That sucks. Id be pretty annoyed if someone did that to my car - thats bad racing imo. And wont be cheap as you cant just unbolt the rear quarter to put another one on! Each driver has a responsibility to race safely, but obviously staying close to you to try and pick up a position was more important to him and as a result plowed into you. It is however an entry level category like PC so its no surprise :-(

Yeah I was skeptical about the diff as well, but not having had any experience with FWDs I thought id give it a go, and boy did it make a difference; like night and day. The control coilovers are quite soft so the car loved to bake the inside wheel on exits out of tight corners no matter what I did. With a welded diff you are able to use the power to pull the car around the corner, its truly incredible. The fact that its welded doesnt even really affect entry so long as the suspension is set up right with driving style to suit. I could have fitted an LSD ($1000+ from US) but for the money I dont think I need to try it, and the car is already fast. Welding the diff was worth over 2 seconds at Winton with nothing else done. Do they weld diffs in Excels too?

Yep, me. Been running since the start of the season and ive never had more fun in a car! (The GTR is a different beast, I still love it). It is a serious amount of fun with grids as large as 23 (I think) cars, but as an entry level category yes there are a certain % of tools, and unfortunately panel repairs are routinely part of post-round repairs, except if you manage to stay out front all day! Its a big learning curve anyway, and great pathway to higher level racing and good race etiquette. It forces you to drive fast, and consistently, something sprints dont do; so that in itself is a challenge with such close cars. It is extremely competitive given the tight regs, and you really require skill to do well; you cant just buy your way to a win, which is great if you have a budget. I didnt keep track of costs but yeah id say my car cost < $5k to build, but I do everything myself. To be competitive you need to do things like weld the diff, have a good exhaust and very finely tune suspension setup. Weve done x2 Winton and x2 Wakefield and x1 SMP so far. We have another Winton and Wakefield to go. x3 of the rounds include a second day for an endurance race, x2 1 hour enduro and one 2 hour enduro at the end of the year, so plenty of driving value for the $$. Hey guys, Im selling a R33 GTSt Series 2 Type M 40th Anniversary Bumper Bar Lip. Genuine Nissan part - guaranteed excellent fit, not like aftermarket fibreglass copies that never fit as good as original! Great condition with a couple of small cracks and scuffs as you would expect for a 19 year old part. Please inspect photos carefully for exact condition. $250 Located Melbournes east. Will freight at buyers expense but would prefer not to, as Lip is extremely easy to break. Will arrange options with buyer such as wooden box packing etc. Cheers, Mat. O4OO558O3O

Well great result for me but seriously, organisers should be ashamed of how long this has taken, voluntary or not, so many have offered to help out with this, and it is at no fault of the competitors that the future of this event has suffered from the unwillingness of the new owners of the complex. The worst part about it is that it has damaged the image of the long running success of the club, and will probably snowball into no events being run anymore from poor attendance due to poor running of previous events!

The results are actually completed, they just need to upload them. Leon?

Thanks 1400r for the suggestion, will total almost $1k landed, far too much just for calipers only. Please, if anyone has any to offer they must be priced to match their condition! ie if uneven pad wear is evident seals must be replaced so therefore your price should reflect this! More than happy to pay money for good calipers. Cheers.

Still looking. May consider R33s

Hmm the only thing thats going to prove that is if the results actually get posted. Until then, I dont think anyone is gonna believe that. Well they might have believed it for the past 3 months maybe not any more.

Gtr Gearbox For Rwd Car Help
femno replied to Griffin's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Ive done it. Put a GTR box into our SR powered Sil80. Its a bit of work but if you have your own tig/mig and some patience its a piece of piss and cheap. We used a GTS4 box we got for $250....$10 3mm ally plate, $10 RHS for the mount, a couple hours and a couple of beers, so if you can find a cheap box its definitely worth it. Prop shaft was $350 with a slip joint. Still half of a 25 box. ...and you cant straight swap the GTR internals into a 25 box because the output shaft is completely different due to the transfer case, but if you want to press gears on and off then go for it lol -
Hey guys, Wanting to buy R34 GTR Brembos in good condition. Preferably without discs and pads but let me know what you have and where. Thanks, Mat.

Pretty good weekend! Was good to get the GTR out again, I havent driven it much lately or at Deca for about a year, which the last time was completely rained out. Anyway was great that Leon, Bec, Ryan and whoever else was involved in working tirelessly through frustration with the new owners made this one happen. Was a really big push. The new run layout worked perfectly! And of course thanks to Wayno and the volunteers for helping run the day so we could do skidz. Got just a couple pics, and ill try and upload my fast run of the long wang in the next day or 2. This is what everyone missed out on when you all went home to bed early!
