  1. Im getting mixed stories on replacing the oil pump on an RB26DETT. Is it an "engine out" job, or not? If it isn't, how difficult is it to get to? Im not planning to do it myself or anything, just trying to budget labour cost involved.
  2. Technical Officer, Monadelphous Engineering Currently on-site in Pilbara....bush spec.
  3. go RB20DET conversion, its easiest and cheapest. Ttry to source a half cut from Jap wrecker, and the rest will be pretty smooth sailing. I say stick to the clean, original lines of the R31, dont bling it, just nice & sinister, with knockout, turbo punch.
  4. yes I agree, this is exactly the reason I posed this this question, and after reading back through the threads, plus talking to a couple of tuners, I think I will settle on the HKS2530's...It just seems logical. They may be a little dearer, but at the end of the day, we'd only be talking around 1K. Im sure I could stretch the wallet to accomodate this. Cheers all for your info.
  5. What am I looking for out of the car? Pretty much daily driver, with occasional strip use. Not interested in track work at this stage (budget wont accomadate!). Id like to get around 250 kw atw, with a nice linear power curve. I have about 6-7K to speand, it already has exhaust & filters, but everything else is virginal!
  6. I like that power curve....that is a nice power curve
  7. Ok obviously different rules apply to differnt cars and import brokers, but Ive just imported an R32 GTR, and it was as easy as finding the vehicle & paying for it. Everything else is currently being done (freight, customs, compliance & licensing etc). As I work away, the $1200 fee seemed more than reasonable...but like I said previously, if your preference is to be more involved in the whole process, then obviously each to their own!!
  8. why would you have a problem with someone doing it? They have complied and licensed thousands of cars, so they obviously know what & what not to do. Think about it, if everyone's best option was to do it themselves, there wouldn't be such a thing as import brokers, because no one would use them. Don't get me wrong, if you import privately because you want the experience or like the appeal of doing everything yourself, then that's fine...but if you're doing it to save yourself some money, and were barely talking 1K here, then it could backfire bigtime. Good luck, whichever path you choose.
  9. pm sent, regarding this
  10. thanks boyz.
  11. cheers for those prices. Although they claim to be a 'bolt-on' kit, is it still quite a time consuming job? I realise it will depend on the workshop etc., but are we talking 2 hours, a day...longer??
  12. Just trying to get an idea how much a pair of HKS GT-SS Huffers should be? Im planning this upgrade on an RB26DETT very soon, & hoping I can get it done c/w install for around 5K.
  13. yeah mate, only got jap spec pics at the mo, hopefully be taking my own shots of it this week!!

  16. hey thanks a lot for that Lincoln, much appreciated. Did you have much drama relocating the reverse lights? I'll have a crack at it anyway. Thanks again, Rossco
  17. i've posted this thread somewhere else but now cant find, so apologies :kick: Can anyone tell me how i may be able to fit a 375mm wide plate into the rear bumper slot of an r32 gtr. I know it wont go straight in, anyone know how much will need to be trimmed to make fit? Cheers all
  18. cheers all that's some good food for thought..though think I'll go the GT-SS, I keep hearing real good things about them, plus they fit the budget.
  19. any idea the retail on GT-RS terbz?
  20. can anyone tell me the width of the numberplate holder on the rear bar of a r32 gtr? Got polycarb private plates, but dont they're gonna fit.
  21. looking for advice on replacement turbo's on RB26DETT. I have 5K budgeted including labour, will this get me a decent upgrade? Im aiming for 300 rwkw and nice fat torque down low. Cheers all
