  1. Spotted Lukes beast parked in Collins Street today, spotted the black 33 GTR in Glenorchy just after seeing Gino's WB GTR.
  2. Only too well hence my replies I'll be at the cruise dude dont worry about that Hopefully motor and box in this weekend and then everything from there, have a guy that is going to do a cash job to put the 1/4 glass so that saves me hassles... What comes after that is a little bit of a secret but its going to be phat, sound a little different from the stock cat back and running on a Summers special Its called "the little RB20 that could" :laughing-smiley-014:
  3. Well come on then, spill it... DAMN dude thats not good news, are you able to plastic weld the bar??? I'll give ya a buzz about the AFM 2morrow after i ring the PO
  4. What i mean is that you paid $50 for your tune, Sam charges alot more than that for his map/tweaking plus dyno time. The thing is i know Wog and i know how he likes to fiddle with his car which he wont be able to do 100% as he is limited with the tuning options of a remap and no one doing it in Tassie which means he's relying on someone else to post down chips to him then going to a dyno here to check it. He cant just make little tweaks here or there freely, he cant knock a little time in or out if he's out the track etc. Anyway enough rambling from me, im not saying that remaps are rubbish or having ago at Sam or his work, im just looking at it from point of view and think personally that a PFC is a better way to go for me, that may not mean its the same for everyone else though
  5. Nah sorry chief can help there im afraid, have you looked in the classifieds section or posted in the WTB??? Have a chat to Heath at Eurotech as he has some stuff laying around and also try Scott at SOURCE AUTOMOTIVE GMB
  6. The difference between that though is that you weren't charged to modify the stock ECU (putting the IC socket in) and the cost of the tune
  7. The limiting factor i see with a remap is that you have no way of monitoring knock levels, you cant pull timing out/add timing where needed in an emergency, you are limited to who can do the work (for Wog there is no one in the Tassie currently) and each and everytime he wants to make changes to the cars set up or tune then it means getting another chip sent, putting the car on the rollers and checking it (if its not right or needs tweaking then you have to wait on another chip) and then back on the rollers!!! Im going from a remap ECU to a PFC for a few reasons, i have an awesome tuner here that is local, he is doing mates rates, has great work ethic and takes pride in each and every car/tune like its his own. At the end of the day its different strokes for different folks and i know the Wog isn't the easiest guy to change his mind once its set
  8. Sorry to dig up an old thread but did anymore come of this as im in the same situation at the moment with finding info if i have to upgrade my stock valve springs or not??? Any help much appreciated. Cheers Ben
  9. I can understand the need to do it on a budget as im doing that myself at the moment but you really should think about a PFC cobber. Think of it this way: Dr Drift remap = $350 dyno time = $180 an hour plus if you have to go over there to him OR if you have to pay dyno time to check the tune locally and have more chips sent. I just cant see the sense really myself but good luck to you and your efforts to get more power to keep up to the mighty RB20
  10. Im in the a similar situation at the moment Brett where i have order 264 cams for my RB and trying to work out if the 9.0 lift is too high for the stock springs!!! At the moment it looks like that they will be which is going to be a bugger cause i cant afford (haven't got any good quotes) for upgraded spring kit... Can anyone out there with an RB20 (or other RB) shed any more light on my problem??? Cheers GMB
  11. Yeah they do some pretty good work as well. Id start with a mobile dent doctor and go from there, the new company that is around now get good results without having to repaint panels

  16. Not too many tyre places here in Tassie do it Just PM Purtell (tas180) the dude is probably the most pedantic SOB i've ever met when it comes to his ride and you only have to look at the cars he's already done locally to see some of his handy work
  17. Dan pretty sure Todd sold these already and he's not on here much anymore since he went to the dark side and got a sil
  18. First one with the Johnny gets em brother
  19. The good Dr wants the the injectors dude so you will have to argue with him Resistor doesn't come with them, im holding onto that for something else
  20. Anyone know a glazier that would do a house call for mates rates to put my 1/4 window in???
  21. Let me know how you go cobber, im interested to see how well the kit you get works and the overall difference with A/M globes
  22. On the 2 R32's of mine i took both wings off one suited and the other didn't. It came down to the colour of the car really and it just looked wrong!!! At the end of the day its what you want to do champ its your car
  23. What happened to your mate that had one you posted in the other thread??? PM richzx as he was gauging interest for up north last month, otherwise if your coming down to Hobart talk to tas180 he will look after you
  24. Judging from the interest the gauges will be long gone and im hoping the injectors will be as well old boy
