  1. I'm having my Greddy heavy duty belt installed next week, so some feedback would be good. Although I'm pretty sure new belts sometimes make some noise for a short time & it's nothing to worry about.
  2. New PowerFC with controller from www.nengun.com = $1020Approx delivered, so depending on condition & how old yours is - maybe $600-$800. Normally 2nd hand Z32 AFM's in good working condition go for $230-$250. I'm not sure on the others though, hope this helps. Cheers
  3. Just take it easy what you say to him, If you piss him off too much, he could get you for driving a R33 GTS-T on P-plates? Don't get me wrong, he does sound like a bigmouth, as you were only doing the speed limit.
  4. If anyone can find a rear brake light assembly for the series 2 rear wing, please let me know ASAP. I'm in Melbourne, VIC. Cheers
  5. Does anyone know if there are tuners in Melbourne that provides Re-mapped RB25 (R33 GTS-T series 1.5) ECU's. I was going to send mine to Toshi, but can't get car to Sydney & it might take a bit of reposting ECU's before I recieve the best suited? I could be wrong here, has anyone from other states sent their ECU to Toshi & got a replacement without him seeing & tuning the car? Cheers
  6. I've got a HKS SSQ, Only reason - got it new & very cheap and stock one was stuffed. Been driving the car for 13months now. No cop problems (yet), no stalling problems (Apexi SAFC 2 & heaps of other stuff). As Rhett says in the previous post, "flutter" is no good for the car, just use a good condition stock one, or aftermarket if you want noise & to replace or unwilling to fix a damaged/non working stock BOV.
  7. My engine builder uses these alot, on many different street & race prepped 4-&6cyl cars (including Skylines). I did a little research on these, didn't find anything to worry about. 2BNVS - My builder got these in Lilydale, Victoria. He paid $1100.00. I did a search in Google & and there is heaps of info on them & they should be available in NSW. I was all for the Arias, cost wasn't really an issue, as they simular in price, but I was convinced by my engineer (had a first hand look at some of the engines he has built) & by a few people using these pistons & who had their engines built at the same place. Let's hope I made the right choice.
  8. Interested in any possitive/negative feedback if anyones used these pistons before, as I have heard they are great for the price etcc.. Cheers
  9. I would have to agree with 4door_Sleeper, I recently got some SO3's & they are the best tyres I've used in 12 years of driving - especially in the wet. I used to have Falken Azenis Pure Sport, but the SO3's seem to wear and grip alot better - but cost more. I would also like to hear a comparison between Michelin Pilot and the Bridgestone Potenza SO3's, including price. 265/40/18 Rear 235/45/18 Front -- I paid $2020 for these 4.
  10. Standard RB 20/25 AFM - 226 RWKW/378 BHP Z32 AFM - 255 RWKW/415 BHP - Although some people have their AFM's maxing out between 180RWKW & 200RWKW on 14psi using aftermarket turbos. On a stock turbo & a well tuned/well set up car they should not max out to around 225RWKW, depending on the boost level of course. Can't help with the re-soldering, someone else on the forum might be able to send some pics, or take it to your nearest performance shop who have experience working on AFM's. If you decide to replace, not fix, I would ring your closest Nissan dealer, to get a quote and for a standard RB20/25 AFM if avaiable. In the previous post I said Z32's were around $460 from Nengun, but I have seen them available tonight from another shop - UPI Performance in Moorabbin, Victoria for $440.00. Cheers, Chris
  11. If you need to replace it, I'm not sure if you can get another standard RB25 AFM from Nissan, but could be expensive if they have them. Depending on the power of your engine and if your planning mods in the future, a Z32 AFM is a good aftermarket upgrade, it is the same size as the std one & a direct fit (80mm) and can handle up to around 300rwkw. Try www.nengun.com, if you want a new Z32 - about $460.00 or so. If going for second hand do a search on the forum, people are selling them now and again for half the price. I am having my AFM checked when my new engine goes in & if its gone, I will be definitley fitting a Z32 .
  12. Thanks Mate for the info. If I hear of anyone with std shocks I'll let you know.
  13. I always thought using 100% Synthetic oils was no good to run a motor in? I also saw some of this explained on other threads.
  14. I'm thinking of using Motul Turbolight Semi Syn. in my fully rebuilt RB25Det with forged pistons/GTR rods etc.. Will this be suitable? I'm not concerned about price, just want to find & use one of the best possible oils to run it in. What oils have you guys used to run motors in with good results?
  15. Hi Toshi, I can't PM you for some reason. I am interested in having my ECU remaped soon, as my engine is being rebuilt at the moment. My car is a 1995 (Dec) R33 Nissan Skyline series 1.5 - with the following mods - Apexi GT spec FMIC, Jasma 3.5" exahaust (with 4" tip), Blitz Dual SBC electronic Boost Controller (older version/ maybe 1st one released? I will check the part no. & get back to you), New Apexi SAFC 2 (Lmt.Edit), new HKS SSQ BOV, new Walpro 500hp/255l/hr intank fuel pump, new Monza High Per. fuel Regulator with gauge. The engine internals are GTR conrods, ACL Race Bearings, Maule Forged pistons. I am looking at having the fuel/boost limiter cut & the speed cut. I also am looking at getting a little more rwkw, but keeping the boost down as I have a standard turbo. I won't put it past 10-12 psi. I will try to send you a PM, regarding the turbo, as I havn't heard yet if I need to replace it. If you can give me a rough quote for a changeover ECU to suit the car with a standard turbo & and with a new GarrettGT28 (which is what I will put on it, if needed), it would be greatly appreciated. I will get back to you tomorrow about the Blitz EBC & the turbo Cheers, Chris
  16. I have found one. Thanks.
  17. Hi everyone, I bought some conrods off another member recently, but unfortunately one of them is bent. So I'm pretty desperate to get one as I don't want to hold up my engine builder any more this week. If anyone can help, please let me know Thanks.
  18. Thanks Proengines & Boosted Zed for the help, I'll send back the bolts and get Standard RB26 ones.
  19. Hi Proengines, - How much risk involved using the SR20 bolts? I'm inclined to send them back to Modyourcar (they are supplied by Rocket Industries), as they said they would give me a refund, but still insisted telling me that SR20 and RB26 bolts are the same. Tomei bolts are only $65 more expensive - I'm not into taking any risks as my engineer is currently rebuilding the engine and I don't want to spend money fixing any mistakes. SR20 bolts&nuts = $210 shipped/Tomei $270 shipped? Thanks everyone who posted - Just had to be sure
  20. PM sent & email sent Cheers, Chris
  21. Hi, Can anyone confirm that ARP rod bolts (part no 202-6005) will be a direct fit for my RB26 conrods, that are going in my RB25DET? When I made the order, they were advertised as ARP RB26 bolts, but when I recieved them today, they are marked SR20 bolts. I have been told by one performance supplier that these are the wrong size, and others have told me they have used them in their RB25 & 26 without problem. Can anyone help? Thanks.
  22. Thanks mate, I gave VPW a ring and they didn't see anything on there spec list for Nissan RB engines, just Nissan SR20 & Nissan VG30ETT. I'll have another look around.
  23. I have just bought some standard RB26 rods (in excellent cond.) for my RB25 rebuild, but need to get some decent new bolts (ARP) or any other brands that will suit, depending on prices. Anyone in Melbourne know where to go for a good price? Couldn't find anything with the search button. Cheers, Chris
