co-incidence or not. It starts up without a problem, but i notice, if i try to move off too soon, sometimes it pulls back (sorta feels like a fuel problem). Not too worried about this, as if i start it up and wait a few seconds before moving off its fine. I just mention as its another symptom that didn't used to happen, and i suspect is related. I have had the fuel pump replaced maybe 2 years ago now. And recently had the fuel regulator (im pretty sure thats what it was) replaced when i had it serviced, as the mechanic suspected it was the problem. Although the car improved a lot, and it wasnt nearly as bad as it was, the problem still happens. Could have been to do with the rest of their servicing. Spark plugs have been replaced regularly, as with any other normal maintenance that goes with services. I found another thread where someone was complaining of similar issues, and some other suggested it was the Air Flow meter. Is that a possibility for my symptoms? Any help & advice i can pass on to the mechanic would be GREATLY appreciated. Or any places around melbourne (pref eastern suburbs) that people can suggest who deal with imports / skylines who might have a better idea would also appreciated. Thanks

Yes it's an after mark immobiliser. It was a 3 point immobiliser from Brant car alarms, that's about all i remember. Doesnt have keyless entry. The problem isnt when i initially start the car, it starts up fine initially, and then it cuts out while im driving, and then for a few minutes after that it cranks but wont start. -

I need help diagnosing a problem with my R33 Series 2 skyline. Every now & then the car just shuts off while I am driving. Engine cuts off & when I come to a stop and try to start it again it turns over ok, but will not start. After a few minutes it is able to be started again. The mechanic noticed that when it happens, the lights on the dash dont come on when the ignition is turned to ON, which point towards the immobiliser playing up. The auto electrician suspected a faulty ignition switch, so it was replaced. The battery was also old, and so was replaced with a bigger battery just in case it had something to do with it. This was done after the first two times, and now the problem has happened again. Ruling out those things as the cause. Things i have noticed about the 3 occurences (not including the times the mechanic got it to happen): - It has happened within 5 minutes of starting the car. - First two times it happend turning into the exact same driveway of the same train station. - All three times it has happend when I have been turning right (3rd time was a big intersection right hand turn, first 2 into the train station driveway). I realise this is most likely a fault with the immobiliser, but i dont want to have to replace the whole system if not necessary, and especially if its not the cause. Any help would be very greatly appreciated!! -

As everyone else with a japanese head unit, I had the problem that my stereo only goes from 70 - 90 mhz. I went to Autobarn and got the frequency converter which says it changes the frequency by 20mhz. So in theory Fox Fm im melbourne 101.9 would tune in as 81.9. Thats all good, but I took the dash off last night, plugged it in, put the stereo back in all excited i can listen to something other than Lite FM, and it didnt do anything! It was exactly the same, all i could get was Lite FM 89.9. I think the adapter had already been put on, because the 2 prong thing is plugged into a cable splits into 2 different plugs. One of the plugs looks like the normal australian looking ariel plug, the other is a bit smaller, not sure what it is. So i put the australian looking plug into my converter, and then the converter to the head unit, and grounded the black wire. The problem is i dont want to buy another head unit, cos its an awesome sony xplod head unit, double size, plays cd's AND md's, has a remote. Looks pretty expensive. My question is what is more likely? 1) Convertor is faulty 2) I did something wrong (theres not that much to it!!) 3) It wont work for my head unit Any help is much appreciated!! Thanks, Davin
