  1. i have driven my car for a total of 40 mins in the last 7 weeks!! this week ive had to change my exhuast manifold twice... f**king cheap manifold looks like a banana! anways i took my car for a test drive... i still had a problems, but just driving normally on flat land.... then i bled the clutch. it feels better, and i havnt had the problems... then again.. i havnt driven the car in ages so i dont know when its fixed fully, ill let you know
  2. i was gonna organise a friend i know from the country to tig weld mine out. but i didnt want to wait around, plus theres no hoist at my place for when i put it all back together we were also going to mig weld it, with the pool idea. lots of people have mig welders. if the engine was out, hell i could even do it! but its just too tight. plus theres the chance of warping the head, i know its little but i dont have the money if it ever did f**k up. im sure changing the head would be a cheap fun job!
  3. had the the thread doctor come to me. i recomend him, he does a very good job! really happy, cheaper than what i expected, cheaper than what he quoted and fixed my mangled one for free! now its time to put my car back together!!
  4. Daves towing service - reasonable rates! estimated total towning time <4 hours actual towing time 9 hours!! long story short:..traffic... got to counrty to find out the trailors winch is screwed... car is very low for shit trailor... country boy(me) can't read maps and heads to geelong insted of essendon omg towing couldn't be so much fun!!!
  5. ill be interested if you eva want to do another one
  6. yea im gonna pay the 'doc' the extra few bob to replace the rest. and im replacing the bolts and gaskets of the manifold, turbo and dump. three at the front and three at the back have snapped, i could imagine how much of a bitch it would be trying to get the middle ones out with the struts in the way.. yay driving 2 cars to the country today (3 hours away) and then towing my car back with one... lucky petrol is like 50 bucks a litre these days :s whoops i meant $160 for the 6... but im quite happy to pay LOTS more.. i want my blody car on the road
  7. ill see how i go once i fix my car... hoefully i wont need to buy a new clutch!!
  8. oh sounds good! what about the pads? im a tight arse but no good untill i get my blody car on road.. for now the handbrake is doing its job well
  9. Do we have 5 now??
  10. hi, thanks for the replys. i know its a huge job! we tried one stud with an easy out.. wasn't very easy!! didnt continue coz i didnt want to make the problem worse! my friends dad was a mechanic for years, yet he didnt want to touch it! I just called "the thread doctor" he will come to me and for the 6 studs removed will cost $120ish + if he needs to fix the one i've stuffed up. sounds good to me coz my cars been off the road for nearly a month now! baught a highflow turbo, manifold and dump... i'll see how it all goes!
  11. hi how are you all. i just wanted to know if anyone knew someone around melbourne that can remove broken manifold studs. 6 of the 12 studs have snapped and i need them out of the header as soon as possible. i have heard of people that can remove studs, tried searching the forums but had no luck! if you know of people either mobile, or a mechanic shop that can do it and how much they charge, id love to know! thanks for your time Dave
  12. hey put me up for one! you have my pm! id want it soon, so people reading this, convince yourself you want one!!
  13. flying high: i dont know how old the clutch is.. 2nd hand car.. but i find it strange that it can work perfect and then not.... but i wil leave that at the end of the list as its the hardest (and costs more ) Craved: ive seen the nipples, fair enough, will have to give that a go, and then pump more fluid into the top... what fluid should i use??? thanks for the replys
  14. hmm, not too much roughly 230 ish at the wheels. its only 165 now ive used to having tyres 9"wide with some decent yokohamas. i had to down grade to stockies.... useless really, i hate them, barely legal tyres now. my friend kindly left some flat spots in them the other day, jsut to make my wet dirivng a little more challanging. ill do the brakes after i get new wheels, i want at least 8" wide tyres. what brand pads do people use, and how much do they cost?? im a uni student, and the power mods are already breaking my balls!! thats why im keepling a tally of all the costs.
  15. hi how are you all thinking about making my car quicker... but safety first.. as mum says i have a r33 gtst, my pads have nearly had it, but i was thinking about giving the car better brakes. The car doesn't have ABS... what should i upgrade. what does everyone else do, how much will it all cost. Thanks for your time Dave
  16. fuel pump or pressure regulator maybe?
  17. hey, if your cars feeling laggy.... its deffietly a rooted gasket either between the head and manifold or manifold and turbo. have fun replacing them... i thought it was my exhaust manifold gasket.. turned out to be the turbo one... but i was gonna replace the exhaust one anyway... snaped 6 of the 12 studs that hold my manifold on... my car hasnt moved for a month
  18. Hey guys. got a little problem with my r33, which is that my clutch works perfect and then the next minute it wont. under normal driving, the clutch is fine! clutch grabs normal. no problems however, if im stuck on a hill in traffic, it gets to the point where, everytime i use the clutch to go forward, the clutch gets lighter and shorter in terms of how much play i have with the pedal. It pretty much gets to the point where the clutch pedal feels like its not connected to anything, i cant get the car back into gear without, turning the car off, forcing it to 1st, and then dumping the clutch to get the car moving again. altho once the cars is driving on the flat again, after a little while the clutch returns to normal. my other problem with the clutch is that, on those wet days, if i break traction and the wheels spin, the longer the wheels spin the longer it takes for my clutch to go back to what i beleive is normal. same thing again, pedal doesnt do anything, car stuck in 2nd.... The car has a aftermarket clutch, no idea what it is. just not stock! I talked to a friend and he beleives that there are air bubbles in the in the hydrolic... my question is, assuming thats the problem, How do i bleed the clutch? or is there an easier way to get rid of those bubbles. at the moment my car is sitting on a hoist.. Thanks for your time Dave
