my new splitfires arrived today , tomorrow after work i'll throw them in and see if that changes things, as the top end missfire has been getting worse... im sure the missfires wont help my boost issues
-
Stao, where could i obtain one of these 20psi actuators that SSgohan has? also if you have tested proof of your wastegate controller, i should be free this week end to install it
-
im not entirelty convinced by this stao, iv'e effectivly done what this device does because i have around 12mm of preload (eg shitloads) i dont think there is much extension in the rod left... any more preload (there is no thread left on the rod anyways) and it will probably wont open at all...
-
I've done all of the work, but trent has tuned it
-
no offense but that intake pipe looks terrible... doesnt look like the standard one in the slightest should be more like this but obviously in metal
-
yeah, im yet to block the bov to test it i'm running bcpr7es 8mm gapped im thinking about engineering my own metal intake as there is nothing really available off the shelf

^^^^ DUDE!!!! how dumb are you? ...of course a pod filter is way more dangerous then swerving in and out of lanes... how could you not know that?

hi guys, just wanting to bounce some questions off you guys, see if i can get any responses that could help my situation ive got all the usual mods that SHOULD make mid - high 200's (rwkw) but i'm not getting there because the boost is not holding and my coilpacks are breaking down... now the coilpacks are an easy fix, but i dont know how to fix the boosting issue. i'm looking for it to be running anything in the range of 17-19 psi... the boost quickly spikes to 17psi... but then drops immediatly to 12psi and holds there i've had some people sugest its; * the rubber intake shutting closed, and i need a metal intake pipe (even though ive done the rev210 mod) * the std. bov leaking * the wastegate actuator spring not strong enough (even though its supposed to be a 14psi actuator, and i've pulled as much preload out of it as possible) * i need to run an electronic boost controller, because a turbotech just wont cut it * my coilpacks are failing and breaking down at high rpm/boost levels (i have a new set of split fires on their way) and this will cause boost to drop off as engine is not getting full spark for reference sake the turbo is a custom job from hypergear, it's basically a 3076 squeazed into a std comp housing an aftermarket 0.63 turbine housing the breakdown of the turbo is as follows; - standard r33 comp housing thats been machined out to accept a 76mm exducer in 52 trim, oil and water journal bearing CHRA, 0.63 rear housing with 68 trim and with 30mm internal wastegate hole, and a "high pressure" (14ish psi) actuator does anyone have any idea other then those ideas listed above, why its not holding anything higher then 12psi?

this is a fair point, my sisters old corolla was found at chadstone shopping centre, apprently was there for 2 weeks.... couldn't think of a less sus place to drive a car too, get out and leave would be a very worthwhile adventure either late at night or early in the morning visiting all the multilevel / large carparks within a 10km radius too see if its there..., the thief wont still be driving the car around... too risky now its surely been reported stolen... so it will be dumped somewhere!
-
dont get me started on the tolls in japan... paid $150AUD worth in 24 hours worth of driving around tokyo/yokahama
-
no offense, but this car was not stolen because someone wanted it for themself... it is mearly a mode of transport for some delinquent, so once they are finished with it, the police will find it with a busted door lock and a busted kaybarrel... in a few days i would imagine
-
careless driving, driving in a dangerous manner, failing to indicate before changing lanes... you could have thrown the book at them .. and by that i don't mean the bibble
-
LOL, i dont give a shit who they are or what religion they follow... they should have had thier hire car impounded, international drivers licence cancelled, and been left on the street to find thier own way anywhere.... haha, try that shit in other countries and see how far you get
-
your big can actuator looks extactly like the std actuator... the small can actuator makes it look aftermarket and not stock at all... im tempted to modify the standard wastegate actuator bracket, so that the larger can (one that looks like standard size) can fit

Help Needed- Newly "finished" Turbo Install
Ruffels replied to l_uk3y's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
The funny idle will be from moving the cas, only a timing light will truely get it back to its right position a bigger turbo (especially the one you have) will not severely affect the idle... it should be fine... make sure all the banjo's have new washers on either side... also the smoke you are witnessing will be greasy residue from your hands that you have left on the turbo, burning off! this will take a good 15-20 minutes to go away also having removed the turbo i hope you've refilled and most importantly re-bled the cooling system of any air as this can cause hot spots and make everything very unhappy -
yeah ric, stao is right.. its a 0.63, not 0.82 its peaking at 17.5 and dropping and holding 12 psi... i have performed the rev210 metal intake mod to prevent the intake closing... also the maximum amount of preload has been set.... no more thread left on the adjustable rod do you have a higher sprung actuator then the one you proveded me?
-
stao, im still not 100% happy with your response, i paid $150 extra for a high pressure actuator (15-18 psi you clamied) ... so can you give me a better response then " I need a metal intake pipe" to resolve the fact the actuator is only holding 12psi? i have the rev210 mod and trent (status) said it wasnt sucking shut... the metal intake pipe will not help me pick up and hold 4 psi

come to think about it... i first noticed when i was walking out of odaiba super autobacs that the cars at the intersection had switched thier cars off while waiting for the lights to change... seems a bit random!
-
i love the gsx-r's even if they are the commodore of sports bikes lol ive riden; gsx-r600, gsx-r750 k8, and loved both of them, also used to have a ninja 250r 08' ... stuff the dirt bikes, definatly go road/sports bike but i REALLY love the honda's and when i get off my restrictions i plan on gettin an 05' cbr1000 fireblade ... so go a honda i say

hahah i hired a car in japan when i was over there, and i noticed that they used thier hazard lights all the F***ing time LOL if i let someone in to my lane, or gave way to them, it seemed the flash of the hazards was a "thankyou" every car stopped out the front of 7 eleven or any other shop on a main road had hazard lights left on .... the other thing i found strange was; at an intersection there would be a red light... but at the same time, there would be a left green arrow, right green arrow and straight ahead green arrow .... so what is the red for? i assumed it was red for u-turn... because thats about the only thing there wasnt a green arrow for lol

follow the clutch master cyl on the firewall down towards the gearbox, it wont go straight to the slave cyl on the gearbox, it will go into a junction box thingo first... then it will do a big loop, and then come back and go into the slave cyl on the gearbox.... anyways the little box it goes into first has a bleeder nipple on it! you need to bleed that too! remember when you have someone else pumping the cluch pedal, they need to hold it in to the floor before you can crack the bleed nipple open, then shut the bleed nipple again before they remove thier foot, then proceed to do this again do the slave slave first, then the junction box remember to keep plenty of fluid in the master reservoir while your bleeding, dont want to suck more air in...

hmmm i might go get my exhaust tested so i know where i stand... its got a nice note, not "excessively loud" but far from quiet its a 3.5" fujitsubo exhaust i spose if there is no testing equiptment, it comes down to police discretion
-
many of my friends have just returned from long spells overseas, and the general consensis from most of them apon return is that australia is an amazing country to live in, and they are happy to be home, although it is over legislated!
-
you need to bleed it at the junction box too
-
ive got an S12 gazelle/silvia forsale .. its pretty much setup for drift, its registered has an rb20det and cusco coilovers, plus much more!
