  1. Got someone interested at $20,500. Offers over this?
  2. Haha "For sale, XR6 Turbo with no turbo, rest of car immaculate" :laughing-smiley-014: Looking for offers over $20K guys.
  3. Thought you guys would be interested in the results from the latest Evo (UK) magazine tyre test - November 2007: Tyre size tested was 225/45 R17, test vehicles were VW Golf GTi's. They used Bridgestone's proving grounds outside of Rome, but also included scores from a road loop -- and it should be said that 40% of a tyre's total score came down to subjective results in the "handling" and road-loop categories too. Prices are as quoted in the magazine and are in GBP, so not necessarily relevant here. 1. Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric (GBP 116) 2. Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta (GBP 100) 3. Continental Contisport Contact 3 (GBP 125) 4. Bridgestone RE050-A (GBP 123) 5. Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 (GBP 133) 6. Pirelli PZero Nero (GBP 130) 7. Kumho Ecsta STP KU31 (GBP 89) 8. Dunlop Sport Maxx (GBP 117) 9. Yokohama S.Drive (GBP 106) A couple of interesting things here: the Bridgestone and Dunlop recently won tests in Australian magazines, so the new Goodyear especially must be pretty damn good. It topped the tests in the dry AND the wet. The Yokohama was a "low rolling resistance" tyre but basically came last in most of the tests (except rolling resistance which it won, and dry handling where it mid-pack or worse). Yoko make heaps of other probably better tyres (Advan A046? - OEM tyre on the Evo IX) but... there you go. I've never heard of "Vredestein" either - would be interesting to see if you can get them in Australia given they're cheap and did so well (and look very cool too). The Kumho is interesting given the price and a lot of people in Oz use them. Basically they said it wasn't far off the pace but the handling feel and confidence just wasn't good - lacked feel in the wet and felt twitchy in the dry, and lacking in steering feel. I've never used any of these tyres so I can't comment from personal experience at all. Just thought people would be interested in the results because Evo isn't as widely read as Wheels/Motor etc. Cheers!
  4. Bump, looking for offers over $20K guys.

No test pilots. Pictures: Contact Details: John Enquire on carsales, PM here, or text/SMS to 0407 171 337.
  6. Grant: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/t8...=offsets+r32%2A For R32 GTSt, the answer seems to be "probably", but you might have to do something minor like get the guards rolled. From this thread: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/t8...=offsets+r32%2A
  7. Hi Grant, I think there's an offsets thread on here somewhere...
  8. SOLD. Hi guys, I'm selling my track wheels, please see topic here: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...howtopic=186507
  9. SOLD. Hi, I'm selling my track wheels. Buddy Club P1 Racing, in dark gunmetallic grey (this colour no longer available in this model). These are proper, lightweight, forged racing rims. No, these are not the newer "QF" or "SF" or "II" model. Come with original blue valve stems and dustcaps. From memory one of the rears has very light kerb rash about 20-30mm long. Otherwise immaculate. They have been sitting in my garage for the past 6 months. They have only ever been used on the track. They weigh bugger all. New, the wheels alone retail for about $500 per wheel. 17" x 8", offset 32, 5 stud, 114.3mm PCD (front) 17" x 9", offset 37, 5 stud, 114.3mm PCD (rear) With semi-slick tyres: Bridgesone RE55s, 255/35 front + rear, medium compound. Worn and definitely not road-legal, but enough tread for 1-2 more trackdays. These tyres have minimal tread-depth when new anyway. No flat spots or damage. I can confirm these fit fine on an an R34 GT-t 2-door, and somewhat amusingly also on Ford Falcon XR6 Turbo. They should be fine on any GTS/GTSt/GT/GTt. $1800, ONO. Pickup preferred. Southside suburb of Brisbane. No swaps, unless you have the exact same wheels in 16", 4-stud pattern. Make me an offer.
  10. *revives old post* The first two items are still for sale. I'll take any reasonable offer.
  11. Thanks guys! 2f2f lol... (yep next I'll start a thread about blue neons.........)
  12. Hi all, It had to happen - I sold the R34, but now I'm getting a bit sick of the XR6 Turbo. Too big, too heavy, uses too much fuel, a little unreliable (diff bushes, random electrical things). But the main thing is it isn't much fun to drive, being an auto and all, and despite having more than enough squirt in a straight line. So I'm thinking about an Evo VIII MR. Not a Skyline I know, but I'm on a strict regime here and whatever I buy must have 4 doors, a reasonable boot and not cost a fortune to run. My criteria are 4 doors, light weight (1400kg), less than 5 years old, and good handling. Anyway! There are a few older theads around on importing your own vehicle without a broker, or using certain brokers, but I was just looking for comments especially from some of the Brisbane guys here on who they've used, who they heard was good, etc. Thus far I've emailed a few people, and I'm very much keeping my options open for the moment. Here are some companies I've come across - any comments or PMs welcome. J-Spec imports - brokers Site sponsors obviously. SVi - 15 Virginia Street, Virginia - brokers Their site seems well set out. Direct Imported - Japan-based buyer-exporter They replied to my email very quickly which is encouraging. Mark Hocking / MY Trading - Japan-based buyer-exporter Mark seems to have an excellent rep in some of the older threads. Any others that people recommend? From looking on carsales/carpoint, it seems you can buy an already-imported/complied VIII MR for around $41-48K, which I guess is the other option though well above my budget at this stage, and probably at least $10K over what one landed/complied actually costs.... Cheers! -- John PS I'll be away for the next few days so pls don't stress if I don't reply... - kthx
  13. Sorry if these pics are a repost. Pretty impressive...
  14. In my time with the 34 I used: Endless Euro-X (front) and Endless NA-R (rear) Great for track, no fade after 5 laps, but poor pedal feel and noisy when cold so not the best for street. These are now old parts replaced by newer Endless pads. Bendix Heavy Duty (front) Put in as a stop-gap measure cos my front pads were too low before a track day. These pads were crap for my application, poor pedal feel on the street, dusty, wore quickly, faded after 2 laps but didn't go away completely. Queensland Friction Materials (QFM) A1.RM (front+rear) Good compromise pad for those on a budget. Good street feel from cold. Good performance on the track with only a slight fade on lap 5. Kind to rotors, low on dust, and cheap, ~$120 per pair (about 1/3 the price I paid for Endless). I should mention what really helped was also: - decent fluid (Endless fluid or Motul Factory Line) - decent rotors (basic upgrade to DBA/RDA slotted rotors of stock diameters) - cooling (cutting away the guard plastic in front of the front wheels to allow airflow, removal of dust plates) - braided lines front and rear - master cylinder brace - proper bleeding procedure
  15. There's an ad on the back of the current Wheels magazine for Bridgestone Potenza "Adrenalin" RE001 tyres - anyone know anything about these?
  16. Bump... I really have no use for this stuff, especially the ECU. Surely there's someone around who can re-map these things?
  17. AFM sold. Cheap stuff, anyone?
  18. Why not. Send me PM.
  19. Nah they fit good on my new big black whale eh.
  20. Pioneer Car Audio kit sold. Any other takers?
